Alyssa could stomach the divorce, but she would never want to lose to the Becketts.

When Alyssa left the patient’s room, she put on a pair of sunglasses to hide the fire in her eyes.

She called Axel. He answered the call and yelped, “Lyse, you finally remember me!”

Axel sounded cloying and begrudged. “You probably didn’t know this, but Silas laughed at me and said you were giving me the cold shoulder. I freaked out! F***! I will never lose out to that prick!”

“You are all my brothers. Why would you fight for my favor? Don’t make me sound like a playgirl, please. I’m not Cleopatra.”

Speechless, she fell silent before telling him in a hushed voice, “Axel, may I get your help on something?”

“Oh my god! What’s with that tone of yours? I’m done for! Lyse, tell me, do you not love me anymore? Is our relationship cooling down?” Axel, ever the drama queen, turned into the melancholic lead of a soap opera. 1 He continued, “Why do you sound formal with me? It looks like I should go back to you. If I don’t, you’d forget my handsome looks two more years down the road!”

“Axel, are you done? I need your help!” Alyssa yelled at him impatiently, which attracted the gazes of the doctors and nurses. They weren’t expecting Alyssa’s explosive speech from her pretty face.

“That’s right! Just talk to me like usual. I feel much better now. Tell me, what’s up?” Axel grinned.

Her eyes darkened. She lowered her voice. “I’ll upload a video tomorrow. I hope you’ll pull some tricks to make it stay online for a bit.”

“How long?”

“At least until the news has spread.”

“Hah, no problem. But Lyse, shouldn’t you repay my favor? Hm?” He spoke lazily in a hoarse voice that sounded rather seductive.

“Are you trying to milk it? Fine, tell me what you want.” She lifted a brow and challenged him.

“Can I beat Jasper up to release my anger?”

She was baffled by his idea. “Get lost!”

“We must bid the land in East Cathia as soon as possible. All related departments must communicate timely and carry out their responsibilities.”

During his speech, someone checked their phone. Eyes widened in shock, and the said person patted his colleague to the left.

That went on around the meeting table until everyone in the meeting room was made aware of the news that had spread like wildlife.

“Is this your first time joining my meeting? Don’t you know my rules?” He looked up with a sour face and gave everyone goosebumps.

At the same time, his phone buzzed. He looked down and scrolled his phone before glowering.

After the meeting, he returned to his office with a sullen expression.

“Didn’t I ask you to remove the videos of Betty online? Why is it trending now?”

“The video was uploaded this morning! The PR department didn’t have the time to respond to it.”

Xavier was sweating. “I have contacted Twitter to take it down, but we can’t!”

“We can’t? Hah, is that a funny joke?” Jasper’s tone was ice–cold. “You have half an hour. I do not want Betty’s name on trending.”

He’d get rid of any threat against Beckett Group as soon as it emerged.

“M–Mr. Beckett! Look at this!” A bewildered Xavier showed Jasper the phone.

The first hashtag on trending had changed to #TheAngelWhoSavedtheDay.

Jasper pursed his lips as he tapped on the trending topic with doubt. In the next second, he burst into a temper. The video captured the scene where Alice saved the hotel employee and exposed Alice’s face.

Now that his ex–wife had been exposed in the video, she’d be more widely known to the public. An unexplainable panic gripped him.
