Aiden felt the anger that surge within his b*dy when he watched how Lilac readily answered every question honestly. She didn’t even try to deny it, neither she tried to save herself by begging, pleading with him not to throw her out of the pack.

Why she acted tough? She didn’t have anyone aside from this pack, what she could do if she was really banished from the pack?

Deep down, Aiden didn’t really want to banish her, he only wanted to scare her and let her have a taste of some punishment, so she could keep her act together, but more so because he felt this anger within his chest when he learned that she had been sleeping in someone else’s bed. God forbade what he was going to do if he learned they were doing something inappropriate, “Did you sleep with him?” Alpha James asked, his voice darkened a little bit. He narrowed his eyes.

“I don’t know. I slept throughout the night because I was so drunk. More so, I thought I was inside the room that luna Jasmine took me in, but then I saw alpha Hunter once I woke up.”

Lilac didn’t even tremble when she told them about all of this.

“You know what kind of damage that you have done for your action, right?” Alpha James looked like he was trying so hard to keep his temper in check, because he didn’t want to escalate things further than this. He had not yet decided what he had to believe and what to do.

Of course, banishment was out of the table. He wouldn’t banish Lilac over something like this, especially after what his son had done to her.

“Why didn’t you take her to her bedroom, Jasmine?” alpha James asked his mate and luna Jasmine startled a little when she answered that, she regained her composure quickly, “I didn’t think much about it,” Luna Jasmine said. “I only want her to rest quickly and the room was so close.” The answer was smooth, as if she was genuine with what she was saying and none of them asked further about her motive.

“I thank luna Jasmine for looking after me,” Lilac said sincerely, but luna Jasmine looked uneasy when she said she didn’t need to mention it.

“We need to call alpha Hunter to clear things up, alpha James said sternly. “We need to know why you ended up with him, since you can’t remember anything about last night,”

Lilac could see how alpha James was trying to be just, but she was too exhausted and spent to waste her time here for this ridiculous accusation. She couldn’t care less about it. More so, it was none of Aiden’s business anymore with whom she was sleeping with.

“I don’t think this is necessary,” Lilac said in small voice, but what she said attracted attention from all the people, especially Aiden, who was standing right beside her.

“What do you mean it’s not necessary? Don’t you want to clear your name?” luna Jasmine asked in confusion.

“Why should I clear my name when I didn’t do anything wrong?” Lilac could feel her grievances resurfaced and the more she spent her time close to Aiden, the more she couldn’t stop herself from being so upset.

Before, his letter alone could bring comfort toward her, but right now, the sight of him alone had drained Lilac’s energy.

“What do you mean you didn’t do anything wrong when you were sleeping with another man when you have a mate already?! You tarnish our pack’s good name!” Aiden barked angrily at Lilac.

However, just like before, Lilac didn’t really listen to him, as she stared at him straight into his soul, while speaking in gentle voice.

“What about you, who had impregnated woman that is not your mate?” Lilac asked casually.

Aiden wanted to humiliate her in front of so many people and wanted to put her down, devalued her, but she wouldn’t go down alone.

“LILAC!” Aiden screamed on the top of his lungs dangerously.

And before anyone could react, a harsh slap landed on Lilac’s face, which caused her to fall to the ground. while clutching her cheek. No one saw this coming, including Aiden. He didn’t mean to slap her, but he lost his temper a little there and did something that he had never done before.

Hitting a woman was not something that could make you proud of yourself, especially toward your mate.

“Li–lilac.. are you, okay? I didn’t mean too… I was so angry.

There, Aiden didn’t even apologize for what he had done. Not only he didn’t take the accountability of his action, but also he didn’t have the decency to apologize first. It seemed this particular word would be something that one never heard from his mouth.

“Are you, okay?” Aiden saw how red Lilac’s cheek was, but her eyes set with fire, as she glared viciously at Aiden The force of Aiden’s slap, sent Lilac to the ground.

This was the first time for Aiden to receive such hostility from Lilac. It was a surprise because this young woman used to talk with hirm with respect and love in her eyes, but right now, those beautiful eyes were so dimmed.

Right at that moment, Hunter walked into the main hall, he strode with his beta beside him. “I don’t know there is another meeting again here,”

“This is none of your concern!” Aiden was fuming to see Hunter was there.

“Shouldn’t I be here because of what happened and the groundless thing that you have accused Lilac, involved me.” Hunter walked toward Lilac and helped her to get up on her feet, under dozen pair of eyes…

However, ignoring Hunter’s presence, Lilac spoke in small voice, but it was enough for all of them to hear what she was going to say.

“I reject you as my mate,” Lilac said clearly.
