Chapter 215
Millie immediately rolled to the side, narrowly avoiding Kaneâs dagger,
âStop dodging!â he yelled in frustration.
Millie wasnât foolish, of course, she would dodge his attack.
Kane fixed his gaze on Millie as she stood up. She pulled out a silver needle from her sleeve, gently grasping it between her fingertips.
Unable to get close to Millie, Kane shifted his attention to Cara, and she was stunned. Without hesitation, he grabbed her arm and positioned her in front of him, holding the dagger to her neck.
âGet us out of here, or Iâll kill her!â Kane yelled at Millie.
Millie was taken aback by his actions. She reminded him, âKane, sheâs your wife. Youâve been married for
many years.â
Nevertheless, Millie failed to understand that Kane only saw Cara as a means to have children. Caraâs inability to conceive made her worthless in his eyes. This realization was truly heartâwrenching.
âStop talking nonsense and get us out of here,â Kane growled.
Millie glanced at the watch on her wrist. Judging by the time of the police call and the distance from the hospital, they should be arriving soon.
âDr. Caldwell, please let us leave,â Cara said, tears streaming down her face. Millie was kind. She truly didnât want Millie to be involved anymore.
Millie glanced out of the ward and noticed Lainey and the hospital security standing outside. The entire crowd had already been evacuated, leaving only a few of them.
The faint sound of a police siren could be heard downstairs, causing Millie to take notice.
Kane also heard the sound outside. Realizing something was amiss, he exclaimed, âDid you call the police?â
He was causing a disturbance at the hospital. Naturally, Millie had to call the police to ensure everyoneâs
safety.
âNot me,â Millie responded seriously.
âDo you really think Iâll believe you? You always enjoy meddling in other peopleâs business!â Kane glared at her, the dagger inching closer to Caraâs neck.
âTell the police to leave immediately, or Iâll kill her!â
Millie chuckled, unfazed by his threat. âCara and I barely knew each other. Sheâs your wife. Why should I be concerned about whether you kill her or not?â
Millie sighed and casually sat on the bed, crossing her arms. âGo ahead and kill her. This is a hospital. We can just rescue her later.â
Kane was stunned. He never expected Millie to say that. Cara was crying, blood seeping from her neck.
He lashed out at Cara. âBitch, did you see that? The doctor doesnât even care about you anymore!â

Millie narrowed her eyes and exclaimed, âKane, never underestimate women. Remember, you were also
born of a woman.â
âBullshit!â he cursed.
âIt was true. Or did you just appear out of nowhere?â Millie rolled her eyes.
Just then, the police officers appeared at the door, causing Kaneâs expression to freeze. The sight of the officers finally stirred some fear within him.
Millie observed the panic in his eyes and firmly said, âRelease Cara now. Thereâs still room for discussion.â
The police officers approached him.
âKane Olsen, put down the dagger!â one of them commanded.
Kane fixed his gaze on the police officers before turning his attention back to Millie. The tension grew as the two groups closed in on each other.
Suddenly, Kane let out a scream and pushed Cara onto the bed. Without hesitation, he lunged toward Millie to stab her.
Caraâs eyes widened in shock. She quickly positioned herself protectively in front of Millie. In an instant, the dagger plunged into Caraâs abdomen.
Blood began to pool on the floor. Without a hint of hesitation, Kane withdrew the dagger.
The officer shouted, âKane Olsen!â The next second, he was pinned to the ground.
Kane yelled, âLet go of me!â
Millie pulled the bedsheet beside her and pressed it against Caraâs wound. Although she was about to panic, she still comforted Cara, âDonât be scared.â
Cara held Millieâs sleeve and reassured her, âIâm not scared when youâre with me, Dr. Caldwell.â
She had been mistreated over the years. However, that all changed when she met Millie at the hospital.
Millieâs unwavering support deeply moved her. She encouraged her individuality, recognizing her as âCara â, not solely as Kaneâs wife.
