Before long, a black Rolls-Royce slowly pulled up at the gate.
When the window was rolled down, Leonel saw a handsome face.
It was Marcus.
âWhy donât you go in, my ex brother-in-law?â Marcus asked with a sneer when he saw the gloomy look on Leonelâs face.
âOr are the domestic staff being stubborn?â
Leonel knew that Marcus was just mocking him.
So he asked with a faint smile, âMarcus, youâve done this sort of thing before, havenât you?â
âYouâre right,â Marcus confirmed with a nod.
âFor me, the hard times are over, and the good times are just beginning.
Iâm not sure if it will be the same way for you.
â
With that, he rolled up the window and drove into the compound.
Melissa who was seated right next to him couldnât help but say, âMarcus, youâre so childish.
â
In response, Marcus chuckled and parked the car.
Since it was quite late at night, the mansion was quiet.
The only sounds that could be heard were the subtle sounds of chirping made by insects.
Marcus unfastened his seat belt and pinched Melissaâs face.
âIf not that my sister discouraged me from doing it, I would have knocked Leonel out, again.
In fact, I even made a brilliant plan with Edwin already,â he remarked.
Melissa sighed and shook her head.
âBoth of you are just too childish,â she mumbled.
Immediately, Marcus turned off the light in the car, plunging them into darkness.
âTry calling me childish again,â he dared her in a hoar
Melissa was left speechless by this threat.
Meanwhile, inside the villa, Mark, Cecilia, Waylen and Rena were having a discussion.
âIs Alexis really planning to take the kids abroad?â Mark asked Waylen.
âYes,â Waylen confirmed, âthey are going abroad for a few years.
Rena is very worried about Alexis, so she will go with them.
Iâll stay back to keep an eye on Marcus and the others.
I also have to take care of my father too.
â
When Mark heard this, he didnât say anything in response.
He just drank his tea in silence.
At this point, Marcus suddenly walked in with Melissa in tow.
âGreat-uncle Mark⦠Aunt Cecilia, weâve come to take you home,â
Marcus announced.
Mark and Cecilia were glad to see them.
Nonetheless, Mark grumbled, âIâve told you before that you donât have to come to drive me home.
My arms and legs are working fine.
I can take care of myself.
â
Marcusâ response to this was to put his hand in his pocket and shift the blame to Melissa.
âItâs all because Melissa thinks youâre old and you need to be taken care of.
â
Before Mark could say anything, Waylen chimed in, âMarcus, youâre being sharp-tongued again.
I think Melissaâs the only one who doesnât seem to be bothered by it.
