Millie was ready to leave the debauched and ostentatious party on the sixth floor when she heard someone whisper, âIs Mr. Greer here?â

Megan started sobbing when her father hung up on her.
Millieâs eyes narrowed. From the short conversation, she deduced that the poor womanâs parents were trying to sell their daughterâs body.
She let out a soft cough. Megan, alerted, spun around. She couldnât see Millie clearly from her angle, but Millie saw her face under the lightâa childlike and innocent face.
âAre you looking for Winston Greer?â Millie asked.
Megan visibly panicked. âWere you listening in?â
âDo you have a crush on Winston Greer?â Millie interrogated Megan without offering an answer.
Lips pursed, Megan tried to walk around Millie, but Millie caught her arm. To escape, Megan stepped on Millieâs feet, causing her to inhale sharply and stumble backward in pain.
Megan then took her chance to flee the scene, and she was nowhere to be seen.
Millie cursed under her breath. All she wanted was to warn the young woman of Winstonâs coldâblooded character. She would only invite trouble by scheming to sleep with Winston!
Besides, Joanna was on the cruise. Millie couldnât guarantee that Joanna wouldnât hurt Megan if she tried to seduce Winston. In the worstâcase scenario, she might even be tossed overboard.

She turned and saw Sean. He draped his jacket over her knees before lifting her leg by the ankle. She watched him with a shocked expression as he cleaned her shoe with a wet wipe.

She felt the warmth from his fingertips on her ankle. Feeling her heart sinking, she couldnât help but take
another look at him.
He happened to look at her. Their eyes met.
Following that, he beamed at her. âItâs rather embarrassing to have your feet stepped on by a young lady.â

Straightening his jacket, she asked him, âDo you still want the jacket?â
âHm? Of course. Why not?â He accepted the jacket from Millie and carried it on his arm.
Millie was surprised that heâd want to keep a jacket that he had draped over her knees. As far as she was aware, most of the scions were fussy, clean freaks. Winston, for example, would not have wanted the jacket back.
