Chapter 204
âYerwick is such a small city.â Millie sighed.
In fact, Yerwick was a big city. However, she kept running into people she didnât want to see.
The man sneered as he slowly walked forward, finally standing beside Millie to wash his hands. Millie grabbed two tissues and dried her hands. Her fingers were truly beautiful, with a lovely
hint of pink.
Winston turned away and said in a low voice, âMillie, youâve gone too far.â
âWhat do you mean, Mr. Greer?â Millie asked, tilting her head.
Winston gazed into her doe eyes. Bathed in the soft, warm yellow light, her face was exquisite and captivating. Those eyes seemed to hold an irresistible allure.
Winstonâs patience was wearing thin. âIâm sure you understand what I mean.â
This charade with Simon had to end.
âIâm not smart, so I really donât,â Millie replied, looking away as she continued to dry her hands.
Winston snorted and asked, âMillie, do you think this will get my attention?â
âI had no intention of capturing your attention, Mr. Greer. Please donât let your imagination run wild,â Millie responded coolly.
After she finished speaking, he suddenly grabbed her wrist. With a firm grip, he forcefully pressed her against the wall,
âLet me go, Winston,â Millie warned icily.
âMillie, donât test my patience over and over,â Winston threatened, gripping her chin firmly.
Millie looked up to meet Winstonâs intense, cold gaze. She smiled. âAre you angry?â
âWhy would I be angry?â Winston was puzzled.
Was he angry because Millie was too close to Simon? Or was it because she was hanging out with Simon In the fountain park last night, embarrassing him as a husband?
Millieâs question left Winston speechless. He couldnât figure out what exactly made him angry.
âDonât you dislike me pestering you? Well, Iâve fallen for someone else now. Didnât you want a divorce? I agreed, Mr. Greer. What more do you want?â Millie fixed him with a questioning gaze. She couldnât understand why he was so displeased.
âMillie,â he muttered, his face contorted with an overwhelming mix of emotions and an indescribable rage.
Millie let out a bitter laugh, brushing Winstonâs hand away. Her tone dripped with sarcasm. âI did everything you asked. I set you free so you can be with someone else, but it seems youâre still not happy. Winston, youâre really hard to please.â
-Winston felt his throat tighten as he looked up at Millieâs disapproving face, feeling as if his heart was
being ripped apart.
âMr. Greer, is there anything else? Simon is still waiting for me. If I donât go back, heâll be worried.â She

believed Joanna would be anxious too.
Millie looked into his eyes. Just as she was about to remove his hand from her waist, Winston grabbed it again and pressed her against the wall. As he leaned in for a kiss, Millie instinctively turned her head to avold it.
A flash of anger was clearly visible in his eyes, as his voice trembled with intensity. âMillie, how dare you avoid my kiss!â
Winston felt increasingly unsettled as he pictured Millie holding Simonâs arm closely. He gripped her waist and demanded, âWhy can Simon be close to you, but not me?â
âWinston, show some respect!â Millie warned furiously.
Winston frowned and moved closer, exuding a menacing air. âWhatâs wrong? Thinking about hitting me again?â
âWhy not?â Millie replied.
Winston Åneered, and a hint of paranoia flashed across his eyes. He calmly said, âMillie, go ahead and give it a try.â
Millie clenched her hands tightly by her side, her gaze locked onto Winston. Then, she raised her hand, ready to deliver a resounding slap.
