Chapter 121
In the ward, Simon stood by the bed and asked Terrence, âMr. Caldwell, did the doctor say anything. about Mr. Caldwell Senior?â
âHeâs fine now.â Terrence sighed before adding, âHe just needs to be more careful from now on. He should avoid stress and not get too worked up.â
Simon nodded slightly. âMr. Caldwell, my father was supposed to come with me. But he had to go on an unexpected business trip, so he sent me instead. I hope you donât mind.â
âDonât be silly. Of course, I donât mind,â Terrence replied while waving his hand.
Then, he told Simon, âIâll ask Mills to book us a table later. Letâs have dinner together.â
Simon looked at Millie, standing by the window with her arms crossed. Her eyes were glued to the
black Porsche outside.
Winston hadnât left yet. Millie lowered her head, feeling troubled.
âMillie!â Terrence called out to her.
Only then did Millie lift her head and retract her gaze. âHuh?â
âWhatâs on your mind?â Terrence asked, glaring at her.
He wondered if Winston had charmed her. It was as if Millie had forgotten all about the pain once the wounds had healed. A mere smile from him, and she would come running.
âHow useless!â Terrence cursed inwardly.
âNothing.â Millie answered with a faint smile.
Knowing that Millieâs thoughts were still with Winston, Simon said, âMr. Caldwell, I wonât be joining you for dinner tonight. Iâve some matters to attend to.
That was when Millie realized Terrence had intended to have dinner with Simon.
After that, she heard Simon explaining, âMr. Caldwell, I really need to take care of some things. Iâve been working on securing the land near the airport.â
âOh? Youâre interested in that land too?â Terrence was surprised. He had heard that Winston also had his sights set on the same land.
Simon chuckled and answered, âYes, Iâm planning to open a hotel.â
Terrence sighed. âYoungsters nowadays are truly remarkable. We old folks are slowly falling behind. Since youâre busy, I wonât keep you. After all, weâve got plenty of time ahead of us.â
If Millie and Simon were to get together, they certainly had plenty of time ahead of them. There would be numerous opportunities for them to interact.
âOkay.â Simon nodded.
After exchanging pleasantries for a while, he left,

She had never been involved in the business world and had little understanding of it. She only heard Terrence mention it occasionally. There appeared to be significant pressure due to fierce competition.
âItâs not hard, but the competition is tough,â Simon responded with a smile.
Millie arched an eyebrow, showing a hint of understanding. She grinned at Simon and said, âBesides the Four Great Families, Harrison Corporation is a strong contender. You wonât lose. Good luck!â
Her words elicited a chuckle from Simon. Should he tell her this powerful opponent was from one of the Four Great Families? What was more, the man was her husband, Winston.
âAlright, if it works out, Iâll treat you to a meal,â Simon answered with an air of elegance. âIâll take my
leave now.â
Simon patted Millie on the head before getting into the car.
Millie nodded at him and watched him drive away. When she turned, she noticed the Porsche still parked where it was before.
Sitting inside the vehicle, Winson stared at her coldly. Once he was sure Simon had left, he too drove
away.
Millie narrowed her eyes. She could not help but find his actions rather baffling.
Upon returning to the ward, Terrence chided, âLooks like Winston has you under his thumb!â
He approached Millie and lightly flicked her head. She responded by rubbing her head and glaring at her father.
âHow dare you glare at me? Millie, it wonât kill you if you stop having feelings for Winston!â Terrence said with a huff. The more he thought about it, the more irritated he grew.
Millie sighed. She held his hand and said coquettishly, âDad, I wonât let myself get hurt by the same man twice. Trust me!â
