Leaning against the lockers, I was waiting for Melissa to get out of class. Everything seemed to have died down now. We have five more days until Amanda returns to school, and I don't think anyone is excited about that. Soon I could feel eyes on me, and I turned my head to see Alice standing there for a moment staring. I wonder what she has been up too, ever since that fight it seems she's been more quiet. Raising an eyebrow at her, she looked away, before turning, and walking down the hall. Letting out a sigh, I soon felt a hand touch my arm. Glancing, Melissa had snuck up beside me, and was now staring at Alice walking away.

Wrapping my arm around her shoulder, she looked at me, before the familiar pink blush fell on her cheeks, and she turned around. Shoving her stuff in her locker, I shoved my hands in my pocket just staring at her. It's been kind of awkward since what happen between us, and I sighed running a hand through my hair. Maybe we're moving too fast or something, but I seriously don't really know what I'm supposed to do with her. Like she's nothing like the other girls that I have dated before, and I glanced down the hall. Catching a glimpse of Derek and Melissa's cousin Catherine, walking down the hall hand in hand. I wonder if they are together or what, but man am I glad she wasn't as obsess about me, because I couldn't deal with Catherine and her.

"Zach?"

Glancing back at Melissa, she cocked her head to the side. I could feel my lips twitch wanting to smile, but I just shook my head.

"Let's go."

Taking her hand, I didn't let her say anything, before pulling her down the hall, and out the school. Making it to my car, I unlocked the door, before getting in. Starting the car, a hand covered mine, and I glanced at Melissa. She was giving me a stern look, before pointing to the seat belt, and I rolled my eyes, before I reached putting it on. Rolling down the windows, it was kind of hot today, and I pulled out of the drive way. Melissa then started talking about something her teacher was telling her, but truth be told I was half listening. My mind kept wandering, and before I knew it I ended up at her house all ready. Once again no one was home, I know what it's like to not have your parents home, but I still had Tiff with me. Melissa usually had no one, and that was just something that didn't sit right with me.

Getting out the car, she walked around giving me a smile, before taking my hand. She unlocked the house, before pulling me inside. Walking up the steps, we went to her room, and she tossed her bag on the desk, as I flopped down on the bed. Man her bed is so comfortable, and I rolled over staring at her. She was taking her shoes off, before glancing back at me.

"Hungry?"

"Always?"

"Staying for dinner?"

"Of course."

She smiled nodding, before walking over toward me, and sat down on the bed. Leaning back, she leaned over my face, and her hair fell over her shoulder touching my cheek. Brushing her hair back, she leaned down, and pressed a soft kiss to my lips, before jerking up. Her cheeks turned red, and I turned leaning on my hand amused.

"I'm going to make a snack, before I make dinner."

"Ok."

Turning on her heel, she went out the door, and I rolled on my stomach pressing my face into the pillow. It smelled like peaches, which is probably the type of shampoo Melissa uses, and I could feel my phone vibrating in my pocket. Answering it without looking, I stifled a yawn.

"What?"

"Nice way to answer the phone."

Turning my head, I put the phone on speaker, before setting it on the pillow.

"What Derek?"

"You at home?"

"No."

"Melissa's?"

"Yeah."

He got quiet for a moment, which was kind of strange for him.

"What's up Derek?"

"Is it alright if I tell Catherine about Amanda and you?"

"What you mean?"

"Like what's really going on?"

"I guess, I don't really care."

"Yeah ok, have you told Melissa."

"No..."

That is probably something that I should tell her soon. Seeming that Amanda doesn't seem to be going to give up anytime soon. I'd rather keep the past in the past, but I guess this is something I will have to tell her if I want her to stay with me.

"Zach?"

"Huh?"

"Man you got too quiet, I thought you hung up."

"Naw, but I'm about to now."

"What?"

Hanging the phone up, I stood up shoving the phone in my pocket. Walking down stairs, I could her talking quietly. Moving around the corner, she had her back to me, and was on the house phone.

"I understand."

....

"It's ok."

....

"I love you too."

It seemed like the more she talked the quieter her voice got, until she hung up the phone. Watching her for a moment, her head was lowered, and her hands were balled up tightly. Must have been her Dad, and I moved wrapping my arms around her neck. She tensed, before leaning back, and I looked at her face to see her eyes closed. We stayed like that for a moment, before she turned around, and hugged me tightly. Giving her a squeeze, she pulled back, and gave a forced smile.

"How about pizza tonight?"

"Sure."

Like we normal, I helped her with her homework, and she complaining to me that I should do mine. We'd then watch TV, before we end up falling asleep, and then getting something to eat. Sitting on the couch, we were waiting for the pizza to get here. My head was in her lap, as she was reading a book she got from the library. My mind started wandering again, as I stared at the TV blankly. My days has been so calming lately. I know usually this would be a good thing, but days like these usually is the calm before the storm. When there was a knock on the door, I lifted my head up, as she got up. Turning sitting up, she soon came in with the pizza box, and smiled.

After eating the pizza, we sat in her room for a few. It was around midnight, which was when I usually leave. Melissa usually would be knocked out by now, but she was steady staring at me as I stared at her. I could feel something was on her mind, but she stubbornly wouldn't tell me. Moving I ran a hand through her hair, before she closed her eyes moving closer. Pressing her face into my chest, I felt as she wrapped her arm around my waist. Smiling into her hair, she mumbled something I couldn't understand.

"Hmm?"

"It's weird."

Leaning back so I could look at her face, she lifted her head.

"What is?"

"Us?"

"How so?"

"I don't know how to explain it really. It's just we haven't even been going out that long, but I'm just so content with your presence. It's like we don't even have to do anything, just laying here like this not saying anything feels so... right."

Staring at her for a moment, her cheeks started to turn red, and she hid her face back in my chest.

"It's strange."

"Not really."

"Really?"

She looked back at me, and I ran a hand through her hair.

"Yeah."

"It's normal to feel content like this, because we're going out."

"Hmm."

She rubbed her face against my chest, before she tried to cover a yawn.

"Go to sleep Melissa."

"Not yet?"

"Why?"

"Because..."

"Because what?"

Pulling away from me, she sat up, before looking down at her hands.

"If I fall asleep... you'll leave."

Raising an eyebrow at her, she lowered her head. Moving closer, I pushed her hair out the way, before cupping her cheek.

"Pretty girl, do you want me to stay?"

Staring into her green eyes, she bit her lip, before nodding her head.

"I feel more relax when you're here."

Staring into her eyes, I gave her a little smile, before standing up.

"If I get in trouble I'm blaming you."

Toeing my shoes off, I pulled my shirt off tossing it on the desk. Taking my phone out, I set it for five, with that time I can get home, and get dress. Putting my phone down, I cut the lights off, and crawled in the bed. Melissa had moved under the covers already, and I soon joined her. Pulling her against me, her hands against my skin made goosebumps form, and I tucked her under my chin.

"Better?"

"Yeah."

She squeezed me tightly, before relaxing in my arms.

"Love you..."

I heard her mumble, and my eyes snapped open. I wonder was I supposed to hear that or not. Pressing a kiss to her forehead, I closed my eyes back, letting out a sigh. I don't think I can tell her those words yet.
