Chapter 20
Ezekiel

I knew something was off
about my mate when I saw what she did in the washroom that night. Her brown eyes turned blue for a second before the temperature of the washroom dropped, and I saw the humidity in the air turning into ice and the mirror behind
her frosted.
As much as I wanted to ask about it immediately, I
couldnât because we were in
the middle of an important conversation, and at that
1/13
moment, proving my point was more important.
That night I left her room to do my research about a
creature who could freeze
things but found nothing. The next day, before I could ask her about it, she questioned me about my power to freeze. I didnât tell her the truth when I
felt that she was unaware of
what she did last night and decided to solve this mystery in the process of winning her trust because I didnât want to lose her because of my past
activities.
To be honest, back then, I never thought that my mate would affect me so much
2/13
because I had planned to keep her like a showpiece for my beast. Also, knowing most of the women, I was sure she wouldnât mind my past as long as I was officially hers.
But Brielle was different.
Hell, she didnât want to step inside my room just because I had brought a lot of women there and had fucked them all
over my room.
That was why I started gathering all the information from her before working on the interior of the room and replacing all the things in my room with new items. So, the moment I would welcome my
3/13
goddess into my room, she would feel at home.
Never did I think that
exploring more about her by going on dates like normal pack members would bring trouble. I didnât use my money to win her, knowing those things wouldnât work on her.
Moreover, what shocked me was that it was a Siren, a creature half bird and half
woman who lured sailors to destruction or hypnotized
them to make them do
anything by the sweetness of
her song.
But what the hell was she doing on land? And why, my
4/13
mate?
Did she know anything about
her that we didnât?
I could bet that these
werewolves were under her
control, but I cared less
because I was ready to kick everyoneâs ass with my legs. since my hands were occupied. I didnât check whether Brielle had closed her ears or not. I didnât expect her to disobey me in a situation like this.
I saw them shifting, ready to attack me when I felt
something travel fast behind me in the air.
I turned my eyes a little, only to see Brielleâs dagger in the air

before it hit Sirenâs n*eck,
killing her instantly.
What the fuck!
I didnât have time to appreciate her aim, as I had to deal with these tiny mutts. I grabbed the throat of the first werewolf, who lunged at me with one hand and ripped his heart out with another.
Shifting into my Lycanâs form, I ripped either their head or heart, keeping Brielle in my armâs distance. Once we were done, I examined my surroundings before looking at my mate, who was looking at me or saying my Lycan form in awe instead of getting scared
6/13
as my mouth and hands were drenched with blood.
When I raised my hand to pull her close, she quickly ran away from me, making my beast whimper in pain at the
thought that she was scared of
Maybe we read her emotions
wrong a moment ago.
But when we saw her pulling her dagger from the dead b*dy of Siren, we understood that she ran away with her dagger.
I was in shock that she was carrying her dagger during our dates. I might have gotten
offended earlier, but after this
incident, I wasnât.
7/13
A woman didnât always need to depend on a man for her safety.
Once she got her dagger, she came running towards us, hugging us tight. âThank you for saving my life. I couldnât have handled all of them.â
Hah! We both knew who saved whom. Picking her up in my arms, I ran towards the pack as soon as possible because I didnât want any more trouble tonight.
After a while, it was finally the moment when we had to
separate our ways.
âDo you think that someone recognizes me as Alpha
8/13
Warrenâs daughter or Tristanâs fiancee?â She asked, on which I raised my eyebrow, âI mean, Alpha Tristan.â She quickly corrected, knowing I hated her calling the name of any other man on a firstâname basis.
âMaybe,â I muttered, thinking of talking with Alpha Warren about it. Everyone knew that Brielle was his daughter with a human woman, but what they knew was true. âDid you close your ear when I asked you to?â I asked, to which she gave me a guilty smile.
I wanted to scold her badly, but I also knew that she would start
crying.
9/13
She was tough from the outside, but deep down she was sensitive.
âGo now,â I muttered, thinking how Sirenâs singing didnât affect her. Instead of leaving, she held my wrist.
âI can give you something to calm down your anger.â She smiled. I wanted to tell her that I wasnât angry, but I didnât because I wanted to see what
she would do. Tiptoeing, she k*ssed my cheek.
âReally? What am I? A pup?â I scoffed, hiding my smile.
She k*ssed the corner of my l*ps and looked at me. I couldnât help but fake my

anger. Never did I think that instead of grabbing her hair and k*ssing her like no
tomorrow, I would be enjoying this childish thing.
She then perked at my l*ps and looked at me again, only to find me angry.
She huffed, knowing that I wouldnât be easily pleased with small snacks because of my big appetite.
Finally, she k*ssed me the way I wanted her to. She didnât even
realize that when I took control of the k*ss, I was exploring her mouth like my favorite treasure hunt, enjoying the tingles of sparks because of the
11/13
mate bond.
I felt someone clicking the picture. I pulled myself away to look around to sense who was around, but I found no one.
âDid I ask you to stop?â She asked like a lady boss.
I smirked before smashing my l*ps against hers.
