Chapter 441
Feeling irritated, Winston pushed Kennedy out of his way and left.
Kennedy stared at Winston with a grin. âDo you feel embarrassed because I correctly guessed what was in your mind?â
Winston didnât even turn to look at him. He hopped into his car and left in no time.
Kennedy slumped on the bench. He let out a casual and hearty laugh at the sky.
Feeling lost and irked, Winston sped down the road. He was unable to calm down as emotions washed over him.
Finally, he pulled over by the road and got out. Leaning against his car, he heard Kennedyâs words echoing in his ear.
âDo you feel embarrassed because I correctly guessed what was in your mind?â
âLooks like you did fall for her, but youâre unaware of it.â
âAsk yourselfâare you really in love with Joanna Lowell?
Kennedyâs words sent a wave of panic through his body. He failed to calm himself down, even though he prided himself on his self- -control in the past.
He was easily affected by minor issues in life recently.
Tilting his head, Winston took out a cigarette. Before lighting it, Millieâs face randomly flashed across his mind.

She frowned at him wordlessly. Despite having said nothing, she clearly displayed her disapproval of his habit of smoking through her eyes.
Taking a deep breath, he lower his head and lit the cigarette. regardless.
As the cigarette smoke billowed, he stared into the distance and subjected himself to the harsh, chilly winds.
He wanted to sober up. Perhaps he would be able to either face his true feelings for Millie or come to terms with the fact that he could not have feelings for her.
After all, he had to marry Joanna.
He looked to the ground. Why did he not feel an ounce of relaxation and joy even when everything unfolded according to his plan?
His phone chimed from Joannaâs incoming text. âAre you still out? Have a good rest. We have a cruise party to attend at night.â
Once again, Winston thought of Millie.
âDid you know my mind went blank on that night?â
Millie obviously had something to tell him. He called her when the thought occurred to him.
She picked up in no time as she had unblocked his number. She was driving when she answered the call, and she sounded unfriendly, as if she were speaking to a stranger. âWhatâs the matter?â
He raised his gaze. âCome to the villa at noon tomorrow.â

âWhat for?â she snapped.
âTell me what you didnât get to say earlier today,â he explained calmly.
Caught by surprise, she was remâ¦ded of the words she hadnât had a chance to tell him. She offered, âI can tell you over the phone.â
Winstonâs voice deepened. âLetâs meet up. I so happen to have something for you.â
She chuckled. âAre you giving me orders now?â
âI would never dare do that.â Pursing his lips, he proceeded with calm. âIâll be waiting for you at 11:00 am.â
She narrowed her eyes at her phone when Winston hung up. Why was he confident that sheâd show up for sure?
She was about to toss her phone aside when she received another text from him. âIâll give you something you have wanted all along.â
She replied, âAnd what is it?â
He didnât reply further after he piqued her curiosity.
Millie mused over the mysterious gift. What was it that she had always wanted?
She put away her phone and went back to driving. It was at that moment a figure suddenly stumbled out of an alley into her way.
Her eyes widened in shock as she hit the brakes. She jolted forward in her seat due to the impact.
Next, she hurriedly unfastened her seatbelt and got out of her car, where she found a man lying in a pool of blood on the road.
