Amber was in utter disbelief. She never expected to feel such emotions for any man other than Jameson.
âThe ladiesâ restroom? Look at this urinal. Do you think this is the ladiesâ restroom?â
Axel smiled. âI think youâre the one that needs to leave, miss.â
Amberâs face turned even redder. She lowered her head and thought of a quick escape plan. Axel, out of her expectation, grabbed her wrist and pulled her back hard.
Once again, Amber slammed into the manâs sturdy chest hard. Her scalp tingled from the collision. Her heart was racing.
Axel looked at her, a deep glint in his eyes. His lip curled slightly. It was teasingly charming. âHow can you leave? You didnât even thank me yet.â
âT-Thank you.â Amberâs eyes flickered. Her breathing was growing erratic.
âHas anyone told you that you looked like someone?â Axelâs warm breath landed on the reddened tip of her nose. His indifferent gaze became somewhat gentler.
Amberâs heart tightened. She tried her best to escape, but Axel held her tightly, so she couldnât.
âNo. I donât look lik âNo, I donât look like anyone. Iâm just me.â
She was unsure why she felt timid and insecure. She felt like she was a terrible replica. Only Jameson liked this face. Everyone else in this world liked the actual owner of this face-Alyssa Taylor.
âThen, tell me. Who are you?â
Axelâs eyes searched her eyes. âWhat is your name?â
âAm-
Her phone rang before she could finish her reply.
She hastily took her phone out and noticed her boss calling. Her face lost its color from the fear.
Axelâs brow twitched. The curiosity that had been growing in his heart went away instantly.
Amber dared not walk through the front door with her head held high. She scurried away in a hurry through the back door.
A bright and piercing red light landed on her face when she walked out. She used her arm to block the piercing light. She couldnât open her eyes.
At that moment, a bodyguard walked toward her.
âMs. Altman, the boss is waiting for you. Please hurry.â
âOkay.â
Amber was completely sober at this point. She walked toward the luxurious black car with heavy steps.
Her face was riddled with worry.
The man she had thought about day and night was in the car.
Despite being so close to the man of her dreams, her heart was filled with fear.
Amber opened the car door and cautiously entered.
The car door closed, and Jamesonâs voice echoed in the darkness, clear but tinged with a palpable anger.
âWhat have I told you? You are not supposed to come back to Solana City without my instructions.
Have you forgotten everything so quickly?â
âS-Sorry, Mr. Schmidt. H⦠Hmm!â
The next second, everything turned pitch black for Amber. An unbearable pain throbbed in her neck, and she found herself unable to breathe.
A cold glint reflected on Jamesonâs gold-rimmed glasses. He turned around, strangled Amberâs neck, and held her down in the car seat.
âSorry? Is that it? Do you know how much trouble you have caused me with your recklessness?â
