Isabelle's POV-What happened to him? Is something troubling him? Is it because of me? Why did he leave so suddenly?I leave his office. I went downstairs. I am remembering what he just said to me. "I will protect you and that little princess of ours." He said our Princess to my daughter. What does this mean? What should I think of it?Come on Bella. You should not think it in any way at all. He must have said it without any meaning at all. I went into the kitchen. Anita come up to me and said that I should go and check up on Eva. Obviously, she must be playing in her room. She had her breakfast there already.It's been three hours since he left. But his thought never left my mind. I was still thinking about the earlier. The security around the house had increased. No one told me what is going on. I was nervous but as long as he is with me. No one can hurt. I trust him. There was someone on the door. One of the guys opened it. There were some parcels. It was in my name. But I didn't order anything.The one who collected it had opened it too. It was a Christmas tree and some decorations too. "Oh, it has come. Xavier told me that he will order the things you needed. But I didn't know he was seriously buying this stuff. Because he doesn't know a single thing about Christmas." Anita said. *******It's been hours. I was still doing some decorations. Eva helped me in decorating the tree.The doorbell went off. Someone is outside.I was going to open the door but Ben didn't let me. It was the clear instructions from their boss to not let me near any danger. So for that, no one let me open the main door, I could not be near any windows and so much more.Ben opened the door. It was some girl. She was very beautiful. Ben and the girl stood by the door for longer than needed.Is there something that I am missing? "Welcome, Tori. I will take your bags. Anita is in the kitchen." Ben said. "Yeah, it's been long. I am fine too. Thanks for asking." With that, she took her bags and entered the house.Anita saw her and rushed to her. She hugged the new girl. "Oh, Tori. You were supposed to come tomorrow. Why are you one day early? Is everything okay at your college?" Anita asked. I think she is Anita's daughter. Anita told me her that she'll be coming by tomorrow. Ben came to me. "Do you need anything else?" He took a stars shaped light string from my hand and helped me hang it up. I was really thinking of calling someone because it was a little higher than my reach."Thanks, Ben. And no, I don't need anything right now. I am almost done. You just tell me how this is looking?" I asked him."It is very beautiful and hopeful. I never experienced this festive feeling. It feels good. Good work Bella." Ben patted my head. Isn't he younger than me? Why would he pat my head? These people are very hard to understand.I just gave him a smile. I saw the girl came over to us.I smiled at her but she totally ignored me. She looked at Ben."Who is this?" She asked about me to Ben. I don't know why I felt like she is not happy seeing me here."She is Isabelle. Bella, she is Victoria. Ohio and Anita's daughter." Ben introduced us."It's nice to meet you." I extend my hand to shake but she ignored that too."So who's bitch she is? Yours?" She asked Ben.I was beyond shocked. I can not believe that I am hearing it. My heart was drumming inside my chest."Victoria shut up. Don't talk about her in that way." Ben shouted at her."Why? Is she not yours? Well, obviously she is so ugly. Your taste is not that bad." The girl said.My mind stopped working. I was about to lose my balance but Ben supported me."You don't know what you are talking about and who you are talking about? She is the boss's guest. Say sorry to her right now." Ben roared again."Oh, so she is the boss's whore. Hmm... She is not his type but who cares about looks when you are good in bed." She said.I stopped breathing. My heart was clenching tighter and tighter with her every word.I snatched my hand from Ben's grip and ran towards my room but I stumbled into someone. I looked up, it was Lucas. The gentleman guy from this morning.Because of tears, I could not see clearly and my mind stopped working but still, I saw how angry he was looking. The look on his face is enough to kill someone. "Hey, whore. Where are you going? I am not done talking. I think no one has told you your place here." She said coming from behind and stood beside me.I closed my eyes. I can't hear it anymore. Can a girl say something like this?Lucas moved me behind him. So then he was in between us two."Victoria, say one more word about her and you will have to face me. And you know the consequences to stand in front of me and angry me." Lucas threatened her. But I felt like it was just not an empty threat."Wow... Wow... Guys chill. She is just some random bitch. Why you all are getting so rilled up because of her. Or... She is heating up your all's beds. My god this woman seems very busy." She said.I can't, I can"t... I can not hear anymore.I put my hands on my ears. I sat there."Please stop, please I am begging you." I whispered.How I am still alive after hearing such bitter words? I have to go. I want to go to my room. I was just thinking of running from there when I heard a slapping sound. It was so hard. I stood up with shock. I peeked from behind Lucas. Anita was standing there and Victoria was standing in front of her holding her face. The shock was clear on Victoria's face."Mom...." Before Victoria could say anything Anita slapped her again. This time more forcefully."Anita, no." I ran to stop her from slapping her daughter again. "No, Bella. She is my daughter who has forgotten her manners. I can't believe she is my daughter." Anita looked so hurt. Victoria had tears in her eyes too."But mom what I had done? Why is everyone defending her? You tell me if she is not a whore then what she is doing in our house?" She said to me whore again.Every time I hear it, it was just as hurtful as before. I closed my eyes and stepped back. Lucas held my shoulders from behind me. He gave my shoulders a squeeze to show that he is here for me.I took a deep breath. I looked at Victoria. She really seemed confused."She the most important person to the owner of this house. If you didn't know her then how could you say such bad things about her?" Anita asked her in disbelief.Anita looked at me and hugged me."I am so sorry darling. I never thought that I am such a bad mom. I failed to teach her properly." Anita said to me."Mom, please. Don't say that." Victoria begged Anita."Pray to God that when Xavier will hear this he will not throw you out of this house. And I promise you I will not stop him." Anita scolded her."Anita, please. She is just a kid. She doesn't know what she was saying. Xavier doesn't need to know about it." I tried to convince Anita."You stay out of it bitch. It all started because of you." Victoria shouted at me.This time it was Lucas. He marched to her and grabbed her neck with his one hand."I told you not to say a bad word to her. I had warned you but you won't stop so I will make you stop." Lucas looked super angry.I tried to prey his hand from her neck. Lucas's eyes were red with rage. I could see that Victoria was out of breath. "Lucas please. Leave her. She will die. Please. I am fine. Lucas, listen to me." I tried it again. But it was impossible for me to talk Lucas out of it."Ben please stop him." I said to Ben. Anita was just standing there with shock and hurt. Ben tried and succeeded. "I am letting you live but don't think of even looking at her again. This is my last and final warning." With that Lucas left. But before going he stopped and looked me in the eyes.His eyes were saying so much. He was feeling bad because he felt like broke his promise to protect me. He was hurt. He was angry. Not at Victoria as much he was on himself. "I am sorry." Saying that he left the hall. Anita took me to my room. Thank god Eva was sleeping. "I thought that maybe you have changed after staying away from us but you become worse. I am thankful that I am not together with you anymore. You are uncurable." I looked behind. It was Ben who said this to Victoria.So that's what was missing. They dated each other before. Did I cause a problem between them?Today was a very long day.
