The two of them arrived in a quiet room.
The setting in the room was very simple. It had mattresses for the kids and some daily necessities. The
room was kept spotless and tidy.
It was obvious that Moses emphasized on the childrenâs self-discipline.
âFather Moses.â
Before Arielle could finish her sentence, Moses raised his hand and cut her off. âIf youâre trying to convi
nce me to take his money, then I donât think we have anything to talk about.â
Arielle was stunned for a second. âWell, that was what I was about to say. But since youâre adamant
about it, I wonât insist on it. However, would you mind telling me the reason behind it? After all, heâs
someone youâve raised. Since heâs grown up to be a successful person, why canât he contribute and
make everyoneâs life better?â
Moses gazed
at her intently before heaving a sigh. âI can tell youâre a sensible girl. Iâll let you in on it, but you canât tell
Jason, okay?â
âOkay.â Arielle nodded. âGo on.â
âThree years ago, Jason signed a contract with an agency when he first debuted. When he got paid the
first time, heâd given me all his money. However, the owner of that agency came to look for me right aft
er Jason left.â
âWhat did they say to you?â
Moses sighed
again before continuing, âThe agency told me that Jason is perfect for the industry, and heâll surely bec
ome a superstar in the future. However, if his fans ever found out that he actually grew up in an orphan
age, they might look down on him. After all, Jason is their idol and someone they admire. Hence, the ag
ency told me to cut ties with Jason. Otherwise, they were going to raze this place to the ground.â
Finally, Arielle understood why Moses wanted Jason to have nothing to do with the orphanage.
She frowned and said, âIf youâre still worried about the owner of that agency, you shouldnât be. Thatâs b
ecause Jason had signed for a different company. This company is very openâ
minded, and they wonât stop him from interacting with you. Also, nothing is going to happen to the orph
anage.â
Moses shook his head. âIâm not worried about that agencyâs threats. We live in a lawâ
abiding society. They canât possibly take down the orphanage just because they wanted to.â
âThen?â
âItâs because the agency did have a point. No oneâs going to admire
an idol with such a tragic upbringing. Without Jasonâs help, we
can get by just fine. However, we might ruin his career if he keeps interacting with us. I donât want to tak
the risk. Thatâs why Iâd rather cut ties with him so that we donât pull him down.â
Arielle pursed her lips and answered, âI get it.â
âWell, you should stop trying to convince me now that you know the reason why I canât accept his money
take him away and tell him not to come back.â With that, Moses turned around and was about to leave.
Wait, Father Moses!â Arielle went after him and stood in front of him to stop him in his tracks. âSince
you wonât accept Jasonâs help, how about mine? Will you accept my help?â
Moses was taken aback. âYou?â Youâre such a pretty
young girl. In what way can you possibly help the orphanage?
The next moment, Arielle took out her name card from her pocket and gave it to Moses.
