Chapter 127
Upon hearing what he said, Millie felt a lump form in her throat. She couldnât bear it any longer, and in the next instant, tears welled up in her eyes.
Winstonâs humiliation was even more suffocating than his lack of love.
Seeing Millie on the verge of tears, Winston felt a sense of satisfaction. It was as if he had emerged victorious from a war.
âWhy are you crying? Do you think Iâve mistreated you?â
Winston lifted Millieâs chin and stared into her eyes. He seemed fierce, a stark contrast to the gentleman he once was.
âMillie, bear with it. You brought this on yourself!â
As soon as those words escaped his lips, his kisses fell relentlessly. The tension in the car was palpable, and Millie gasped for air as his kisses overwhelmed her.
Her body went rigid. She felt as though the warmth radiating from him was almost burning her. Winstonâs remark echoed in her mind. Indeed, she had brought this on herself.
She shouldnât have fallen in love or gotten involved with him. She was the one who had pursued him and insisted on marrying him.
It was no surprise that Winston humiliated her. She had behaved shamelessly, showing no self-
respect.
Terrence was right. She had lost all the dignity a woman should possess.
At that point, Millie closed her eyes. She decided to stop resisting and let Winston kiss her however he pleased.
However, he wasnât satisfied with just kissing. Immediately after, his hands started roaming under her
clothes.
Finally, at that moment, tears trickled down from the corner of Millieâs eyes as she gripped Winstonâs arms tightly. Her voice broke the silence in the car, pleading, âDonâtâ¦â
Her warm tears landed on the corner of Winstonâs mouth. He thought they tasted bitter. Over the years, Millie had cried so many times in front of him that he had lost count.
âDonât what?â Winston glanced at her pitiful expression.
âDonât touch me,â Millie uttered. Her voice choked with sobs, yet there was a hint of defiance in it.
All she wanted was to maintain some dignity in Winstonâs presence, even if it was just a little bit. But the more vulnerable she seemed, the more Winston wanted to mistreat her.
âDrop the act, Millie,â he hissed.
A wave of sorrow washed over Millie upon hearing that. Tears clung to her trembling eyelashes, her lipstick had smudged, and her lips were somewhat swollen.

âDoes it make you happy to humiliate me like this?â she asked in a low voice.
âI told you. You brought this on yourself.â Winstonâs fingertips grazed her cheek before intentionally. landing on her bra strap.
Millie pushed his hand away. It seemed like she had used all her strength to do so. âWinston Greer, I owe you nothing!â she snapped.
Winston scoffed. His gaze grew increasingly furious as he said coldly, âYou owe me a lot more than you think, Millie. If it werenât for you, I would have married Joanna long ago. And the three of us wouldnât end up like this!â
Millieâs heart faltered. Then, his lips fell on her neck once more. He sucked fiercely, attempting to leave his mark.
It hurt, yet the heartache was profoundly deeper. After all, Winston was convinced that she was the reason the three of them had ended up like that.
âEven without me, Joanna could never marry into the Greer family,â Millie remarked indifferently. Winston sneered. He held her chin tightly and ridiculed her without mercy, âDonât act so smug! If you could marry into the Greer family, why couldnât Joanna? Millie, youâve always overestimated yourself!* Millieâs heart faltered, unable to retort. She had indeed thought too highly of herself. Otherwise, she wouldnât have confidently declared that she wouldnât lose in this marriage.
Seeing Millie lower her gaze and remain silent, Winston grew increasingly irritated. Why didnât she snap back? Was she admitting that she had overestimated herself?
After that, Winston pulled Millie up. Her clothes were half undone, and her skirt had gathered at her thighs.
