âI believe that,â Emmeline smiled and said. I knew Robert would always love me! He treated me nicely, although we are not biologically related. He treated me as his own daughter.
âI have something to say,â Benjamin said mysteriously. âItâs related to Waylon, whether he can get a girlfriend or not.â
As soon as Benjamin said that, Emmeline, Abel, and Janie were all stunned. The three of them instantly led each other forward and tried to hear more clearly.
Emmeline asked, âBen, do you know whatâs going on with Waylon?â
Benjamin chuckled and said, âI wasnât going to say anything. But since Emma asked, let me tell you what happened.â
âDonât tease us,â Abel said, âjust tell us.â
âIs it related to Doris?â Janie asked.
âDefinitely is related to Doris,â Benjamin said. âThereâs no other woman besides Waylon.â
âIsnât there still Lily?â Emmeline pouted and said, âSheâs persistent with Waylon.â
âHow could Waylon like her?â Benjamin said, âDonât you know what kind of girl he likes?â
âI do,â Emmeline nodded, âSo I know Lily is not Waylonâs type.â
âSo, whatâs the situation between Mr. Adelmar and Doris?â Janie said excitedly while tearing Benjaminâs shirt, âCome on, tell us! Weâre all dying to know.â
âWaylon buys the house in Starhill Garden for Doris! He sold it to Doris for only one dollar,â Benjamin said.
âOh, I see!â Janie said. âI wondered why Mr. Adelmar was still busy earlier. It turned out to be related to Doris!â
âWaylon had even bought a house for Doris? What a move by him! I never expected it!â Emmeline said.
âDonât get too excited yet, Abel told Emmeline. âRemember you told Waylon to take care of Doris since sheâs a widow? Maybe Waylon had no other intentions and was just following your instructions.â
âThatâ¦â Emmeline said. Abelâs words make sense.
âAnyway, letâs not spread this around for now,â Benjamin said. âLetâs wait and see.â
âWell, at least itâs about Doris! Doris is such a wonderful person, right? She deserved to be treated well!â Emmeline said.
âI agree!â Janie nodded and said, âMr. Adelmar must treat her well!â
âYes!â Abel and Benjamin said They whispered in their minds, hoping that Waylon could make the right decision. Doris deserved to be treated well!
A waiter knocked on the door and came inside.
Benjamin told the waiter, Selld âYes, Mr. Benjamin,â the waiter said while setting up dishes. Then he quickly turned around to leave.
Not long after, Abel received a message from Waylon. Waylon thanked Abel for the bottle of wine.
Abel replied, âYouâre welcome.â
Waylon replied, âTake good care of Emma.â
Abel replied, âOf course! Donât be worried about it.â
An hour later, everyone finished their meals.
They met in the lobby and chatted for a while.
Jennie was a bit drunk. She held Emmelineâs hand and said, âThank you for the last time, or else I wouldâve suffered a lot!â
âYouâre welcome.â Emmeline smiled. âAs long as everything is resolved,â
âThings are all settled now,â Jennie said. âThatâs why Iâm inviting Mr. Adelmar over here tonight. Iâm thankful for your help.â
âAnd what about that bastard?â Emmeline asked curiously. I wondered what happened to him.
âI divorced him,â Jennie said. âMr. Adelmarâs lawyer was excellent. He managed to secure over half of my assets, and I also got the clothing factory. By the way, that bastardâs life is all messed up! His mistress is suffering with him as well!â
âWell, he deserves it! Thatâs the right ending for a bastard!â Janie said excitedly. She was angry about wha had happened, too.
Emmeline was happy for Jennie and said, âSo you have become the boss in the clothing industry.
Congratulations! Iâm so happy for you!â
