Evelyn couldnât help but steal glances at her. This woman was simply stunning.
Her petite face, with skin so delicate it seemed like it could break at the slightest touch.
Her deep, dark eyes were like black peaches, and her delicate nose only added to her charm.
Her plump, pink lips were simply irresistible, enough to make anyoneâs heart skip a beat.
It wasnât just men who found her attractive, even women couldnât help but be drawn to her.
Especially when she leaned over the operating table, her pert little butt and slender, toned waist were enough to make anyone blush.
Sam brought over two cups of coffee and sat down with Emmeline at the table.
âMs. Louise, youâve been so engrossed with Mr. Abel that youâve forgotten about me, havenât you?â
teased Sam.
âWhat are you talking about?â Emmeline shot back playfully. âI only missed one day!â
âIt feels like itâs been days,â Sam pouted.
As the two friends bantered, Emmelineâs phone suddenly rang.
Without checking the caller ID, she answered, âHello?â
On the other end of the line, Abelâs tender voice could be heard. âYour husband has a name, you know.â
âAbel Ryker,â Emmeline immediately replied with a smile.
âDonât you think thatâs too formal?â Abel sounded slightly annoyed. âUsing my full name like that.â
âBut isnât a name meant to be called?â Emmeline countered.
âI just donât want to hear it,â Abel replied stubbornly.
âThen what do you want to be called?â Emmeline asked curiously.
âOf course, I want to be called âhubbyâ,â Abel replied with a hint of playfulness in his voice.
Emmeline couldnât bring herself to say the word âhubbyâ out loud. She hesitated for a moment before trailing off, âHuâ¦â
âTo call or not to call?â Abel teased on the other end.
âOtherwise, Iâll run away with our little ones!â
âThatâs not fair,â Emmeline protested. âIâll be sad if I canât see our children.â
âThen will you call me?â Abel pressed.
âHubâ¦by,â Emmeline said, her voice trailing off uncertainly.
âNope, not good enough. Try again,â Abel insisted.
âHuâ¦bby,â Emmeline pouted into the phone.
didnât hear you. Your voice was too soft,â Abel replied, unrelenting.
Emmeline couldnât help but let out an exasperated sigh. âHubby!â she exclaimed, giving in to Abelâs playful demands.
âHubby!â Emmeline shouted, her voice ringing out in the café.
She quickly turned around, scanning the room to make sure no one had heard her.
Luckily, there was only one other customer in the café, a woman sitting in the corner with her head down, sipping her coffee.
âYouâre embarrassing me!â
Emmeline scolded playfully into the phone. âCanât you stop teasing me?â
âWhere are you?â Abel chuckled. âIâll bring the kids and pick you up. How about a seafood feast for the whole family?â
âSounds good,â Emmeline agreed. âIâm at the café. Come and get me.â
âMmm, then you wait for me like a good girl,â Abel replied.
âMmm-hmm.â
âLove you,â Abel said, making a kissing sound over the phone.
Emmeline blushed at the endearment.
Sam, sitting across the table, heard everything.
âIâm waiting too,â he said, teasingly.
âStop being so cheesy,â Emmeline whispered, âthereâs a customer here.â
âWho cares about the customer? Iâm just kissing my wife. Come on, Iâm waiting for you,â Abel teased on the other end.
Emmeline couldnât argue with him and reluctantly gave her phone a quick peck.
âThatâs more like it,â Abel said. âWait for me, Iâll be there in twenty minutes.â
âOkay,â Emmeline nodded.
After ending the call, her face was as red as a beet.
Sam exclaimed, âWow, you got all lovey-dovey with Mr. Abel, Iâm enough!â
âYouâre such a brat!â Emmeline blushed even more. âThereâs still a customer here!â
Sam then remembered there was a stunning lady in the corner and quickly covered her mouth.
But she couldnât help saying, âMs. Louise, you and Mr. Abel are so in love!â
âWhatâs wrong with being in love?â Emmeline pouted. âDo you want us to fight every day?â
âOf course not,â Sam laughed. âI want to see you two show affection every day. Ahahaha, itâs so sweet!â
Evelyn looked at them, feeling a pang of jealousy in her heart.
She witnessed firsthand the love between Emmeline and Abel.
They say Mr. Abel is a cold and stern man, but that doesnât seem to be the case.
That man was passionate, tender, and loving.
Of course, his passion, tenderness, and love were perhaps only for Emmeline.
Evelyn heard Abel was coming to pick up Emmeline shortly.
They seemed to be going out to eat.
She got up to pay and hastily left the café.
âThat female customer was really strange,â Sam said as she watched Evelynâs figure cross the road.
âWhy do you say that?â Emmeline asked, puzzled.
âI canât quite put my finger on it, but she just seemed odd.â
