Chapter 16
Brielle
#
I looked for another black dress because I didnât want to wear anything bought by him, though it was still a question for him: how did he manage to buy them? Was he there? Keeping an eye on me?
But unfortunately, neither did I find any other black dress nor did I find the answer to my question. It looked like he had not just placed this black gown but replaced all other choices for me, leaving me with no option but to wear what he

wanted.
I cursed him in my mind and asked Rory to help me get ready.
âIf you donât mind, then can I remove this pearl pendant from your n*eck?â Rory asked as the pendant wasnât going great with my gown. I rarely removed that pendant because it was gifted to me by my
mother, and she had asked me not to remove it from my n*eck.
âOkay. But keep it safe. It is dear to me,â I said, thinking of wearing it back after a party.
Alph Tristan arrived just a moment after I got ready, and
2/14
watching me in the clothes that he didnât buy, he frowned. He signaled Rory to leave.
I had barely opened my mouth to explain to him what exactly happened when he slammed my head against the wall, grabbing my throat.
âJust because Iâm ignoring your disrespectful behavior, that doesnât mean you can do whatever you want.â Tears dwelled in my eyes because of pain. He let me go quickly and glared at me. âThe next time you repeat something like that, then you will see the worst side of me,â he warned, not caring to listen to my side of the
story.

âLetâs go now,â he said, walking away from me. No matter how much I controlled it, a lone tear sl*pped from my eyes, and I saw a pearl falling on the ground from nowhere. I wiped my tears and bent down to pick up the pearl that dropped
a moment ago.
âFrom where did it fall?â
I didnât have time to figure it out because my jerk fiance was waiting for me. I was glad that I didnât forgive him earlier because he proved that his apology was baseless.
The moment we reached the party, my eyes landed on Raya, who was wearing the same
4/14
gown and n*ecklace that Tristan bought for me. I was sure that he would have seen that too, but I didnât look at him
because I didnât want to hear
how sorry he was again for misunderstanding me.
Murmurs and whispers began in the whole ballroom about how beautiful I was looking, how great we were looking together, and how I stole the limelight from Raya, who was looking the most beautiful until I arrived.
I kept smiling like a doll, acting like nothing happened for a moment, until my eyes found his red eyes. I quickly looked away because I was scared that
5/14
he might see what I was hiding behind the smile.
âWhy didnât you tell me?â Tristan asked when we were surrounded by no one.
âReally? You still have the guts to ask me that question?â I mocked him. âDid you give me a chance to speak? Anyway, leave it.â I dismissed the topic.
âIâm sorâ¦â
âDonât.â I cut him in between and gave him a stern look. âYou can apologize over and over, but if your actions donât change, the words become meaningless.â I felt him flinching for a second.
6/14
âIâm sorry, but if you donât mind, can you tell me now?â He asked.
âNo,â I denied right away. I saw him mindâlinking someone. The next thing, I saw him walking towards Raya furiously. I thought he might argue with her privately, but instead, he insulted her in front of her. Once he was done with her, he gave an earful lecture to Jade about changing the shopping bags.
I bet it would have been Rory who would have told him everything.
âStop playing cheap tricks, Raya. Because next time, I will
7/14
throw you out of the pack. Donât forget that by messing with Brielle, youâre messing with me.âHe growled and roughly pulled the n*ecklace from her n*eck, making Raya cry in pain.
âAnd youâ¦â He growled, looking at Jade. âI donât care if this happened because of a communication gap or whatever. I will send you back to your fatherâs pack because I donât want stupid whores like you in my pack,â Tristan insulted her.
I bit my l*ps while grinning at his words.
âBri, save me, please. I didnât

do anything intentionally. Hell, Raya took advantage of me,â Jade mind linked. Acting like a
savior sister, I went to Tristanâs side and held his arm, hoping for him to calm down because that was how we would look like a perfect couple.
And he played. If looks could kill, then I would have already been dead. That was the exact look Raya was giving me.
I wanted to laugh at her. She wanted to insult me by sending me that dress, but I ended up getting insulted instead.
âAre you happy now?â Tristan asked once the drama ended.
âExcuse me?â

âI punished those who dared to hurt you.â
I rolled my eyes at his words. before speaking. âIf youâre expecting me to praise you, then thatâs not happening, Tristan. More than them,
youâre my culprit; are you going to punish yourself too?â I
questioned him and didnât
receive any response from
him. âBloody hypocrite,â I
muttered.
At the same time, I heard the announcement of the coupleâs dance, which was going to start with our dance.
The light dimmed and
romantic music started in the

background as he led me
towards the dance floor. I knew this meant nothing to me, but throughout the time, I felt like betraying my mate who was watching me, more like digging holes into my head with his angry glares.
I knew he was cheating on my back, but still, I was scared of his reaction watching me in his brotherâs arms, wrapping my hand around his n*eck and my b*dy pressed against his.
I was so engrossed in thinking about it that I missed
observing how Tristanâs eyes were not leaving my face until he whiffed my scent.
11/14-
âWhat are you doing?â I asked in a low tone, feeling uncomfortable. Thankfully,
the whole area was sealed with
magic, so no Lycans or werewolves could listen to what others were whispering.
âNothing, just acting,â he mumbled, to which I nodded my head, praying in mind to end this dance, and the
moment it did, my eyes
widened in shock when he
perked at my l*ps in front of
everyone.
They cheered and clapped for us, but for me, it left a bitter taste in my mouth.
I looked around in search of

him and didnât find him
anywhere. He might be very furious. I excused myself from the party, lying about my tiredness.
I wasnât sure whether Tristan would let me go or not, but thankfully he did. In fact, he himself dropped me outside
my room.
Walking inside my room, I removed the diamond earring and walked inside the
washroom, washing my face repeatedly and rubbing my l*ps repeatedly.
âThe guilt of cheating on me wonât go away this easily.â I
tried not to act shocked,

watching him in the mirror. I saw this coming.
Taking a deep breath, I said something I should have done
a lot before: âLetâs reject each other.â
