Chapter 16: I'll Protect You

Falling for the BadboyWords: 6842

After Zach left I took me a shower (a cold one since I felt like I was burning up), and went straight to bed. I was debating if I should wear my hair up or down when Catherine appeared in my door. Staring at her for a moment, she smirked holding out a bag.

"This is for you."

Walking to her, I took the bag to see there was a pair of jeans in them. Glancing back at her, she was sitting on my bed.

"Um thanks."

"Don't thank me yet, just wear those today."

"Why?"

"Just come on."

Not really feeling like arguing, I changed into the pants. They were black skin tight jeans, which I guess go with my white shirt that says this shirt gives me life, and my Vans. She then sat me down, and put my hair in a high bun, which was ok I guess.

"Good now that your dress, let's go. Mom is driving us."

"Um ok..."

Grabbing my bag, and phone I went out my room. Getting a ride to school was kind of nice, now I don't have to sit on that cold bus. However, once I got to school, I had a feeling I should just go back home. Sadly life doesn't work like that, and I went in the school with Catherine. She was acting kind of weird sticking close to me and everything.

"Well I'm going to my locker."

"Ok I'll be in the cafeteria."

We went our separate ways, and I let out a sigh. Making it to my locker, I put my bag in there, before closing it. I got time to spare, and I rubbed my arm about to walk away.

"Just because you dress cute won't make him like you."

Freezing, I turned my head, and there was Amanda. I stared at her, before frowning walking away. I don't want to deal with her this early, but she was following behind me.

"Why would he like you."

Ignore her

"You aren't that pretty."

Ignore her

"He'll never love you."

Ignore her

"You should just disappear."

IGNORE HER

I keep telling myself to ignore her, but what she is saying is really hurtful.

"He only talks to you, because he's pitting you."

I felt a jolt go through me, and I could feel the tears forming in my eyes. Blinking them away, I walked quicker toward the cafeteria. Why won't she just leave alone, and I walked in before I looked around. I saw Derek and his friends, and I moved it quickly over toward them. Plopping down beside Derek, I put my head down closing my eyes.

"You ok, Melissa?"

Turning my head so I was facing him. I shook my head, before hiding my face again, and he rubbed my back. Letting out a deep breath, I shouldn't let her get to me, and I sat up straight. Turning my head to Derek, he raised his eye brow, and I glanced down at the table. I wonder when Zach is going to get here, and I leaned on my hand.

"Trouble coming again."

I tensed, glancing to see Amanda coming again with Alice right behind her. Letting out a sigh, I looked the other way moving my finger in circles on the table. I could feel them behind me, but I didn't turn around, and I bit my lower lip.

"Will Zach be coming today?"

Everyone stayed quiet, and I glanced around the table to see them staring at her. She really doesn't give up, I wonder what made her so obsessed.

"How come you're so mean to me, but not her."

I felt her presence come closer, and I glanced behind me to see her glaring at me. Frowning, I turned back around, and stared at the table.

"Maybe, because she's not crazy like you."

"I'm not crazy!"

She yelled back, and I felt as Derek moved, and I glanced at him. He had turned around staring at her, and I waited for what he was about to say.

"Normal people don't stalk people, now do they?"

She huffed, and I turned around to see Alice pulling on Amanda's arm.

"Come on, let's go."

"No, I want to see Zach."

"Amanda..."

"No Alice."

Letting a sigh fall from my lips, I then saw Zach come in with another guy. I could feel the smile forming on my face.

"Zach!!!"

I watched as Amanda turned running toward him. I heard Derek sigh, before he stood up, and I glanced at him.

"I'll be right back."

I thought he was going over toward Zach, but he actually went to the food line. Bringing my attention back to Zach, he had a deep scowl on his face. For some reason, I felt I should stand up as well, so I did. Rubbing my arms, I was debating if I should go over there to Zach or not. I don't want that girl causing a seen, but I don't like the idea of him talking to her.

"Zach."

I called out, before I even realized I did it. He turned his head raising an eye brow at me, and I could feel my cheeks turning red. Ok maybe it was stupid to call out to him, and I glanced down then back up at him. He smirked moving passed Amanda, and moving toward me. I think I just dug myself into a grave the way Amanda was glaring at me.

"Hey pretty girl."

Zach was now standing in front of me, and I gave him a little smile.

"Hi."

His friend was back with a chicken biscuit in his hand, I glanced at him, and he raised an eye brow giving me a look over.

"Brah who this."

"Awe man, this Melissa. See what you miss when you get kicked out for dumb shit."

"Whatever, that little shit had it coming."

Taking in his dude for a moment, he was a light brown complexion with deep green eyes. He had dreads that were pulled back with a rubber band, and his lip was pierce. He caught me staring, and a smirk formed on his face.

"She pretty cute, she yours or what."

"Yeah."

Snapping my head back to Zach, he moved wrapping his arm around my waist. Giving it a little squeeze, I looked back at this guy.

"I get it, I get it man. Well Melissa, my name is Terrell, but everybody calls me Terror."

So what should I call him, Terrell or Terror. He smirked at me, before shoving his chicken biscuit in his mouth. Looking away from um... Terrell, I saw Amanda was making her way over toward us. Letting out a little sigh, I leaned into Zach's side, and he glanced down at me.

"What's wrong?"

"Amanda."

He looked up, and Amanda stopped in front of us. Frowning I looked down, and I moved out of Zach's arms going over to the food line as well. I've had enough of Amanda for the day, and I know she was going to start something if I stayed.

Waiting in line, I felt a little irritated. Arms then wrapped around my neck, and I tensed, and I glanced behind me. There Zach was leaning against me with an irritated look on his face, and I leaned back a little.

"Is she gone?"

"I wish."

Letting out a huff, he kissed the side of my neck. It tickled, and I ducked my head, and he removed his arms. He wrapped them around my waist instead, and I caught myself smiling down.

"Listen Melissa."

"Hmm?"

"Does Amanda scare you?"

"A little."

His grip around me tightened, and I felt as he pressed his face into my neck.

"If she does anything to you, come tell me right away."

"Ok."

"I'll protect you, so don't worry about anything."

Biting my lower lip, I touched his arms that was around me.

"Oh and good luck with your benchmark."

"Thanks."

With him holding my like this I feel really safe, I wonder if this is normal.
