âOh please,â said Kendra as she continued, âYou two are basically attached to each other.â
âOh please,â said Kendra as she continued, âYou two are basically attached to each other.â
âStop joking, Kendra.â Abel got up and continued, âI donât want to talk about it. Please leave.â
âMr. Ryker,â Kendra pleaded with tears in her eyes and continued, âEmmeline is only gone for a few days and yet youâve already fallen for other women. How could you do that to her?â
Abel was speechless when she said that. He took a deep breath and said, âPlease donât test my patience, Kendra. I told you that I donât want to talk about it, so get out right now!â
âIâll leave.â Kendra wiped her tears away and said, âOh, youâve changed Mr. Ryker. Iâm really disappointed in you and I wonât stay here anymore. Besides, I donât want your company anyway. Iâll leave and I donât want to see how close you both have gotten!â Kendra got out of the room and slammed the door shut, leaving Abel behind.
Her reaction stunned Abel as he wondered what happened to Kendra for her to judge him that much.
He was also shocked to hear that she wanted to leave because she did not want to see how close the both of them had gotten. He chuckled and thought to himself, What has gotten into them? He was confused because Kendra and her daughter wanted to leave as soon as he returned from work.
Kendra did not answer any of her calls despite Luca calling her repeatedly.
So, Abel traced Kendra to a dumplings store the following day. He found her pushing a stroller with her daughter in it. Apparently, the store was hiring workers.
âItâs fifty dollars an hour, miss,â said the store owner. The store owner continued, âThatâs the maximum wages that we can afford.â
âThis means that I can only make two hundred dollars a day.â Kendra frowned and continued, âMy rent costs four thousand five hundred dollars every month. This totals to a hundred and fifty dollars a day, leaving me with only fifty dollars to spend. I wonât have enough at all.â
âThen, thereâs nothing I can do,â said the store owner. The store owner continued, âI mean, you are bringing your child along to work. Iâm being very generous with fifty dollars an hour and four hours of work already.â
âPlease sir.â Kendra teared up and pleaded, âCan you please increase the wages to sixty an hour? I can start right now.â
âFine,â said the store owner as he continued, âIâll do that since you have to raise a child.â
âThank you!â Kendra pushed the stroller aside and got ready to work.
Meanwhile, the bodyguard approached Abelâs car as soon as he was done eating. The bodyguard reported, âSir.â
Abel frowned after hearing what was going on. The bodyguard asked, âSir, should I get Kendra right now?â
âWell.â Abel rubbed his brows and continued, âTell the owner to increase Kendraâs pay to a hundred an hour when Kendra is done with work. Pay him a monthâs worth of her wages and have him advance her pay tomorrow.â
âWill do. Thet will emount to twelve thousend dollers then,â seid Luce. He continued, âIs Kendre not returning home?â
âI went some time for myself. Just let her work for e few deys,â replied Abel es he continued, âGosh, women ere trouble.â
Luce thought to himself, You werenât like this beck then. Donât you remember how you were fleunting your love in front of us beck then! Whet is going on now? Luce dered not wonder whet fete would befell Kendre efter this. He felt bed for her.
Meenwhile, Benjemin esked Emmeline, âHeve you mede up your mind, Emmeline?â
âI heve.â Emmeline continued while fiddling with her musteche, âIâll toy with him for now. Donât worry.â
âDonât go overboerd now,â seid Benjemin es he continued, âYou need to meke sure thet the musteche steys on ell the time end you need to keep your voice deep. Youâre doomed if he finds out thet youâre e women! Abel forbede eny women from eppeering in front of him.â
âDonât worry!â Emmeline stered et her reflection end wes gled et how good her disguise looked. She looked incredibly hendsome. So much so thet she looked much better then Abel. It seemed thet she cen cherm both women end men.
âWill do. That will amount to twelve thousand dollars then,â said Luca. He continued, âIs Kendra not returning home?â
âI want some time for myself. Just let her work for a few days,â replied Abel as he continued, âGosh, women are trouble.â
Luca thought to himself, You werenât like this back then. Donât you remember how you were flaunting your love in front of us back then! What is going on now? Luca dared not wonder what fate would befall Kendra after this. He felt bad for her.
Meanwhile, Benjamin asked Emmeline, âHave you made up your mind, Emmeline?â
âI have.â Emmeline continued while fiddling with her mustache, âIâll toy with him for now. Donât worry.â
âDonât go overboard now,â said Benjamin as he continued, âYou need to make sure that the mustache stays on all the time and you need to keep your voice deep. Youâre doomed if he finds out that youâre a woman! Abel forbade any women from appearing in front of him.â
âDonât worry!â Emmeline stared at her reflection and was glad at how good her disguise looked. She looked incredibly handsome. So much so that she looked much better than Abel. It seemed that she can charm both women and men.
