âYouâre bleeding, Lyse!â Silas cried, seeing how bloody Alyssaâs hand was.
âCall an ambulance, Cyrus! Hurry!â
âTsk. Is this all it takes for you to panic?â Alyssa scowled, grabbing Silasâ tie and unraveling it before wrapping it around her injured hand.
âCool!â Cyrus gasped at Alyssaâs swift action.
âCalm down, Lyse,â Jonah said, heart aching at the sight of his sisterâs injuries.
He gently held her wounded hand, grumbling, âYou canât hurt yourself, no matter how upset you get, silly.
âYour family is right here with you. As long as we stick together, thereâs nothing we canât handle, right?â
âYou guys stay here to deal with the reporters and find out who is behind this. Iâll make sure Taty and Lyla reach home safe and sound!â With that, Alyssa turned and left.
âLyse, your hand-â Cyrus cried, but Alyssa was already gone.
âTsk⦠too hot headed. Even more so than me.â Silas shook his head.
âThereâs no use stopping her, guys. She has the skills, brains, and has been a doctor before too. We donât even have a tenth of that combined.â
Jonah patted his brothersâ shoulders, sighing. âIf we donât let her take care of this herself, she will never get over it.
âWeâre her brothers. What we can do now is just to hang back and make sure sheâs safe.â
Alyssa sped to the underground parking lot, wasting no more time to meet Winston.
âY-you canât come in here, Ms. Alyssa!â Unexpectedly, one of her familyâs guards stopped her halfway.
âGet out of my way!â Alyssa snapped.
âMr. Taylor instructed you to stay out of the parking lot right now with how chaotic it is in there. Me and my team will do our best to take Madam Lyla and Ms. Tatiana home!â
âI donât trust any of you to do that!â Alyssa quickly dodged the guards and ran ahead.
Minutes later, she found her family being swarmed by countless journalists.
âMadam Lyla, what do you have to say about what happened tonight?â
âAre those videos and photos real? Was what happened those years ago true?â
âCan you give us a statement?â
The journalists were ravenous, waiting for Lyla to answer them before they would leave her alone.
Tatiana hugged her mother tight while Colene and Mandy stood in front of them, shielding them.
âStop that nonsense all of you! If you say another word donât blame me for suing all your asses!â
Colene roared.
She was holding back from throwing some punches into some of the journalists.
âLeave! We wonât answer any of your questions because Lyla is innocent!â Mandy exclaimed.
She was calmer than Colene though she herself was already near her limit.
âInnocent? Just because itâs been decades doesnât mean the people who witnessed that incident in person are all dead, Madam Mandy!â A middle-aged reporter suddenly shouted.
âI was there in person during TS Networkâs celebratory broadcast. I saw how Ms. Lyla pissed herself onstage with my own eyes.â
The reporters sniggered amongst one another. Who knew such an adored A-list actress would have a label like that to her name!
