Jannat Villa, Mumbai
As soon as Veena heard the mention of Rudraksh, she spoke again, her tone laced with concern. "Yes, it's important. That's exactly why I'm bringing it up right now. Rudraksh, has Haya become so important to you?"
Her words made everyone look at her in surprise. There was a moment of silence in the room before Veena coughed slightly, as if composing herself, and continued, "I mean, of course, she's important. She's your wife, after all. But what about Falak? You left her alone there?"
Despite Veena's questioning, Rudraksh didn't respond immediately. His face remained unreadable, his silence only making the atmosphere in the room heavier.
Just then, Ishan, who had been quietly observing the situation, spoke in a calm but slightly firm tone, "Mom, please. Don't you think you're stretching this issue too far? We all know very well that Falak came here with Max. There's no need to make such a big deal out of it. Can you please let this go now?"
Veena turned to look at Ishan, a flicker of frustration in her eyes, as if she wanted to argue further. But the way Ishan looked back at her, his expression composed yet serious, made her pause. Instead of continuing, she exhaled sharply and fell silent.
Taking advantage of the quiet moment, Rudraksh finally lifted his gaze, his deep eyes scanning the room before he spoke, his voice calm but carrying a weight of authority. "Anything else? Any other complaints? Or is this conversation over now?"
His words made Veena hesitate for a moment before she spoke again, this time in a softer voice. "I'm sorry, son. I didn't mean to accuse you of anything. I was just trying to say that Falakâ"
Before she could complete her sentence, Rudraksh cut her off, his voice unwavering. "Is Falak in any kind of trouble? Did she tell you that she has a problem? Did she say she was uncomfortable or unsafe?"
Saying this, Rudraksh turned his attention to Falak, his intense gaze waiting for an answer. Falak, sensing the tension in the room, quickly shook her head and spoke up before the matter could escalate further.
"Not at all, brother. I don't have any problem at all. Haya bhabhi is new here; she doesn't know much about this place, but I do. And even if Max bhai hadn't been there, I would have come by myself. It really wouldn't have been an issue for me."
Her words left no room for doubt. As soon as she finished speaking, everyone's attention once again turned to Veena. She sighed, as if realizing that she had overthought the situation, and then spoke in a quieter voice, "Falak, you could have told me this earlier. I was worrying for no reason."
Sensing the tension in the air, Mannat Ji, who had been quietly observing the situation, decided to intervene before things could get any more uncomfortable. She cleared her throat and said in a composed yet warm tone, "I think we should all focus on our food now. It's getting late."
Her words worked like a signal. Everyone slowly turned back to their plates, the conversation dying down as they resumed eating. The rest of the dinner passed in silence, an unspoken understanding settling in the air.
Once everyone finished eating, they dispersed, each retreating to their respective rooms. Haya, too, made her way to her room. However, unlike the others, her steps were slow, her mind heavy with thoughts. Even as she entered her room and closed the door behind her, she couldn't shake off the uneasy feeling settling in her heart.
Rudraksh's Room
On the other side, as soon as Haya entered the room, she found Rudraksh busy with some work. Without sparing him a glance, she ignored him, picked up her clothes, and walked straight into the washroom.
Rudraksh didn't react to her behavior and continued doing whatever he was working on. Even when Haya came out, he remained in the same position, unaffected. However, as soon as he saw her, he finally broke the silence and spoke in a taunting tone.
"What happened? Weren't you supposed to go downstairs and complain about me? Talk about your admission?"
Haya didn't respond. She simply walked past him and headed to the balcony, acting as if she hadn't heard a word he said.
Seeing her ignore him so blatantly, Rudraksh shut his laptop with a snap. His jaw tightened with frustration as he stood up, his anger barely in check. Without wasting another second, he followed her to the balcony.
As soon as he reached her, he grabbed her by the arm and spun her around to face him, his dark eyes burning into hers.
"How many times have I told you not to ignore me, Haya? When I ask something, I expect an answer. Understood?" His voice was firm, laced with impatience.
Haya, however, didn't seem affected by his anger. She simply crossed her arms and replied in a calm, almost indifferent tone.
"And I don't think it's necessary to answer you, Mr. Rudraksh Shekhawat."
A smirk appeared on Rudraksh's lips as he took a step closer, making the space between them almost nonexistent.
"Oh, so you've grown bold now? I like it." His voice dropped slightly, laced with amusement.
Haya, unfazed, responded smoothly, "Yes, I have. That's exactly why you shouldn't pick unnecessary fights with me."
With that, she turned to walk away, but before she could take another step, Rudraksh grabbed her wrist. In one swift motion, he pulled her close, making her gasp as she collided with his chest.
"If I want, I can get your admission done," he whispered, his grip firm around her wrist. "But for that, you'll have to request me. You'll have to put aside this attitude of yours and apologize to me."
Haya's eyes widened slightly at his words. She looked at him in disbelief before scoffing.
"Wait... Are you actually talking to me right now?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.
Rudraksh let out a low chuckle before responding, "Is there anyone else here besides you?"
Instead of replying immediately, Haya took a step closer. She lifted her hands and straightened the collar of his shirt, her fingers lingering there for a second before she spoke in a sweet yet mocking tone.
"Mr. Rudraksh Shekhawat, it seems like you're in desperate need of sleep. Do yourself a favor and go to bed, because no matter what you do, I am never going to do what you're asking. Understood?"
Saying that, she turned around and walked straight toward the couch, pulling a blanket over herself.
Rudraksh, however, leaned against the balcony railing and spoke in an unaffected tone, "Fine then. Forget about ever stepping into a college."
