Daughter? Her daughter?
Liana was shaking incessantly. Her temples throbbed, and her mind went blank. Once pointed out, everyone could see the resemblance between her and the little girl.
âThatâs impossible ⦠Impossible!â shemumbled like she was put under a spell.
âHah. How ridiculous!â Curtis stared ather pale face with a vile smile.âHow could you call yourself a mother if you canât even identify your daughter? A poor excuse of a mother!â
The audience gasped. The revelation sent a ripple of shock and unease in the crowd. Half of the audience stared at Liana, who was losing it on the stage.
The other half was focused on Jasper, who clenched his jaw icily. The poor man just got cuckolded in public.
âLia, whatâs going on?â Sophia was closeto losing her composure. She tugged at Liana hard and hissed,âWhoâs this guy, and how did he sneak in? Whatâs between you and him?â
On the other hand, Rosaline lurched at Curtis in anger because she was terrified of being exposed.âYou filthy thug! How dare you taint my daughterâs reputation?I wonât let this slide!â
As Curtis was regularly trained in boxing, he agilely dodged her attack. She lost her balance, flapping and stumbling around before falling face flat.
The people around quietly giggled at her clumsiness. Andrew was red in embarrassment and wished to distance himself from his crazy wife.
âGet someone over! Security! Get thesecurity guards!â Liana screamed in horror. She did not have time for Rosaline.
Her priority was to kick Curtis out.âDrag this rude man out here! Now!â
Lianaâs refusal to admit to their relationship further triggered Curtis. He was about to verbally attack her further when he heard a chilling voice from behind.
âNo one can touch him.â
Eyes burning in rage, Jasper seemed like a volcano that would erupt at any time. He approached Liana with a sullen face.
Staring at the terrified Liana, he felt suffocated. He remembered her as a kind angel and a sunshine in their childhood. She claimed to only have eyes for him in this life. At that moment, she felt like a stranger to him.
âJasper, someoneâs framing me. Theyhired a random man to slander me and taint my name!âWhile frantically explaining to Jasper, she lifted her dress and rushed toward him from the stage. At one point, she almost tripped on her bulky dress.
The walk to Jasper was a short but difficult one. When she finally stood in front of him, her legs turned jelly. She gripped his arms so tight that she almost dug into his flesh.
âJasper, youâre the only one I love overthese years. In the three years we were apart,I saved myself for you and never fell for another man! 2 âI donât know who sent that guy to stir uptrouble but donât listen to his nonsense. You have to trust me!â
âYou might have only loved him. Butclaiming that you saved yourself for him? âCurtis roared in laughter, feelingexhilarated at her shameless lie.
âI will sue you for slander! Iâm reportingyou to the police!â She glowered at Curtis and pointed a finger at him.
âAre you suing me? I should be the one to fucking sue you for child abandonment!âCurtis ran out of patience and threw a file he carried to Liana.
He continued, âThis is the maternity test result of you and our daughter! What can you say when the cold, hard evidence is in your face?â
Since Curtis had no other way out anyway, he decided to drag Liana down with him.
