Chapter 25: 25

The Aftermath with my History TeacherWords: 8871

**Dasha's POV**

**Two months later**

It was officially August and the whole group of us had moved out to Cali and were in a routine. Tyson was moving out within the next month or two after he settled some more things at home. Rose and Sean lived about twenty minutes from us and we had dinner with them frequently.

I had scored a job working for some vet clinics and helping them advertise their services. It was a different atmosphere than what I imagined but it was great experience.

Right as I walked in from walking the dogs Hayden called from the kitchen. "Rose and Sean should be here soon. And dinner is almost ready."

"Great! I'll join you in a few minutes," I rushed upstairs to change.

My hair was a mess as I tried to pull it back into a ponytail and felt my vision blur for a moment and nausea hit me.

"Fuck," I spun around and aimed at the toilet as everything came up and my mind began racing. I was probably just dehydrated after running around all day and then taking the dogs out. I had been slightly sick and was taking antibiotics to clear out whatever was in my system, but the vomiting should've stopped by now.

I brushed my teeth and walked downstairs, making sure I went slow. Hayden was finishing the vegetables that would accompany the steak we were having for dinner and my stomach rolled.

"Hey baby?" I opened the fridge to grab some water.

"What's up?" His back was to me while I swallowed the water and felt another wave hit.

"Um... I don't think I'm going to eat dinner."

He put the vegetables onto a plate and turned around, "everything okay?"

"Yeah, I think I'm just dehydrated and it's not helping with whatever I have going on. My stomach just feels... hot."

"Hmm... should I call Rose and cancel?"

"No, I'm okay. I just need to lie down I think, and not eat."

"Okay," he put the rest of the food on plates before joining me on the couch.

"Is there something else going around at work?"

"Someone had strep, and I know a few of the pets were going around with something but that's not contagious for people. I think it's just with being busy and trying to get everything together. Granted I haven't really drank much today so I may just be dehydrated."

"Here," Hayden placed a trashcan near the side of the couch. "Just in case. We should have some Gatorade around here, I'll go look."

I smiled weakly and pulled a blanket over me as he went to answer the door when the dogs began barking.

"You guys act like we never show up," Rose teased the pups when they walked in. "Dasha you look... like hell."

I brushed the sweat from the back of my neck and smiled weakly. "Well I just threw up so I'm sure I look very attractive."

Sean frowned, "should we leave?"

"No, Hayden already made dinner. I'm just going to skip, that's all."

Rose seemed to be thinking something but held her tongue as they followed Hayden into the dining room. I took a few more sips before joining them.

Rose pulled me aside before we sat down and whispered, "you don't think you're..."

"No, I literally just had my period. I've only been off three days. It's just because of the antibiotics and moving around so much." My heart was racing at the thought of being pregnant, now would not be the best timing.

"Okay, I just had to ask since I kinda looked the same way you did..." she looked at the guys who were grabbing beers from the fridge. "We're trying again."

"Wait what?"

"I mean... not like completely, but Sean told me the other day he wouldn't mind having a kid. I know we literally just graduated, and that he and I aren't married or anything but..."

"I understand," because in all honesty I did. Loving someone so much to where you just wanted to spend every second with them and get life started with them made sense. I couldn't imagine going through this journey with anyone but Hayden.

We took our seats as everyone began to dig in and I just continued sipping my water. There was a bottle of red Gatorade right beside my plate which I fully intended on finishing.

"So you've made it through your first week of classes, what do you think Hayden? Are they brighter than us?"

Hayden chuckled, "considering most of them are freshman, not likely. At least it's a ten o'clock class so they're a little more coherent. But my afternoon classes are a bit brighter, they actually enjoy talking about history, even if they're not history majors."

"That's because you're just that great of a teacher." I squeezed his hand.

"What about you two? Still enjoying work? I saw your segment the other day on the air Rose."

"Yeah," she blushed, "I'm still getting the hang of it but I love it. I'm learning more than anything so it's been great to figure out things as I go along."

Sean grabbed another helping of sides, "mines pretty good. I like my boss more than most of the coworkers, but it could just be the department I'm in. I've considered transferring to a different section, but I need to figure out if that would be wise or not."

"I'm sure you'll get your answer soon." Hayden replied and dropped two small pieces of steak for the dogs. They both came running over to where he was and remained there for a few minutes.

"So... whatever happened with Patrick?" Rose looked over at me.

"I got another restraining order put into place, but that's about it. We did something before any claims could be made at the school. So for now, we're safe."

"Does he know y'all moved?"

"Not with the way we planned things. I stayed tight-lip about it on campus, only my boss knew I was leaving of course. And my old place is still being used by my sister now. She took a job closer to there instead of Duran, so she's taking over the place with her boyfriend and another friend."

"That's awesome! I'm glad to hear that."

"Oh, don't forget that we need to meet with the wedding planner this week about food and finalizing table placement for guests." Hayden placed his hand on my thigh.

"Yeah, I'll make sure to request off work when we go back home to get some more details worked out.

"I should be getting my dress next week!" Rose gushed, "I cannot wait to try it on again."

"Yeah they really did turn out great." The dresses the girls had picked out were floor length and the exact same shade as Hayden's eyes. Each was a little different style with the sleeves and bust but still the same concept.

I felt another wave roll through while excusing myself to the bathroom. Leaning my face on the seat, I couldn't help but laugh at the irony of looking like I was hung over.

Sitting there for about five minutes was long enough to see nothing was coming out. But I couldn't figure out how to get the feeling to die down at least, it was a bit too uncomfortable.

When I made my way back into the dining room, I helped Hayden clear the plates.

"We'll go ahead and go home since you're not feeling good Dash. Let us know if you need something." Rose squeezed my shoulder.

"I will, thank you." Washing the plates kept me busy for a few minutes as Hayden put the food up.

"Can I get you anything?"

"Can you run a hot bath? I'm probably going to go to bed after I wash off."

"Sure thing," he kissed my head while the dogs stayed by my feet in hopes that I would drop more food.

"Sorry guys, there's nothing left." Putting the plates up, I went upstairs as they trailed behind and went over to their bed in our bedroom.

"It's nearly ready," Hayden called when I stepped in and began undressing.

"Thank you." I retreated back into the bathroom one last time to clear everything out of my system and sighed.

Pulling a box from the cabinet, I grabbed two white sticks and shrugged, why not. It's not like I didn't check this periodically to make sure I wasn't.

I set them both on the counter after I finished before standing up. My eyes closed for a moment to ensure I wasn't going to blackout again.

When I saw the two small stripes on both sticks I immediately sat down on the floor and felt a silent scream rip through me. No fucking way.

"It's false, there's no way." I breathed and slid them back into the box. I would check again tomorrow. How on earth was I going to tell Hayden if I was?

Hayden had left me the bathroom to myself as I slid into the tub and put my hands consciously over my abdomen. What if I was? I already had bought my wedding dress, and it was going to have to be altered if...

Fuck. The antibiotics. I slid further into the water and felt tears form because I knew that I most likely was pregnant. As happy as I was supposed to be right now, I was terrified. Why hadn't I thought of this earlier...

"Just check tomorrow, and call Rose then." I breathed and closed my eyes. There was nothing I could do further tonight but wait.

**So this has been planned for awhile.... but I wasn't sure how I wanted to exactly write it out. Don't worry IF she is she won't lose the baby. But I really can't wait to see your comments now ;) I apologize for it being short!**
