Calvin got into the car, silent and upset.
Alexis spoke softly.
âI told you weâre not suitable.
I donât want to be torn apart by your fan girls.
Itâs better we part on good terms.
â
Calvin looked out the window, ignoring her.
Alexis reached out and patted his face.
âBe good now,â she said gently.
Calvin turned to look at her, his eyes red.
He unbuckled his seatbelt, hugged her around the waist, and buried his head in her abdomen.
âStay with me tonight,â he murmured.
âFine, but donât expect more,â Alexis replied.
Calvin remained silent.
As she drove, Alexis reflected.
She was Calvinâs lawyer and had met him four years ago.
They had a brief, intense relationship but later realized they werenât suited for each other.

Their relationship was complicated by her role as his lawyer.
Calvin was endearing, and despite everything, Alexis did had a soft spot for him.
After dropping him off, she closed the car door.

Calvin tried to ki*s her as he opened his apartment door, but Alexis stopped him.
âIf you keep this up, Iâll leave,â she warned.
Calvin buried his face in her neck, his voice husky.
âIf he hadnât come back, you wouldâve stayed with me tonight! You still love him, donât you?â he asked.
Alexis patted his face.
âWhat are you thinking, Calvin?â she asked.
He didnât let her go, so she kicked him.
Calvin grunted but Alexis paid him no more attention.
