12:34 “A woman’s wrath is very scary,” alpha Ramon said with a chuckle. He stared at Ruby in front of him.

He rapped his fingers against the table next to him, his eyes fixed on her.

Ruby just gave birth to a son, but her body was as slim as before she was pregnant, there was no baby weight on her, it could be considered as she lost her weight so easily, or maybe because of what she had to endure all this time, it simply weighed her down, caused her to lose so much weight without even trying.

It was good, but bad at the same time.

“Will you do it?” Ruby asked. She didn’t want to talk about anything else, because she wanted to leave this room as soon as possible. Her hands were trembling, this must be the first time she did something very risky.

“I will do it.” Alpha Ramon nodded. “You gave me a very tempting offer, how could I not?”

Ruby nodded as well. “There is nothing to talk about then. I will wait for what you will do on the trial.”

She wanted to flee, but she stilled her heart and took her step slowly, showing that this didn’t bother her at all.

“Wait!” Alpha Ramon stopped her before she could reach the door. Her body froze, but she turned around as casual as possible. “I wonder what made you do this? Did he treat you that bad? He even left his own mate for you and your son.”

Ruby scoffed, she wanted to curse if she could, but she held her tongue and simply replied with the truth. “He didn’t leave her because he wanted to, Lilac was the one, who rejected him, so he didn’t have any other choice, but to settle with me.”

The truth was so painful.

Alpha Ramon looked a little bit taken aback by how honest Ruby was. He didn’t expect she would answer him in that way, so he was a little bit flustered and before he could say something else, Ruby had turned around and then left the room. She didn’t give the alpha a chance to question her anymore.

Once he was alone, alpha Ramon laughed, he felt like he had made a fool out of himself. “Such interesting woman.”

He agreed to help Ruby because he had a grudge against Aiden. Something that happened years ago, but even now, he still couldn’t forget about it completely.

This deal would benefit him more than it did to Ruby.

For Ruby, once she managed to get out of the room, she felt her heart was about to burst. She leaned against the wall and panted, clutching her chest because she couldn’t breathe properly. It was very scary. It was scary because she knew she had done something completely wrong.

It took a while for Ruby to calm herself down, she was still trembling, but she already felt better now.

But, she jumped out of her skin when someone called her name.

“Ruby? What are you doing here?” James asked, he was walking around the garden when he saw her figure. He wanted to avoid her, but she looked like she was going to pass out any minute. “Are you, okay?”

Ruby sighed deeply and then nodded. “I am fine, alpha,” she said once she found her voice again.

“What are you doing here alone?”

“I-I…” Ruby stuttered for a while, but she cleared her throat and answered him. “I wanted to get some fresh air, that’s why I am here.” She licked her dried lips. “Alpha, what are you doing here?”

“I used to walk around when I am thinking.” James sighed. He just confronted Aiden again, but his son became a disappointment for him. Not to mention Jasmine didn’t help at all. He should have known this since the beginning that the way Jasmine treated their son would be an issue in the future and now, he reaped what he sowed.

“Are you, okay alpha?” Ruby asked with concern in her voice because the troubled look on his face was hard to conceal.

“I am fine,” James replied, he smiled awkwardly at her.

“Do you want to walk with me?” Ruby grimaced. “I used to walk around too when I was thinking of something…”

James wanted to reject her, because it didn’t seem appropriate for him to be seen with her, but then when he saw her pitiful face and knew how his son treated her, he didn’t have a heart.

“Sure. Let’s walk,”

12:34 Hunter stared at his mate dotingly, he caressed her cheeks and kissed the tip of her nose to wake her up. They were already arrived at the Golden Claw pack since an hour ago, but none of them came out of the carriage because Lilac was still sleeping and the alpha lycan didn’t have a heart to wake her up.

“Little one, until when will you sleep?” Hunter nudged her chubby cheek.

They were going out of the pack in hurry because they had to leave in last minute because of their ceremony, for that, they couldn’t announce Lilac’s pregnancy, thus they needed to wait until they returned.

It was an important announcement thus they needed to take care of it carefully.

“Hunter, Lilac! Are you still inside? What are you two doing?” Rye was being impatient. If it was only Hunter inside the carriage, he would have opened the door and dragged him out of there, but because Lilac was still inside, he was afraid, it would be him, who got the heart attack. “I have been waiting under the sun for so long! I almost dry!”

“Hm?” Lilac furrowed her brows because of Rye’s voice. She finally opened her eyes.
