Chapter 472 He Thinks He Was Abandoned Mary noted how well-dressed Ethen was.
âUhh... What does Mr. Graham do, if you donât mind me asking?â
Ethen stared at the old woman warily.
They didnât know each other well, after all, so he couldnât help but question her intentions upon hearing her question.
âDonât get me wrong! I just want to know what Timâs life will be like when he returns to Mr. Graham.â
Now, Ethen felt sorry for doubting her.
âDonât worry. Tim will have the best possible environment to grow up in. Mr. Graham is a businessman.â
Mary nodded. âI suppose that doesnât really matter as long as Timâs parents love him. The poor boy doesnât say anything, but I know heâs been a little resentful ever since he found out he was adopted. He thinks his real parents abandoned him.â
Ethen could tell from the way Tim behaved and spoke after finding out who his real father was.
âI think heâll understand after Mr. and Mrs. Graham explain everything. They care very much about him.â
âIâll be sure to talk to him.â Mary smiled. âIâm getting weaker. I was worried about what might happen if I were to suddenly leave this world one day.
My... my son is such a pain. I donât know what Timâs future would be like if I were no longer there to protect him. Thatâs why Iâm so happy and relieved that youâve finally come for him.â
The more she spoke, the more depressed she sounded.
Even Ethen had a hard time hearing her words. âDonât be too upset, maâam. You look pretty healthy! You should be able to live many more years.â
Yet, Mary shook her head. âIâm old. I know my own body best. Seeing Tim return to his real family is more than enough for me. At least I can now leave without having to worry about him.â
âBut maâam, think about how Tim feels! He really cares about you. Even if heâs finally found his parents, Iâm sure heâd be sad if he wonât get to see you anymore.â
Mary stilled upon hearing that. She had absolutely no doubt about how much Tim adored her. She had raised him after all.
âIâll do my best to undergo my treatment. Now, it all depends on fate.â
Not knowing how else to console her, Ethen pulled a chair out and sat next to the bed.
Mary turned to him. âWhy donât you take a stroll outside, young man? You donât have to stay here with me.â
âI have to look after you while Tim is away. Do you need to use the bathroom?â
âYes, I do. Sorry for the trouble.â Seeing how adamant he was, Mary chose not to refuse his kindness.
âNot at all.â
Ethen went up and lifted Mary carefully. âLet me know if youâre not feeling well.â
âIâm fine. Donât you worry!â
âWe were so scared when you coughed blood. You wouldnât have had to go through that if we had told you who we were from the start,â the man said apologetically.
âItâs not your fault. Iâm just getting weaker.â
Ethen helped Mary get to the bathroom.
Meanwhile, Tim headed to the fruit vendors next to the hospital. Most of them were rather pricy.
He then walked up to an old womanâs stall.
âIs it okay if I just get one?â he asked timidly.
âFine,â the elderly woman responded curtly. She didnât like how such a well-dressed boy didnât seem to want to buy a lot from her.
Tim was stunned by her demeanor and was now unsure if he wanted to buy anything from her.
He had come over just because she seemed older than the other vendors.
Unfortunately, not every elderly person was as kind as his grandmother was.
âIf youâre not buying anything, then get out of here. Youâre in the way!â the old woman demanded.
With a bite of his lip, Tim turned and left.

This poor kid must be scrimping because his familyâs been hospitalized.
Hearing that, Tim headed over with sparkling eyes.
