"Who are they? Please tell me Iâm coming," Tristan called out. "Please please please let me come! Now Elisium is boring without any enemies! I want to come with you!"
"Taking you would be a bad idea. Youâre very impulsive. Youâll certainly create a blunder and die. You donât have what it takes to pull a covert mission," A person chimed in before Lucifer could even reply.
As for the person, it was none other than the red-haired lady who was sitting beside Tristan.
"Come on, Jane! You know Iâm not impulsive anymore. When it comes to missions, Iâm really serious. I wonât blow the cover," Tristan replied.
"As for dying, thatâs impossible. They wonât even be able to get close to me without being sliced in half," he further added.
"Iâm sorry Tristan, but Iâm not taking you this time. And itâs not because youâre impulsive. My reasons are different," Lucifer finally declared, disappointing Tristan.
"What reasons then?" Tristan asked.
"Your sword is powerful, and your attacks are fast. Even your own speed is very fast, and you can certainly be good on this mission, but I would need you here instead," Lucifer explained.
"I need someone to support Kellian in keeping this place safe. As you know, the threat of the Warlock Council still looms over this Nation."
" I need powerful people here to keep them at bay in my absence. And who better than you?" he asked, comforting Tristan.
He had learned how to manage his people. Instead of saying that he didnât want Tristan on this mission because his skills didnât suit this mission, he made a different excuse.
"That means Kellian isnât coming with you either? Since you said, I need to support Kellian here?" Tristan asked.
"Thatâs right. He wonât be coming with me either. As I said, I donât want to weaken the defenses of Elisium."
"Thatâs why Iâm only taking a small team. The team consists of only three peopleâ I, Salazar, and Caen," Lucifer replied.
He declared the team he had selected, which shocked quite a few people.
Firstly, people on the left were surprised that he was taking Caen with him, who had the weakest firepower amongst the people present here. Secondly, he was taking Salazar, who they couldnât trust.
Lucifer hadnât selected even a single powerful Warlock from Uprising to take with him.
At least thatâs what people on the left side of the table were thinking.
As for the people on the right side, they had a completely different thought process. Salazar knew that he was coming, but he could see why Lucifer would be taking Caen.
He wasnât disappointed with the selection, but he was certainly amazed that Lucifer didnât select more.
Alicia and Cassius were shocked since they believed they would be going with Lucifer.
Cassius had especially believed that he would be coming with Lucifer. He couldnât believe that he was being left behind.
Uzuki was relieved that he didnât have to go. He didnât care who went and who didnât. All he knew was that he could relax in Elisium and enjoy.
As for Jiang, he was also happy that Lucifer hadnât selected him.
"Are you sure you donât want to take more? I think you should at least take Dallas or Yaliza with you," Kellian suggested, thinking that Lucifer should have selected at least one more person.
"I already thought long and hard about it. Three people should be enough," Lucifer explained.
"The Divine Empire isnât an ordinary place where we can enter with force. I can certainly take all of you if I wanted, but that would just mean more risk."
"If any of you are caught, youâll become a servant of theirs to be used against me," he continued. "I canât have that happen."
" Thatâs why I only selected people accordingly. Salazar can slow down the time and attacks in his surroundings, which helps him keep himself safe. He can also slow down the others," he further added.
" So heâs the safest there. And even if he is lost and turned, I can stop his powers any time. Thereâs no risk of taking him."
"As for Caen, he doesnât have any firepower, but thatâs alright. I wonât be using him for any heavy lifting."
"I have the confidence to keep him safe too. And even if he somehow does and turns, I can take care of it. His powers arenât something that can be used to hurt me."
"Any other questions?" Lucifer asked after finishing his explanation.
No one said anything. It seemed like Lucifer had already decided. If he wasnât listening to Kellian, he wasnât going to listen to anyone else.
As for Cassius and Alicia, they decided to talk to him in private to convince him to take them.
Seeing no opposition, Lucifer nodded. "Itâs final then. Now we only need to decide how weâll get to that place."
"From what we know so far, that place is inside the mountainous region, and no commercial flights are allowed to enter that place. We canât get you in that way," Kellian said.
"That Empire isnât near the sea either. So you canât go through the sea route. That leaves only one option for you, which would be slightly hard as well."
Lucifer already knew what Kellian was talking about. He also knew that there was only one option left for them. He didnât interfere and let him talk.
Pushing the chair behind, Kellian stood up and walked over to the wall where a big map was hanging. He also picked a stick from nearby.
"The map you see in front of you is the continent of Darkness. Itâs a massive continent which is nearly as large as ours."
"However, only three nations exist in the Continent of Darkness, excluding the Divine Empire!"
"The nation in the North is the biggest. Itâs known as Gallium. Itâs a powerful nation known for its military might. Itâs said that this nation is ruled by one of Milenaâs minions. Itâs indirectly a part of the Divine Empire, just not on the papers!"
"The Nation on the south is the second Nation which is a small nation. Itâs not even one-tenth the size of Gallium, but itâs pretty useful."
"Itâs the nation which controls the fishing industry and their transfer to other nations. Itâs the only nation which is close to the sea."
"We can enter this nation through the sea, but the problem is that the distance between it and the Divine Empire is too long. You will have to travel five thousand kilometers alone to get to the Divine Empire."
"That leaves only one option..."
