Chapter 163
Another man emerged from the restroom. He froze as soon as he noticed Millie, wondering if he had entered the wrong place.
Millie gulped and turned to leave. However, Winston hooked his arm around hers.
He fixed his eyes on Millie, his gaze either intense or chillingly stern. She frowned while signaling for him to let go with her eyes.
But Winston paid no heed. It seemed like he had no intention of releasing her.
Right then, a man in his 20s staggered in and bumped into Millieâs shoulder. The momentum caused her to collide with Winston.
With a subtle retract of his arm, Winston pulled Millie into his embrace.
While holding her close, they heard someone behind them exclaim, âWhy is this woman in the menâs restroom?â
The man stumbled toward Millie as he spoke. He then reached out to grab her shoulder and intended to drag her out.
Winstonâs expression shifted slightly. He frowned before pulling Millie backward, leaving the manâs hand grasping thin air.
âMy apologies. She made a mistake,â Winston said calmly.
Millie couldnât help but glance at him, who happened to look at her as well.
The second their eyes met, Millie felt a sense of being protected. Winston had actually apologized to someone else for her.
His actions were enough to make her heart flutter after a long time. This was also how she had fallen for him during her youth.
âWâWho are you to her?â the man demanded.
With an unfocused gaze and an arrogant tone, he pointed at Winston and added, â You canât just claim it was a mistake! She saw me. HâHow am I supposed to deal with his embarrassment?â
Winston responded with a scornful chuckle. Embarrassed? What was the man thinking to say something so brazen?
Millie couldnât help looking at the man. After noticing his bald head and beer belly,

she suddenly felt that life had become dull and uninteresting. He was just an average man, yet he had the confidence of a king!
*Just ignore him. Heâs delusional,â Millie remarked. She hooked her arm around Winstonâs and was ready to leave.
Winston cocked an eyebrow. A sense of amusement filled his eyes as he looked at her fingers, while a faint smile played on his lips.
Millie had just started to walk away when the man stopped her. âWho are you calling delusional?â
She shot him a frosty, fierce glare. Of course, she was talking about him.
âYou came into the menâs restroom, yet you said Iâm delusional? Believe it or not, Iâll call the police now and report you for harassment?â
The man exuded an air of menace as he pointed at Millie.
Annoyed, she retorted, âDo as you please!
âStop right there!â The man grabbed Millieâs arm to pull her back. âHow dare you be so arrogant! Do you even know who I am?â
His words caused Millie and Winston to look at him simultaneously. They genuinely had no idea who this nobody was.
âEnlighten us, please,â Winston said indifferently. His voice was sharp, tinged with an inexplicable sense of authority.
The man sized Winston up before lifting his chin and proudly announcing, âMy father is Gideon Anderson!â
Millie paused momentarily. âGideon?â
âDo you know him?â Winston asked while looking down at her.
Millie chuckled. She indeed knew who Gideon was. He was the man who had kept hitting on her at the dinner earlier.
As the saying went, the apple didnât fall far from the tree. She was convinced this entire family was messed up.
Millie pushed the manâs hand away and answered, âAnderson Group didnât even make it into Yerwick Cityâs Top 100, so why are you trying to show off?â
Her tone dripped with sarcasm, reflecting Winstonâs style.
