âYouâre still involved with the Greers. If you have no sense of shame, thatâs your business, but I certainly do!â Winston snapped.
Selma was going to find out about their divorce if the news ever got to her ears, and he wasnât going to allow that. He needed to keep Millie under control until their divorce was finalized.
âMr. Greer, youâre not even ashamed to parade your fiancée in public. So, why should I be ashamed to kiss someone else?â Millie asserted firmly.
A was stanned. He stared at Millie and squeezed her out.
tighter. Lowering his voice, he said, âMillie, Iâm offering you an out. Donât test me!â
Millie grinned seductively. She was enjoying Winstonâs obvious anger.
âAre you really offering me an out, or are you starting to panic?â Millie taunted him. She examined Winstonâs face closely with her doe eyes.
Winston scowled in annoyance that he was so easily read. He gulped nervously, and his expression turned cold as he sneered, âMillie, weâre getting divorced. Do you still cling to the delusion that Iâll care about you?â
Millie felt a sudden jolt in her heart. The words he had spoken to her on that day couldnât help but resurface in her mind. âMillie, youâre delusional if you think Iâll ever love you!â
His tone mirrored that same harshness today.
Winston let go of Millieâs hand and said with a neutral expression, Even if youâre not concerned about Grandma discovering this through the media, canât you at least consider how
might feel? Huh?â
Millie bit her lip with her gaze fixed on Winston. She felt a tingling sensation in her nose as tears threatened to fall. After a moment, she responded softly, âYouâre rightâ
Winstonâs anger ignited instantly at her words.
Millie turned to Simon with an apologetic look and began, âSimon, Iâm sorry. 1-â

Millieâs expression darkened as she replied, âDad, heâs not.â
Winstonâs voice remained calm and polite as he said in greeting, â Dad.â
Over the years, he often saw Terrence at work. He had grown accustomed to addressing Terrence as âDadâ.
âStop calling me that. Itâs too much for me!â Terrence exclaimed. â Mills doesnât deserve to be your wife, and it just stresses me out when you call me âDaqâ!â
His harsh words left Winston speechless.
âMills, letâs go! We shouldnât stay in such an unpleasant place!â Terrence took Millieâs hand and led her away.
