Upon hearing her crying, Ye Jun took it to mean that she had fallen and hurt herself and his heart ached terribly. He paid no attention to concerns of seeming persistent and without giving her any chance to reject him, he took the opportunity to sweep her off her feet and into his arms. Hailing Fu Zhuo, he demanded, âHold the umbrella!â
Fu Zhuo immediately grabbed the umbrella out of Ye Xingguangâs hand and held it over the couple.
Ye Xingguang cried even more at this. Never had she seen such a unreasonable and dictatorial man! He didnât trust her, had come from far away to catch her in the act, and now he was determined to leave. She couldnât stop him, no matter how she tried. Her mishap had led to an aching bottom!
The physical pain was secondary; the real blow was feeling so wronged.
She, who never ventured out when it was raining, had run after him, yet he ignored her. Was he the worst!
The louder she cried, the more frantic Ye Jun felt. He began by walking quickly but in the end, holding her close, he broke into a sprint. Fu Zhuo, struggling to keep up, also had a hard time with the umbrella.
Ye Jun held her as he sprinted to her home. Once inside, he set her down on the living room sofa and kneeled single-legged in front of her. He took off her wet raincoat and asked anxiously, âWhere did you fall? Does it hurt a lot? Which foot?â
Ye Xingguang wiped away the tears and rain from her face and turned to ignore him, too angry to even glance his way.
Ye Jun, assuming that sheâd broken a bone or twisted her ankle, took her left leg into his hands and carefully moved it. âDoes this hurt? Tell me where it hurts.â
Seeing her not respond to him but merely wiping her tears away silently, Ye Junâs heart became more anxious. He grabbed her right leg and carefully moved that around as well. âDoes this foot hurt? Where exactly did you injure yourself?â
Ye Xingguang pulled her leg back defiantly. âI donât need your care!â
âIf you donât want me to care, who do you want to care for you? Let me tell you, you are my woman, not Li Yuâs. If I ask you where it hurts, youâd better damn well answer me!â His cold voice concealed endless affection but was full of dominance.
And still he suspected her!
Ye Xingguang suddenly rose to her feet, pushing away the man kneeling in front of her to check her injuries. She strode towards her parentsâ room.
Ye Jun saw her walking agilely, without limping. His lifted heart slightly settled- it seemed she hadnât twisted anything or broken any bones, otherwise she wouldnât have been able to take such wide strides.
Ye Junâs worried expression eased, but internal gloominess resurfaced. As he followed her, she unexpectedly pushed open the door to the room and tried to shut him out.
Ye Jun quickly stretched out his leg to stop the closing door. The door hit his calf, and he let out an exaggerated groan.
Upon hearing his gasp of surprise, Ye Xingguang turned around and saw that the door sheâd attempted to slam had pinned his leg. Realizing sheâd slammed the door with a bit too much force, she hurriedly opened the door again.
Ye Jun leaned against the doorframe and withdrew his leg with a pained expression, âYou heartless woman, my legâs broken!â
Ye Xingguang quickly crouched down. âLet me see.â
Ye Jun took the opportunity to stride into the room, closed the door behind him, picked up the woman who was still crouching, and pressed her against the back of the door. His drenched body came into contact with her dry clothes.
He threw her into the bathtub, her body completely limp. However, while in her search for a first-aid kit earlier, she had already changed into dry clothes. Now, with his sturdy body pressing against her, her clean clothes were once again getting soaked.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
The cold sensation made her feel very uncomfortable. âYou lied to me, you bastard. Get off!â
