Hm, I saw her grow up to be a mature woman now for these three years,â said Benjamin.
âYou really love her, donât you?â asked Janie gloomily.
âThatâs right. Sheâs my soul, my mind, and my heart, but sheâs not mine.â
Janie was surprised. She never thought that Benjamin loved Emmeline so deeply. She understood now, even if Benjamin dated her, she would never get his love. All of them belonged to Emmeline.
Benjamin smiled bitterly when he saw Janieâs expression, âNow you know it, do you still want to date me?â
Tears fell from Janieâs eyes.
âI know Iâm not as good as Emmeline, but..â/she wiped her tears and continued, âYouâll be my soul, mind, and heart now. It doesnât matter if we dated or not.â
When the both of them left the Imperial Palace, Benjamin was already tipsy.
He called his driver to send them back. After Janie got out of the car, she got in a cab and went to Emmelineâs cafe.
The cafe looked tidy without traces of a fight.
Emmeline and the triplets had their dinner. The triplets were doing their homework in She room while Emmeline stayed in the little garden.
The rain stopped and it was refreshing. The flowers and plants were watered by the rain. Some branches and remnants of flowers were beaten down by the wind and rain. Emmeline took the broom to clean them up.
Janie came up to her. Her face was still flushed and she was still tipsy.
âJanie?â Emmeline felt puzzled seeing Janie.
âWhy are you here at this hour? Have you eaten dinner?â
âI ate a bit,â She didnât talk about going to the Imperial Palace to drink with Benjamin. After drinking wine, they ate some snacks.
Originally, she wanted to go to Benjaminâs villa to cook dinner for him, but he refused.
âHow could you eat a little?â Emmeline said, âIf you donât mind, Iâll have Daisy cook a bowl of noodles for you.â
âOkay,â Janie took the broom from Emmelineâs hand to help her clean.
Emmeline then went downstairs and ordered Daisy to cook a bowl of noodles.
When she returned, Janie said, âEmma, Iâm actually very envious of you.â
âWhy?â Emmeline lost her smile, âWhy did you say so when everythingâs fine?â
âI really mean it, to be loved deeply by someone, doesnât that make you envious?â
âWho made you feel that?â Emmeline asked.
Janie did not answer and asked instead, âEmma, what happened between you and Mr. Adrien? You had three such lovely children with him.â
Emmeline didnât want to answer either.
Janie thought she was angry and immediately said, âI donât mean anything else, I just want to say. How come youâre not interested in Mr. Benjamin but had children with Mr. Adrien?â
Emmeline understood what she meant. Benjamin must have told her something.
âDonât you think that itâs too difficult for Mr. Benjamin to love you?â
Janie looked at Emmeline with dismay as she stood up for Benjamin.
Emmeline laughed and said, âWould you be happy if I fell for him?â
âOf course not!â Janie was startled, âI know you wonât fall in love with Mr. Benjamin, thatâs why I dare to say that.â
âSo, put away your petty thoughts and pursue Benjamin all you want. Donât let him run off with another woman,â Emmeline teased her.
âIâm not worried at all. Youâre the only one who has this ability in this world.â
Emmeline froze
