*Dasha*
I knew that Hayden and I already seemed like a married couple, but this moment was going to change all of that. Nina had just returned from going to check on Hayden, just to ensure he was "ready" she teased me. All I could think about was the fact that I would be seeing him in a tux, crying most likely while I tried to walk straight down an aisle. Who would've thought I would be getting married.
"Your mother is going to be a mess, as is ours," Nina straightened her hair and slipped her shoes off. "You look absolutely beautiful Dasha."
I rubbed my belly gently and felt the blush return to my cheeks. Honestly being pregnant while getting married was probably the greatest thing that happened to me. Everyone always kept telling me I was glowing and most days I saw it now. My dress had been taken out a little bit more last minute just to ensure Squirt wouldn't feel constricted. It may have sounded stupid but I was doing my best to make sure he was as safe and comfortable as possible.
Both my mother and mother in law entered the room and stopped when they saw me. My small veil was resting against my hair and I couldn't stop smiling at myself in the mirror. I was finally marrying Hayden.
"Oh honey," my mom wiped her eyes and came over to hug me gently and finish straightening up my dress. "You look so stunning."
"Thank you mom." I wiped my eyes, afraid to smear the makeup that had just been placed on by the artist. "How is everything looking over there?"
"Good. Your father called and said family and friends are nearly there. We have some time."
I nodded and picked up my bouquet, full of roses, peonies and eucalyptus leaves.
The venue we had decided on was further north in San Francisco at a country club type place with a beautiful view of the water and trees surrounding. I was hoping the weather would stay somewhat nice and not overcast for us to do the photo shoot outside before going back in for the reception and such.
"We're going to go ahead and head that direction to make sure everything is good to go," Nina hugged me gently and grabbed Darina's hand. "Rose do you want to join?"
"Yeah, I'll go too. Give you and your mom some time together," she could already see the tears my mom was trying to blink back.
When everyone exited I immediately sat down in a chair and sighed. "Is it normal to feel this nervous?"
"I was just as nervous as you were on my wedding day. However I believe your father was more nervous than me. For all I know, he probably assumed I wouldn't walk down the aisle."
"Mom!"
"That's just how scared he was," she laughed gently. "It was different back then, and with how we had met and everything... it just made sense."
"How's Ellen?"
"She's fine baby, don't worry about that today. It's your wedding, but I know she's happy to be here and to see you walk down the aisle." She stroked my hair and rearranged the veil, "how is Squirt feeling?"
"Good," I smiled really big and shook my head, "I wanted to wait to tell everyone, but you deserve to know. We found out the gender."
My mom covered her mouth, while I continued, "we're having a boy. And we're going to name him Ryder Calum Blaze."
"Dasha, that's beautiful." Her arms encircled me tightly and she tried to keep her tears from falling onto my dress. "I can't wait to meet little Ryder."
"Don't tell dad, I promise to tell him after the wedding."
"I'll keep it a secret." She bent down and patted my bump. "Hi Ryder, this is your grandma. We cannot wait to meet you little one."
A knock sounded on the door as my wedding photographer poked her head in. "We have about twenty minutes before we need you over at the venue. Just wanted to let you know. And did you want photos now or downstairs of you and your mother?"
"Thank you Patricia, and now is fine! Let us make sure we don't look so emotional," I teased and gave my mom a few tissues before turning back to look into the mirror. Today was a whirlwind of emotions but this was one of the happiest days of my life.
Patricia snapped a few photos of us while my mom pretended to fix my dress and I just continued to hold my stomach. Just saying my son's name over and over in my mind seemed unreal. It wouldn't be much longer until we met him.
"Let's go ahead and try the staircase."
Mentally I was already imagining the wedding and seeing Hayden standing at the end of the aisle, smiling and waiting for me to walk into his arms. This was my happily ever after.
"Are you ready Dasha?"
"Sorry what?" I refocused on Patricia's camera for another photo.
"I believe we can save the rest of the photos for the ceremony and after. Let's get you over there."
The bridesmaids were all lined up and ready to walk outside while waiting for the music to start. Darina would be the first to walk out as she looked back at me and mouthed, "breathe."
Smiling, I took another breath and heard "A Thousand Years" begin to play.
My dad squeezed my shoulder as the girls slowly filed out the door and into the courtyard. "I can't tell you how proud your mother and I am of you."
"Thanks dad," I hugged him tightly and felt Ryder kick my belly.
"I think Squirt is ready," he chuckled and held his arm out. "Are you ready?"
Nodding, I asked him the same. "Are you?"
"I've been waiting for this moment since the day you were born."
"I love you dad."
The doors opened back up as we began to make our way towards the altar. I felt my breath catch seeing Hayden standing there. His expression was most likely mirroring mine while I walked towards him. It felt like I had tunnel vision as I made my way up to him and felt my dad give me one last hug.
Hayden held out his hand while I took it and stepped towards him to face the preacher. This was it.
In the back of my mind I was glad this was all being video recorded because I couldn't focus on anything else but feeling Hayden's hands in mine and being surrounded by everyone we loved.
"And now for the vows."
Turning to face Hayden, I felt the tears begin to fall as I started reciting.
"I Dasha, take you Hayden, to be my husband. I pledge myself to you, to have and to hold, for better or worse. For richer or poorer, in sickness and in health. To love and to cherish, as long as we both shall live."
Hayden repeated the vows and mouthed, "Ryder" during it all while I squeezed his hands tightly.
As soon as the rings were placed on our hands, I waited as patiently as possible for the okay to be given for him to kiss me.
"By the order vested in me and the state of California, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Hayden, you may kiss your bride."
Hayden stepped closer and kissed me hard while dipping me down. I smiled through the kiss and held on tightly while everyone made noise in the background. I was officially Dasha Blaze.
"I now introduce to you, Mr. and Mrs. Hayden Blaze."
**I'm sorry it took so long to update. I wanted to make sure I had this scene perfectly thought out. The picture is of Dasha's dress, I thought it was beautiful and definitely her style!**
