“Cara, I promised to take care of you, and I’ll make sure you receive the best treatment,” Millie declared firmly.

She turned toward Lainey and said, “Dr, Quinn, Cara needs medical attention.”

“Thank you, Dr. Caldwell. It doesn’t matter, even if I die,” Cara replied gently.

Millie felt a wave of sympathy toward her. Every woman dreamed of being beautiful and elegant.

“I stepped in to help a patient, and the patient’s family was targeting me. Please stop making a scene,” Millie said, shushing them. It had nothing to do with the hospital.

Layla pointed at Millie; her eyes were accusatory. “If anything happens to you in the hospital, I’ll be the one to blame!”

“Exactly! I suggested she work at my company and be the boss. But you insisted on her becoming a doctor. She should’ve just stayed at home with me,” Arthur muttered as he gently rubbed Millie’s palms.

Layla glared at him and snapped, “Is she supposed to just sit around at home with you? How old are you?

And how old is Millie?”

Arthur fell silent after being reprimanded.
