Gu Qianruâs heart ached for Lin Qingya at the sight of her forced smile. On the excuse that she was feeling tired, she, therefore, told them all to leave, lest the lass felt awkward here.
Gu Chenyiâs father then called Bao Junyan away to discuss something after they had left the ward.
And so, Mu Huan was left waiting by the doorway. She was about to pull out her phone to fiddle with it to pass time when Gu Chenyi approached her right then.
âLetâs talk.â
âI donât think we have anything to talk about.â She had nothing to talk about with him.
His gaze instantly turned dark and fierce as he reached out to grab her arm.
She tried shaking his hand off, but it was to no avail. His grip was vice-like.
Being the sole heir of the Gu family, he had undergone various types of training from a young age, and so, he had some pretty decent fighting skills. With him gripping her arm so tightly, Mu Huan would have to fight it out with him in order to shake his hand off of her. Unfortunately, they were standing right in front of the ward whereby her husband could possibly return at any time, so fighting was out of the question!
âRelease me and weâll talk.â Since he wants to talk, so be it, then!
However, the chap did not do so right away. Instead, he dragged her to a quiet and desolate exit before he finally released her.
âGu Chenyi, what do you have to say that canât be said at the doorway? What youâre doing now will easily cause misunderstandings!â
âWhat kind of misunderstandings? A misunderstanding that the two of us have a relationship that needs to be kept hush? Is that even a misunderstanding? Itâs a fact!â
âWho the hell has a hush relationship with you?!â She really did not understand what the guy had in his mind and what he wanted to do.
âNo? We have nothing between us?â He edged closer to her at once.
She instinctively took several steps back until she was backed up against the wall, her gaze turning cold. âYouâd better keep your distance, Gu Chenyi! Otherwise, donât blame me for being rude!â
âWhat do you want to do with me? Punch me? Come on, try it, then!â He pressed his face closer to her.
âJust what do you want, Gu Chenyi?!â Does he think that I wonât dare to punch the daylights out of him just because heâs Bao Junyanâs nephew?
âItâs not what I want but what you want! What the hell do you want, Mu Huan?! Why do you torment me to such an extent?! Why?! WHY?!â yelled Gu Chenyi agitatedly as he grabbed hold of Mu Huanâs arm.
âHow have I tormented you?â She was truly rendered speechless and at a loss about what she had done to him.
âWhy wonât you leave my uncleâs side when Iâve already told you to do so?! Why wonât you leave him?!â If she had left, he would never have to see her again and feel such heartache at the sight of her being intimate with another man.
âWhy should I do as you say?â I donât understand it. Who does he think he is to order me as he likes?!
âBecause Iâm your boyfriend! Because I like you so much! How could you so nonchalantly marry my uncle and make me call you âAuntâ when Iâm so fond of you?! How could you do this?!â shouted the chap hysterically.
The sight of his hurt and accusatory look had her exerting her strength and pushing him away out of her infuriation.
âGu Chenyi, donât you ever accuse me of anything with that victimized look of yours again! Back then, you were the one who refused to believe my words and chose to cut off my last strand of hope, forcing me to marry your uncle out of desperation! I donât blame you for that, though. Even though we were a couple, you had no obligation to lend me any money. Regardless, you have no right to pin the blame on me for this matter!â
I nonchalantly married his uncle? Did I want that at all? Was I even willing to do that?!
âFine. Since you said you were forced by circumstances, Iâll take it as that. Iâll give you however much money you want now, so why are you still reluctant to leave my uncleâs side?!â If itâs not out of greed and vanity and she was really forced to marry Uncle, why is she unwilling to leave him now?!
