Chapter 147
Belong to the Lycan Alpha
Lilac walked slowly toward the inner cell. She could smell blood very thick in the air and another pungent smell. that would make your stomach protested, but her mind was too occupied with something else for her to care about that.
She took a deep breath before she appeared in front of Kellan cell and saw with her own eyes what kind of torture that he had gone through. Her heart lurched.
People always said that the lycan was barbaric and for a moment, she forgot about all of that because of the way Hunter treated her, but now she understood what it meant when they said they were barbaric.
Hunter had warned her as well before that she might not like the sight she was seeing, but she was simply stubborn and now she had to witness it with her own eyes.
EL As if he sensed someone, Kellan raised his head and when he did so, Lilac saw his eyes had been gauged out of his sockets, leaving two holes that kept bleeding, it seemed they kept inflicting pain on the same spot.
The horror of it would be forever engraved in Lilacâs mindâ¦.
Both Kellanâs hands were shackled to the chain that attached to the wall behind him, so did his ankle, he couldnât move and would forever stand like that.
Aside from his hollow eyes, he lost a few of his fingers too. When the fire flickered and you could see him clearer, you could see how much wounds he sustained and for a lycan to not be able to heal from those wounds, which meant, they inflicted them very often.
Lilac forgot what she wanted to ask, neither she remembered why she was here in the first place. She was too scared to see Kellanâs current condition. Hunter had warned her, but this was beyond her wildest imagination.
But, before she could leave, Kellan started to speak. His voice was rough and harsh, it echoed inside this cold and dark cells.
âWho is it!?â he growled.
Lilac should continue to leave this place. She only needed to keep walking away, but for some reason, her feet didnât want to cooperate and she stood there like a In O fool, trembling for ridiculous reason. Kellan couldnât hurt her, what else she needed to be afraid about?
âWho is there?! I know there is someone there! Who is it?!â Kellan sniffed the air, he frowned. He couldnât see anymore, but his other senses worked just fine. âHunter?â The scent was not right, but he knew that he smelled a trace of his scent from whoever this person was.
Lilac took a deep breathe, she tried to calm herself down, though it was not easy at all. She kept trembling, but she decided to walk back and have this conversation. She was already here, why not continue?
âItâs not Hunter. Itâs me, Lilac.â Lilac was very grateful that her voice was not trembling like her body, she sounded brave.
âLilac..â Kellan tasted the name in his tongue before he guffawed. âYou must be Hunterâs little bit ch!e.
The name calling was definitely not necessary. It shouldnât have hurt Lilac, but to know this was her own father, who called her like that, there was this discomfort in her heart.
âWhy did you abandon your daughter?â Lilac started, she tried to ignore his rude way to address her.
âWhy did you abandon your daughter?â She repeated the same question.
âI have never abandoned my daughter. She is she is the greatest thing that happened in my life.â Kellan coughed loudly.
âI didnât talk about Grace. I talked about your other daughter that you abandoned years ago. she was only a little girl, but you left her to fend for herself. How could you do that?â
Kellan was silent for a while, as if he was trying to retrieve an unpleasant memory. âWho are you?â he finally had the decency to ask.
âYou donât need to know about that, I only wanted to know what the reason. How could a father abandon his own flesh and blood and didnât have a nightmare when he slept at night.â
âImpossibleâ¦â Kellan said in whispery tone, he couldnât believe this at all. âNo way.â
âWhy did you do it?â
âAre you coming back here to get some kind of revenge on me?â
âWhy did you do it?â Lilac only wanted to know the reason behind his action, she she could understand his standpoint.
But, the answer was something she didnât expect at all.
âBecause you are not supposed to be born. You shouldnât have been born. She should have killed you when you were still in her womb.â Kellan then laughed, as if he had entered his crazy state. âShe is not even my mate⦠it meant, she was nothing at all⦠just like youâ¦â
Lilac bit her lip, she didnât know what to feel when she met with Kellan. The thought of meeting her father one day was already a complicated feeling, let alone having the one that turned into a traitor.
âSo, you are that little bi châ¦â Kellan grinned. His pain was forgotten for a while, because he found a way to torture Hunter. âHm⦠I still can remember your face. I should have recognized you right away because you are like your mother.â
The word gave a jolt in Lilacâs heart. âWhere is my mother? Who is my mother?â If her father was a sh itty person, there was a chance her mother was not, right?
âShe is dead.â Kellan guffawed. He threw his head back and laughed, ridiculing his flesh and blood.
Lilac was only a silly woman, who didnât know what the world was. âShe is dead, dead! Do you want to know how she died?â
Outside of the door, Hunter heard a shrill scream from his woman, this was a bone chilling scream that could send shiver down your spine.
