During the Christmas holidays, you’ve never sent me any Christmas cards or well wishes. Why are you suddenly being concerned now?”

A fire of rage rose within Alyssa. She put her hand on her waist and continued, “Are you possessed, or do you just have too much free. time on your hands because you’re about to retire?”

Jasper furrowed his brows and remained expressionless.

Alone overseas? And it was for five to six years at that? Why so?

Alyssa put her finger on her chin and pretended to give it a good thought. After a while, she shook her head.

“No, I won’t.”

Jasper’s breathing was deep and heavy. He opened his arms and pulled her in for an embrace.

He put his chin on the top of her head as tears pooled in his eyes. Ant intense twinge of bittersweet emotions filled his heart.

“If you won’t leave me, neither will I leave you.”

He was determined to be with her-forever.
