Abel stood up and said, âBenjamin, please understand. I donât love Emmeline! She kept playing tricks on me. Itâll be a great trouble and shame to me if anything happens!â
âBut it didnât happen.â Benjamin laughed. âAre you complaining that nothing happened?â
Abel was speechless.
âShe failed in forcing you. What are you complaining about?â
âThatâs because I defeated her!â Abel said, âIf not, she wonât be so obedient!â
âYou two are troublesome!â Benjamin said, âIâll go see Emma.â
Abel turned around and led Benjamin to the second floor.
Hearing the sound of footsteps, Emmeline yelled, âBen, help me! Abel tied me up!â
Abel appeared at the door with Benjamin. They stared intently at Emmeline.
âWhy are you staring at me?â Emmeline was confused, and her eyes widened. âBenjamin, donât you feel pity for me? Donât you come to help me?â
âOf course I do,â Benjamin answered, âBut why are you so naughty? Youâre already the mother of four children.â
âIâm pursuing my husband!â Emmeline pouted. âI want my husband to fall in love with me quickly! Is that wrong?â
âAbel.â Benjamin turned to look at Abel, then shrugged. âI think Emma is right. You canât blame her.â
âI donât have feelings for her anymore,â Abel said, âDonât you understand?â
âThatâs fine,â Benjamin responded, âIf you donât love Emma anymore, just leave her to me. You know Iâve always loved Emma. Thank you for giving me this chance.â
Abel did not answer Benjamin.
âYouâll agree, right?â Benjamin reached out to untie Emmeline. âIâll take Emma away and care for her.â
âWait!â Abel stopped Benjaminâs action. âWhen did I agree? You canât take her away!â
âAbel, if you donât love Emma, it doesnât make sense for you to keep her. Let her go with me. Donât stop me from loving her!â
âWhether I love her or not, itâs not your business! Donât meddle between us!â
âWhy canât I love Emma?â Benjamin said, âIf you donât untie Emma, I donât mind fighting with you!â
âBenjamin, how dare you threaten me?â Abel snorted coldly.
âI didnât,â Benjamin replied, âI just feel bad for Emma. You feel nothing because you donât love her.â
Abel glanced at the aggrieved Emmeline and felt a pain in his heart.
Just then, his phone rang. It was from Levan Mansion.
Abel hastily picked it up. Then, he heard Rosalineâs voice. âAbel, bring Emmeline back for lunch. The quadruplets wonât go to school today.â
Abel felt his heart warm to hear about the quadruplets. He could not help but glance at Emmeline.
âWhat do you want to eat?â Rosaline said softly, âIâll tell the chef to make it.â
Before Abel could answer, Emmeline responded, âMadame Ryker, Iâll cook later and make delicious food for everyone!â
Rosaline heard it and answered Emmeline happily, âThen hurry up! The quadruplets are waiting for you!â
Emmeline replied, âIâll go there with Abel!â
Rosaline smiled. âOkay, weâll wait for you.â
âAlright, Madame Ryker!â Emmeline responded happily.
âEmmeline!â Abel hung up the phone. âYouâre so good at finding opportunities!â
âI just donât want to disappoint Madame Ryker and our sons.â
Emmeline blinked with an innocent expression. âIf you think itâs inappropriate, I can stay here.â
âYou already promised Mom,â Abel said, âHow can I explain to her if you donât go?â
âThatâs right.â Emmeline pretended to realize it. âAnd also the quadruplets. Theyâre looking forward to seeing me.â
âIâll forgive you this time,â Abel said gloomily, âDonât mess with me again!â
