âThis is my classmateâs house. I came to accompany Emmeline!â Sam said hurriedly.
âI also came to see Emmeline.â Albus said, glancing over Samâs head and looking inside.
âPlease come in, Albus, Sam said, taking charge.
Emmeline witnessed this scene and was left speechless. She turned and went back into the kitchen.
Sam brewed some tea and served Albus a cup. âEmma and I were just discussing who would cook Fortunately, you came, Albus. Can you cook?â
âI canât,â Albus said, somewhat awkwardly. âBut I bought some readyâtoâeat food.â
âAlright, leave it to me then. Iâll handle it,â Sam said, picking up the bag Albus brought and running to the kitchen.
âMrs. Louise is really nice,â she said to Emmeline. âShe even arranged for you to have a visitor before leaving.
Emmeline remained noncommittal She wondered whether she could ask Albus to leave.
âDo you two know each other?â Emmeline asked Sam in a calm tone. âYou seem quite familiar.â
âWeâre colleagues,â Sam said. âWe see each other every day.â
âNo wonder youâre so close, Emmeline said, still in a calm tone.
Sam sensed that something was off and leaned closer to her face. âWhatâs wrong, Miss? Are youâ¦
jealous?â
Emmeline raised her hand as if to slap her and pretended to strike. âYouâre trying to disgust me!â
Sam recoiled in fear and stuck out her tongue. âThen whatâs the matter with you?â
âThis person is a friend of my momâs. It has nothing to do with me, Emmeline said, pursing her lips.
âI thought someone who could cook had come,â Sam whispered. âSo, he only knows how to buy readyâ
to- eat food?â
âIf only Abel were here,â Emmeline murmured. âHe can cook anything.â
âAbel?â Sam said. The handsome guy who used to pick you up from school?â
âYou still remember him?â
âHow could I forget? He was incredibly handsome!â Sam blinked her big eyes. âWhat is he doing now?â
âHe runs a factory, doing business.
âWow, a CEO!â Sam clicked her tongue. âImpressive!â
This pasta lunch was the most heartwarming meal Emmeline had ever had.
She really didnât want to pay any attention to this unexpected guest, Albus Zeller, but a good family education forbade her from losing her manners. Pouring water, and passing tissues, was exhausting!
Fortunately, Sam was flexible and washed the dishes after finishing the pasta.
At 2:30 p.m., both Sam and Albus went to their afternoon shifts.
Before leaving, Sam asked Emmeline. âDo you need me to come back for dinner?â
âIâm going back to the city. I wonât be home for the next few days, Emmeline said to Albus at the door.
âSo, you donât have to come over anymore.â
Abel came back in the afternoon at around four oâclock.
First, he took a nap, and then he got up to make dinner and pasta.
âHey, Abel, Emmeline clung to him. âWhen are you moving to the factory?â
âIn the next couple of days,â Abel said. âI informed Tony that Iâll give him the keys another dayâ
Iâll come over and help you then. Emmeline hugged him from behind.
âGreat!â Abel nodded indulgently. âSince you canât handle the heavy work, you can be the supervisor!â
Gurgle, Gurgle. Emmelineâs stomach growled.
Abel turned around and laughed at her. You had a big lunch. so how are you still hungry?â
âDonât mention it. Emmeline pouted against his back. âIf you mention pasta again, you can eat it yourself.â
Abel bent down and kissed her hair. I know youâre a closed book; the more I ask, the less you say.â
But this closed book has a characteristic when I stop asking, it spills everything Sure enough, not long after finishing dinner, Emmeline spilled the beans about Sam and Albus.
Abel listened silently. But that man was assigned by Aunt Kimberly, and Iâm not happy about it, but what can I say? Emmeline lay in his arms, watching TV. At this moment, Abel only wished it could last forever.
The next morning, after feeding little Seal, the two returned to the city.
They arrived at RetroWave Advertisements, and Emmeline reported back and explained the training situation.
âWeâre hiring specialized partâtime staff, Tony said. âWeâll set up business outlets in each region to capture the market first,â
âOkay, you make the decisions. Iâll execute, Emmeline said confidently.
âWhen the staff is in place, you can train them for their positions.â
âBut I have an idea for the training part, she said. âI donât know if Touy agrees.â
Tell me Tony was quite interested.
âThe World Trade Building is also recruiting, and they need training, too,â Emmeline suggested.
âVernon asked me about it. How about we collaborate with them?
âThatâs a good idea, Tony said. âHow should we proceed?â
âIl contact Havencrest International,â Emmeline said. âIn the future, we can also provide corporate consulting in this area.
Upon hearing this, Tony stood up abruptly.
Emmeline was startled.
âEmma,â he said, âthatâs exactly what marketing and planning companies in major cities are doing now!â
Then, letâs do it too!â
âButâ¦â âTony frowned. âWhat about your school? Itâs starting soon. What will you do?â
I've decided to venture into business, Emmeline said. âIâll apply for a leave of absence without pay so that it wonât hinder my entrepreneurial pursuits.â
