The moment Tatiana saw that woman, her pupils wavered as she trembled more violently in Seanâs embrace.
The woman was Brie Caldwell, a fellow student at the same school with the same major as Tatiana.
Brie had caused trouble on numerous occasions, subjecting Tatiana to bullying and humiliation.
Sean suddenly remembered that Alyssa had mentioned Tatianaâs fear of crossing roads and speeding cars.
When Lyla married Winston, their children were still quite young. Some jealous adversaries of Winston attempted to harm his children when they couldnât bring him down.
At that time, their opponent assumed that Lyla was Winstonâs least favorite wife and that her child was also the least favored.
This adversary went to the extreme of hiring assassins to target Tatiana, who was just seven years old, as revenge against Winston for winning business deals against them.
Although Tatiana survived the incident with minor injuries and Winston completely decimated said opponent, she was traumatized and scarred from then on.
Frustrated and furious, Sean inquired, âMs. Tatiana, are you alright?â
âIâm fine,â she calmly replied with a forced smile, but her pale face and sweaty forehead betrayed the fear that had gripped her.
The attractive woman, Brie, shot a glance in their direction and immediately grew envious and irritated by the sight of Tatiana with a handsome man.
She looked around and put on a mocking expression when she noticed that Sean drove a Porsche that was worth only a million dollars or so. She snickered, âCheap ass bitch.â a Though she spoke in a hushed tone, Sean and Tatiana overheard the insult. Filled with anger, Sean told Tatiana, âWait for me. Iâll be back soon.â
*Sean!â Tatiana panicked, but it was too late. Sean walked up to Brie and asked, âWho are you referring to?
âDid I say anything? You must have imagined it,â Brie replied with a slightly less hostile tone but equally impudent.
Sean clenched his jaw and balled his fists, knowing that Brie was mocking Tatiana.
However, he felt powerless if Brie wouldnât admit it, and he couldnât resort to violence against a woman.
His anger simmered.
âMr. Schmidt, thank you for the ride. Iâm looking forward to our next outing!â Brie spoke in a saccharine tone and blew a kiss toward the car window.
Wait.
Was that Josh Schmidt, the president of the Schmidt Group?
Seanâs brows furrowed. Josh remained silent in the car, even revving the engine provocatively.
Fuming on Tatianaâs behalf, Sean rapped on the car window and said, âYour car nearly hit that young lady back there. Are you really planning to drive off like nothing happened?â
Tatiana pressed her lips together with concern. She didnât want Sean to stand up for her, and she certainly didnât want a conflict with Brie.
Yet, the Laferrari driver continued to ignore them.
âHey, be careful with your words. We were just driving down the road as usual. Did Mr. Schmidt come anywhere near you?â Brie crossed her arms and smirked. âOr are you trying to extort money? I thought you were a gentleman. Why act like this?â
Sean furrowed his brows, about to respond when the car window rolled down.
