Looking down, she said softly, âDylan, about earlierâ¦â
Though she was still not ready to accept him, Oliviaâs voice had softened.
Understanding her hesitation, Dylan responded kindly, âI understand it meant nothing! Itâs okay if you canât forgive me yet.
Iâll leave once the baby is fine! Olivia, I wonât push you into anything.
Iâll wait for you to be ready to see me.
â
Tears filled Oliviaâs eyes upon hearing his words.
She found it too awkward to voice many thoughts.
âJust try to eat something for now.
Youâll need it,â Dylan continued gently.
The light cast a warm glow, and his tender expression reminded Olivia of their early days of marriage, when Dylan was similarly kind.
It felt like a flashback, yet everything had changed now.
Finally, she took a sip of the soup with tears streaming down her face.

Seeing her cry, Dylan felt a pang of sadnessâ¦
After she ate a little, Olivia lay back down.
Dylan went to clean the dishes and then came back to the room.
Meanwhile, Olivia rested, her eyes closed.
It wasnât that she was avoiding Dylan; she was simply exhausted.
On his part, Dylan was wide awake, haunted by the thought of nearly losing Olivia and their unborn child that night.
As a result, he stayed awake all night.
To keep from disturbing Olivia, he dimmed the bedside lamp and sat silently next to her⦠It had been ages since he was last this close to Olivia.
Gazing intently at her, he watched over her as she slept.
Occasionally, Olivia would frown in discomfort during her sleep.
Dylan rested his hand gently on her stomach.
Yet, he was careful not to press too hard.
He lightly caressed her stomach and suddenly felt the baby moveâ¦
Though still tiny, Dylan sensed a strong life force in the baby through that gentle touch.
He had heard they were expecting a daughter.
So, he imagined she would be as charming and lively as Leyla.
With that thought, Dylanâs heart swelled with warmth, and he began to contemplate possible names for the girl.
Even if Olivia might not agree, he mentally came up with a list of names⦠After some thought, however, he realized those names didnât quite fit the baby girl.
What about Jeannette? That sounded like a pretty name!
But then, he quickly dismissed it⦠There must be something better!
He wanted the perfect name for the baby girl.
