Jared had confusion written all over his face. âWhat was that all about?â Henry had noticed Trisha as
well and shifted his gaze back and forth between Jared and Trisha. Unable to resist his curiosity, he
wrapped an arm around Jaredâs shoulder and asked nosily, âHey, are you hiding something from me?â
âWhat are you talking about?â Jared questioned in confusion. âDonât play dumb with me! Come on, out
with it!â Henry winked at Jared like he had already figured out his secret It was not until he saw the
genuine cluelessness on Jaredâs face that Henry decided to spell it out for him. âIs there something
going on between you and Trisha?â Having understood what Henry was going on about, Jared frowned
as he asked, âHow is that possible?â âI saw you two having supper by yourselves when I came back
last night. You two looked just like a couple on a date! Tell me, are you into her?â âEnough with that
crap, man!â Jared shoved Henry off before continuing with a stern expression, âI canât date anyone right
now. All I want is to focus on getting into Maxwell University so I can help my brother support the family
in the future.â Grandpa isnât getting any younger, and some of his men are already coveting his wealth
and power. Who knows whatâll happen in the family once heâs gone? âThen why did Trisha run off the
moment she saw you?â Henry asked curiously. âI donât know, but thereâs nothing going on between us
because weâre not dating at all. We were going to invite Boss for supper last night, but⦠Boss was a
little busy, so it was just the two of us,â Jared replied while walking toward the classroom. Henry
scratched his head. âAll right, then. Damn, I was expecting to hear some juicy gossip. I guess youâre
right. Trisha isnât your type. You probably prefer girls like Boss, donât you?â Upon hearing that, Jared
paused in his tracks and shot Henry a glare as he said, âShut your mouth. Youâll doom us both if you
keep saying stuff like that!â Henry went pale instantly and held a hand over his mouth while making a
zipping motion with the other. The two of them then headed over to the lecture hall together, as they
both had the same class. This time, however, Jared sat in the first row while Henry sat in the last row.
Being content with what he had, Henry was not really ambitious and lived a carefree life, just waiting to
graduate and inherit his familyâs wealth. Upon arrival at the principalâs office to get her withdrawal
procedures done, Arielle heard Marcus excitedly discussing the exam results with Jaredâs new
homeroom teacher. âAnother perfect score? Looks like Iâve found the right person this time!â She was
about to knock on the door when Marcus spotted her and stood up to welcome her. âHello, Arielle!
Come, Iâll pour you some tea!â âNo need to trouble yourself, Mr. Brown. Iâm here to get my withdrawal
procedures done,â Arielle said while waving at him. Marcus froze for a moment before clearing his
throat as he asked, âAre you still mad about yesterday, Arielle? Iâll consider firing Mr. Baxter if you
stay!âShaking her head, Arielle replied with a wry smile, âIâm not mad, Mr. Brown. I no longer have a
reason to stay here, thatâs all.â
She was never there to study to begin with. Having found some clues about the man in the photograph
and confirmed that he had nothing to do with Jadeborough University, she no longer had a reason to
stick around. Realizing that she had already made up her mind, Marcus had no choice but to prepare
her withdrawal forms. While waiting, Arielleâs gaze fell upon the exam papers on Marcusâ desk.