Haya peeked her head out from under the blanket and looked at him with narrowed eyes. "Until now, you never cared where I went or what I did. But the moment your ego got bruised, suddenly you have an interest in my life? Great."
Her words seemed to amuse Rudraksh rather than annoy him. He casually walked over to her, leaned down, and hovered over her face, his deep eyes locking onto hers.
"When it comes to breaking that stubborn attitude of yours, I do take an interest... my forced wife," he whispered with a smirk. "And now, I've found another weakness of yours. I must say, it makes me very happy because now, no one can save you from me."
Haya pushed him away with a glare. "You are so clingy! I swear, every time you enter this room, you somehow find an excuse to come close to me. You just can't resist, can you?"
Rudraksh, instead of being offended, let out a chuckle as he made his way to the bed. "Stop daydreaming with your eyes open. I have no interest in coming close to you."
He sat down on the bed and ran a hand through his hair. Just when he thought the conversation was over, Haya spoke up again, mischief evident in her voice.
"By the way, that snakeâoh, I mean, your dear Sophiaâhasn't called you in a while. Everything alright?"
Rudraksh, without even looking at her, replied in a casual tone, "Hmm... Do you seriouslyâ" He suddenly paused and smirked. "Wait... Are you actually a leâ"
Before he could finish, Haya grabbed a pillow and smacked him straight in the face.
"Will you stop with your nonsense, Rudraksh? I've told you before, don't use such disgusting words in front of me!" She glared at him, stepping closer to his bed.
Rudraksh caught her wrist and pulled her down toward him. His face was dangerously close to hers now, his grip unyielding.
"Oh? So that word makes you angry?" he asked in a low, teasing voice, his smirk deepening.
As Rudraksh leaned in dangerously close, his breath fanning against Haya's lips, he whispered teasingly, "What exactly makes you so mad? My lesbiaâ"
Before he could complete his sentence, Haya did something completely unexpected. Without thinking, she crashed her lips against his, silencing him instantly.
Her lips moved against his, hesitantly at first, but as soon as she tasted him, something inside her shifted. She found herself drawn to him, her tongue instinctively flicking against his lower lip.
Rudraksh's entire body went rigid with shock. His hands, which had been hanging loosely at his sides, instantly found their way to her waist, gripping her tightly as his eyes widened in sheer disbelief.
Haya hadn't done this deliberately. She had only wanted to shut him up, to make him stop. But what she didn't realize was that she had unknowingly awakened the devil inside him.
The very next moment, Rudraksh's grip on her waist tightened possessively, and before she could even process what was happening, he pushed her onto the bed, his body following hers in a swift, predatory motion.
Panic flashed in Haya's eyes as she quickly tried to push him away. "Stay away from me, Rudraksh Shekhâ"
But she couldn't even finish her sentence before Rudraksh crashed his lips onto hers again, this time with a burning intensity.
He kissed her like a man starved, as if he had been waiting for this moment all his life. His lips moved against hers with a desperate hunger, sucking and claiming them fiercely. One of his hands slid down to her thigh, caressing it sensually, while the other gripped the back of her neck, holding her in place as he deepened the kiss.
For the first time, neither of them was holding back. There was no forced restraint, no hesitationâjust raw, unfiltered passion.
Haya had never been kissed before. This was her first time experiencing something so intense, so consuming. And surprisingly, it was also Rudraksh's first real kiss. He had never touched Sophiaânot the way he was touching Haya right now.
As the moments stretched, Haya felt her body burning up. A wave of unfamiliar heat spread through her, making her shiver under his touch. Rudraksh had always had a dangerously magnetic presence, but now, with his lips dominating hers so possessively, he felt almost lethal. He was exploring her mouth so expertly, teasing her, seducing her, consuming her completely.
Minutes passedâfive, tenâshe didn't know anymore. The only thing she knew was that she was losing herself in him. But soon, the lack of air made her dizzy, and she weakly pushed against his chest. Feeling her struggle, Rudraksh finally pulled away, panting heavily.
His dark, smoldering eyes burned into hers as he hovered over her, watching the rapid rise and fall of her chest. Haya's entire body trembled, her breath uneven as she stared up at him, her heart pounding wildly.
And then, reality struck.
Fear gripped her as she realized what had just happened. What she had just done.
In a shaky voice, she stammered, "L-Look, Rudraksh... I swear, I didn't mean to do this. I didn'tâ" She paused, trying to steady her erratic breathing, but her body still radiated an unfamiliar warmth. Rudraksh's closeness had affected her far more than she wanted to admit.
But she wasn't the only one struggling.
Rudraksh, too, was battling an internal war. His entire body was tense, his breathing ragged. He felt something unfamiliar stir inside himâsomething dangerous. And then, suddenly, he realized it.
He was out of control.
And it was because of her.
No other woman had ever affected him this way. He had always been the one in power, the one who controlled every situation. But now, with Haya beneath him, looking at him with wide, bewildered eyes, he felt something shift inside him.
Something terrifying.
His jaw clenched as he abruptly pulled away from her. Without saying a word, he stood up and stormed into the washroom, slamming the door behind him.
As soon as he entered, he leaned against the sink, gripping its edges tightly. His reflection stared back at him in the mirror, his face still flushed from the intensity of what had just happened.
What the hell was wrong with him?
How had he lost control like that?
This wasn't him. He wasn't the kind of man who let a womanâany womanâmake him weak. He was always the one in command, the one who made people bow to him. And yet, here he was, completely thrown off balance because of her.
Frustration and disbelief swirled inside him. He turned on the shower and stepped under the cold water, letting it cascade over his heated skin.
But no matter how much he tried to cool down, he couldn't erase the feeling of her lips against his. The way her body had melted under his touch.
And worst of all...
He knew this was just the beginning.
