Chapter 7: 7

The Aftermath with my History TeacherWords: 7516

I had driven to the store to get a pregnancy test and called Tyson. Rose begged me not to call Sean until we knew for sure, but I needed to know what the issue was between them.

"Hey Dasha what's up?"

"What's going on between Rose and Sean? Do you know?"

"Uh... One second."

There was background noise that died out as a door was shut and Tyson began walking. "Sorry I was at a friends. I don't really know what is going on between them. All I know is Sean is acting strange about their future and hasn't even touched Rose in the past few days. Did they have an argument or something?"

"I don't know..." I shook my head while driving back to my apartment. "Tyson if I tell you something you can't say anything. Got it?"

"Is she breaking up with him?"

"No... But he may if he finds out she's pregnant."

"Rose is pregnant!"

"I'm not one hundred percent sure but we're about to see. Just... Try to get through to Sean in the meantime. I don't know what else to do until we see what our options are."

"Okay... Wow, yeah. I'll... I'll talk to him."

"Remember not one word, for now."

"Got it."

I hung up and rested my head on the steering wheel before walking inside. There was no easy way to go about what we were going to do.

Rose was sitting on the couch with her hands clasped tightly when I walked in. She wouldn't look me in the eye as I handed her the box.

"There's nothing to be ashamed of you know. Hayden and I do it too..."

"I know... But you're careful, I don't know what may have happened."

I shook my head, "before we get any ideas let's just see okay?"

She nodded and went into the bathroom to perform the task before waiting.

"How many of these should we...?"

"We could do the whole box if need be." I reassured her through the door as she waited a few moments before saying anything.

"Rose, can you open up so I see?"

"Hang on."

The door opened a few seconds later as she laid three sticks on the counter. Her legs bounced up and down as she sat on the edge of the tub.

I gripped her hand and sat beside her as we waited a couple of minutes before checking the sticks. This was going to determine the rest of our lives right here and her relationship with Sean.

"Dasha if I'm... Will Sean stay with me?"

"If he doesn't, Tyson and I will kill him. He has a responsibility now if you are."

She took a deep breath and got up to look at the results as I stood up slowly. I prayed she wasn't pregnant but knew if she was I would be there for her regardless.

"At least on the bright side... We're almost done with school, and you wouldn't have to take time off."

She closed her eyes and nodded as I leaned over and indeed saw that all three read positive.

I wrapped my arms around her and let her cry into my shoulder as I felt my heart shatter. This should've been a time for celebrating but it was far from it.

"I won't go to San Francisco... The baby,"

"You can still go there if you want. The first thing we need to do is confirm with a doctor, and then tell Sean."

"Sean." She sobbed harder as I clutched her to me. This wasn't how I imagined our girls night going, nor the end of our semester.

I moved her to the couch as I began to clean up our food. It was clear the rest of the night was over.

"I'm going to be a mom." Rose murmured quietly as I continued to clean and try to wrap my head around the situation too. I needed to tell Hayden but that would have to wait.

I mean at least she was twenty-three so she had beaten teenage pregnancy statistics. But this didn't mean raising a child was going to be any easier since she had loans to pay off like any other college student.

"Oh God what am I going to tell my parents?" She gasped and laid her phone on the table.

"We won't tell anyone anything yet." I tried reassuring her even though Tyson already knew something was up. "Hayden could call one of his friends who's a doctor. She can prescribe prenatal vitamins for you to get started on."

Rose just nodded and pushed her phone even farther away from her. "I think I'm just going to lie down. I don't really know what to think right now."

"I'll be here if you need anything." I told her and put the rest of the dishes into the dishwasher. "You're not alone Rose."

"I know, thanks Dash." She walked down the hall to her bedroom and closed it quietly.

I went to my bedroom and dialed Hayden's number while shutting the door. I needed some amount of privacy when revealing the news.

"Hello?"

"Hey."

"Hey sweetheart, how was girls night?"

"It was... Eventful to say the least."

"Oh, did something happen?" Hayden seemed to be frowning on the other end as I flipped onto my bed.

"Yeah... I need to get ahold of whichever friend of yours is a doctor for some specific vitamins Rose needs to start taking."

"What kind of vitamins Dasha?"

"Prenatal."

"Prenatal..." He paused, unsure of what to say next.

"Sean doesn't know, and we're not one hundred percent sure. But after we take her to the doctor... We'll probably need them."

"I see. Well let me know how I can help in the meantime. How is she holding up?"

"She's in shock." I dropped my voice to a whisper in case she could hear. "It's actually terrifying to see her this quiet."

"I can imagine. Well keep me posted on what happens."

"I promise." Closing my eyes I tried to push away the past few hours from my mind. There was so much to worry about right now this was just adding onto the stress of it all. Arrangements would have to be made for when we fitted Rose in her dress for my wedding and I didn't even want to think about how hormonal she might be through that.

Turning my laptop on, I sat back down to begin another assignment. It was crazy how much was being piled up before we graduated here soon.

About an hour later I pulled up Pinterest and started looking at more wedding decoration ideas. This was better than seeing baby things but I still felt overwhelmed with trying to come up with decisions. Hayden has reassured me when I graduated we could really focus on wedding planning since we had pushed our wedding until early next year.

"Hmm... If I can just pick colors things would be a million times easier." I rubbed my eyes wearily.

I knew for sure I wanted green, because I wanted Hayden's eyes to pop mainly. But the green would look good as ties for the groomsmen or for dresses.

"Gold might not be too bad." I pulled up different shades and began putting the colors together in my head. That wouldn't look bad and it was simple enough. Gold isn't hard to find for dresses either.

"Okay." I began to text Nina and letting her know what the colors would most likely be along with some others. It made me sad in a sense to know I wouldn't have many friends or people actually participating in the wedding. However it was something I accepted since I would do anything to be with Hayden.

'Green and gold babe? For the wedding?'

Forgetting I still needed to mention my grandparents to Hayden I was about to text him again when he replied.

'Sounds good darling. Let me know if I can help with anything?'

'Will do. By the way, my grandparents are coming soon. They want to meet you.'

'Okay babe. Just let me know when. Love you.'

'Love you too.'

Pushing my laptop aside, I laid down on the couch and closed my eyes. I just needed time to slow down for a little bit before I couldn't think anymore.

**Now we know Rosemary is pregnant and that Sean doesn't know yet. Gender and names are welcomed! Also any ideas on how the interaction will go between Hayden and the grandparents? Or who comes back from the past to cause trouble?**
