Chapter 56
Joannaâs face turned ashen in an instant.
Did M block her? She was Joanna Lowell! How could he do that to her?
She attempted to send messages to M, but there was only one tick. Every time she tried, her phone. froze up.
What was happening?
Millie, on the other hand, was still looking at Joannaâs phone.
Seeing that, Joanna quickly turned her screen away, refusing to let Millie have another look.
In the next second, Joanna called her assistant and asked, âWhy canât I contact M?â
âMs. Lowell, did you offend M?â
âWhat do you mean?â Joanna bit her lip.
Her assistant explained, âMs. Lowell, yâyouâve been blacklisted in the black market! M said that from now on, nobody can take your orders. If they do, theyâd be in his bad books!â
Joannaâs face darkened after hearing that. What did this mean?
âMs. Lowell, this is bad⦠We wonât be able to get the Snowdrop anymore.â
Joanna slumped onto the couch, completely in a daze.
But she had not offended M! Wasnât it M who had been standing her up?
Since the private room was too quiet, Millie overheard their entire conversation. This time, she was the one who moved to sit beside Joanna.
Millie appeared like a fox, with a sly glint in her eyes. She touched her nose and muttered, Joanna, what would happen if you jinx yourself?â
Joanna had been in a whirlwind for two days, only to end up being blocked by M. She was seething with anger, yet Millie was getting on her nerves.
She glared at Millie, seemingly about to break down, and bellowed. âGet lost!â
Millie suppressed her laughter. She could not help but think that Joanna was truly foolish.
M had stood her up the night before, a clear indication that he did not want to meet her. So, how could Joanna be so silly as to show up again the next day?
âItâs okay, Joanna. After all, heâs M, not someone we ordinary folks can meet. Donât be sad, okay?â Millie pretended to comfort Joanna.
However, Joanna was even more furious after hearing that.
âWho are you calling an ordinary folk? Millie Caldwell, youâre the peasant, not me!â she vehemently retorted as tears streamed down her face.

âAlright, youâre not an ordinary folk.â Millie chuckled helplessly. She picked up her bag while comforting Joanna, âItâs fine if you donât get to meet M. Youâve gotten the Snowdrop anyway.â
The
more Millie reassured her, the more agitated Joanna became. She even suspected that Millie was doing it on purpose.
Joanna had not met M, nor had she gotten her hands on the Snowdrop. And now, she was blacklisted in the black market.
What on earth was that blacklist?
âMs. Lowell, Iâll see you at Mrs. Greer Seniorâs birthday party.â
With that, Millie quickly left the private room.
Consumed by rage, Joannaâs mouth hung open as she stared at the closed door.
At the same time, the internet was suddenly buzzing with news about the Lowell family and the Snowdrop.
âThe Snowdrop is in the hands of the Lowells! Ms. Lowell will personally present the worldâs only Snowdrop to Mrs. Greer Senior at her birthday party!â
âBreaking news! The Lowell family has obtained the only Snowdrop in the entire world!â
âThe Lowellsâ gift to Mrs. Greer Senior has been unveiled! Itâs the legendary Snowdrop!â
âThe Lowell family steals the show! Theyâd be giving Mrs. Greer Senior the Snowdrop. Letâs look forward to Mrs. Greer Seniorâs birthday celebration!â
Joanna felt her scalp tingle after reading the news. It was as if she had been electrocuted, her face drained of color.
What was going on? Who had leaked the news?
Joannaâs phone rang. It was Logan Lowell, son of the Lowell family and Joannaâs brother.
She quickly answered the call.
On the other end of the line, Loganâs voice was calm. âJo, did you get the Snowdrop?â
Joanna bit her lip.
Logan continued, âThatâs great! Looks like youâll marry into the Greer family soon. I have another call. Weâll talk later.â
With that, he hung up.
Joanna was left speechless, mouth agape. Before she could utter a word, her fatherâs call came through.
