“You sound jealous, Lilac.” Hunter gave her a sweet smile, as if he was happy with the reaction that he got from her.

“Don’t be ridiculous.” Lilac glared at him and then groaned when she sat down, the pain on her back was annoying now.

“Okay…” Hunter drawled the answer, which Lilac tried to ignore. He clearly was not convinced with her answer, but then.. whatever. “Eat slowly.”

Lilac smelled the soup and then drank it slowly after she blew it to cool it off. It was very tasty. Maybe the tastiest food that she had ever eaten. Luna Jasmine always gave her a strict diet and she was not allowed to eat anything that was very savory.

“I can see how good the food is to make you smile like that.” Hunter leaned his back against one of the poles of the bed, as he crossed his arms. After the gloomy looked on his face had finally disappeared, you could see his tired eyes.

The alpha had not yet slept a blink, since last night, because he took care of Lilac, making sure she wouldn’t turn her b*dy and lay down on her back, because it would aggravate her wound and disrupt her healing process.

“Yeah, the food is good, at least.” Lilac had to admit it.

“Thank you.”

Lilac raised her head and saw that stupid grin on Hunter’s l*ps. “You don’t need to take the credit for that.”

“If it is not me, who will take the credit then?” Hunter watched how Lilac’s mind started to think harder and the realization hit her, thus before she could say it, he took the pleasure to admit it first. “I am the one, who cooked that food. I am great, right?”

“You praised yourself too much. I thought an alpha should be a humble person.”

“Who told you that shit? Of course, we need to be humble, to keep our head from being too large for our shoulders, but the other people should know the strength we have. It’s important to keep them in check, so they wouldn’t stomp on our head.

Lilac frowned, but she said nothing about it. In a way, she agreed with that statement, which was weird for her to agree with anything with him after such revelation.

“Who is that woman?” Lilac finally brought up the topic again, because her curiosity side was killing her.

She wanted to know how far the relationship between the two of them, until she had the intention to kill her.

“Grace. I told you she was my childhood friend. We slept together two years ago, I was drunk and she was near me, so it happened and the second time because she kept pestering me and it happened again, but after that, I don’t like how she thought we were exclusive, so I made sure to let her know I have no intention to make her my woman.”

“Don’t tell me because you were looking for me.”

“Bingo.”

“Very touchy.” Lilac was being sarcastic when she said that, but Hunter only smiled.

“I know. I was rather dumb and stupid. I want to say proudly that I saved myself for you, but unfortunately that was not what happened, but at the same time, I couldn’t lie to you. I don’t want to lie to you.”

Lilac sighed deeply. “And then, why she is still thinking that you are into her?”

“She was the last woman I am with.”

“The twenty nine?”

Hunter shook his head. “You will be my last. You always be my first and now you will be my last.”

“Shouldn’t we even the score?” Lilac didn’t know where she got this idea, but it just dew in her mind and it sl*pped on her l*ps. “Shouldn’t I be with another twenty nine men first before I am with you?”

Hunter let out a low growl, it sounded very dangerous and filled with rage. “I will be a hypocrite if I don’t agree with that, but I don’t mind it at all. You can call me that if you want, but if you touched another man, he will be unfortunate enough to not be able to see tomorrow.”

“Hunter!” Lilac felt chill down her spine.

“I know you will not do that, Lilac. That’s not how you are raised. That’s not the things that you believed.” Hunter’s voice softened when he spoke again. “You will not bring yourself to do that, Lilac. I bet my life on that.”

“If you believed I will not do that, why were you very angry?” Lilac mumbled, she shoved the meat into her mouth.

“Because the thought of you really doing that makes me go insane.”

“You are hypocrite.”

“I am.”

Lilac took a deep breath, she didn’t want to have this topic anymore. “What happened to Grace?”

“I put her in the dungeon and she will not come out until a few decades.”

“What?” Lilac was surprised. “That punishment is a little bit… to harsh, don’t you think?”

“If we have already a ceremony and you become the luna of the pack, what she had done will guarantee her a death sentence on the spot, Lilac.”
