Abel put Emmeline down and helped her straighten out her dress.
âI was bored at the company, so I asked Abel to send me over,â Emmeline said, reaching out to touch Samâs face.
âLet me feel as if youâve lost weight. Have you been eating properly?â
With a âhmmâ, Sam burst into tears.
âMs. Louise, I have to confess. I didnât eat properly. I didnât even want to live these days when I couldnât find you. Luckily youâre back, or I wouldnât have been able to go on.â
Emmeline hugged Sam and patted her, âSilly girl, youâve lost much weight. Donât take it too hard. I am tough and wonât die so easily.â
âThatâs easy for you to say, but Iâm so anxious that I canât eat or sleep.â
Sam glanced at Abel and said, âWell, look at Mr. Abel. He has also lost a lot of weight.â
Emmeline apologized, saying, âItâs all my fault youâve been worried.â
âIf anyone is to blame, itâs us. We didnât keep an eye on you, and your eyesâ¦â
Sam looked at Emmelineâs blurry eyes and said, âMs. Louise, I want to kill the master of the imperial palace.â
Emmeline said, âMy eyes are fine. Besides, we still have Waylon.â
Sam wiped away her tears and said, âAlright then, Iâll go make coffee for you two.â Abel said, âI donât need coffee. I have to go back for a meeting.â Sam helped Emmeline and said, âLeave her to me, Mr.
Abel. You can go and do your work.â âThank you, Sam.â Abel nodded. Luca, behind them, also smiled at Sam. Sam blushed slightly. âIâll come pick you up at noon,â Abel told Emmeline. Emmeline nodded, âOkay, donât worry. Go back to your work.â Abel left two bodyguards behind and returned to the Ryker Group. The two bodyguards stood at the entrance of the coffee shop. Sam thought she did not want to serve customers now, so she let them stand there for protection against evil.
Sam helped Emmeline sit on a chair, âMs. Louise, Iâll make your coffee the old way.â
Emmeline smiled, âHmm, the old way.â
Sam had just entered the operation area when the glass door opened, and Benjamin came in.
âMr. Benjamin?â Sam was pleasantly surprised, âDo you know that Ms. Louise has come?â
Benjamin was surprised and happy to see Emmeline sitting on the chair.
âI donât know. I just wanted you to make some snacks and send them to Emma. Iâm surprised to see Emma here.â Benjamin said.
âBen, Abel brought me here. I miss Sam.â Emmeline said in Benjaminâs direction.
âItâs a coincidence.â Benjamin came over and sat opposite Emmeline, reaching out to pinch her cheeks.
âYou look better today. But youâre thin, and your chin is becoming pointed. You have to eat well.â
Emmeline puffed up her cheeks. âIâll try to eat more in the next few days so everyone wonât worry about me.â
âThen tell me what you want to eat now. Iâll buy it for you!â Benjamin said.
âIâll wait until noon. I ate a lot this morning.â Emmeline replied.
âHow about I make snacks for you, the ones we designed together?â Sam suggested.
Emmeline nodded. âOkay, I havenât had our self-designed snacks in a long time.â
âYou guys can design your snacks?â Benjamin was surprised.
Sam said, âYes, when Ms. Louise used to live here, we often designed and made snacks. She does not know about managing businesses, but when making desserts, sheâs even better than a professional pastry chef.â
Emmeline smiled, âI just love to eat desserts. You are talking like Iâm skilled!â
Sam blinked her big eyes and said, âOf course, itâs a skill! If your desserts were sold on the market, they would be popular!â
Benjamin said, âYouâre making me drool. Sam, go make some desserts, and Iâll taste them too.â
âNo problem. Can you make coffee for Ms. Louise?â
âSure!â
âOkay!â Sam happily ran upstairs to the kitchen.
