Chapter 1244 Mole
Vinson appeared hesitant. âThen, that womanâ¦â
Arielle shot him a glare. âYou brought this upon yourself, so you figure out how to deal with it. I donât
have the time or energy to care about her.â
Vinson flirtatiously kissed Arielle on her forehead, nose, and eventually her lips.
âCome on, Darling. Give me a hand. You know how terrible my acting skills are. I might end up making
her run away.â
Arielle threw her hands up. âDonât give me that. Your acting skills are pretty good that even I fell for
them.â
âI tried my best only because I found out about the mole.â
âWhoâs the mole?â Arielle asked sternly.
âSomeone youâd never suspect.â
âStop leaving me guessing. Tell me!â she demanded, pinching the manâs waist.
âItâs Geoffrey,â Vinson answered in a hushed voice.
Arielle was visibly shocked.
âGeoffrey? Are you sure about this? Hasnât he been working for your family all these years?â
âYeah. He pretty much watched me grow up.â
Arielle creased her brows. âWhat on earth is going on?â
Vinson sighed. âHe really is loyal to the family. Iâm sure of that. Heâs served us faithfully even after so
many years. He only became a mole about two days ago. I ran a security check on all the
housekeepers and bodyguards for the familyâs safety. Thatâs when I noticed that Geoffrey had suddenly
received a thirty-million sum in his bank account two days ago.â
âThirty million?â The crease between Arielleâs brows deepened.
Thirty million didnât mean a lot to her, but it was an unimaginable figure to a butler. Despite working at
the Nightshire Manor, Geoffreyâs monthly salary only amounted to about eight thousand. It was good
money, but his total income would be no more than two hundred thousand a year.
Thus, having thirty million in his account was certainly unusual.
âDid he really betray your family for thirty million?â
âNo,â Vinson continued. âI initially thought he did it for the money too. But after staying calm and getting
Rayson to investigate further, we realized something.â
âWhat is it?â
âGeoffreyâs wife and child have gone missing from the suburbs they live in. I secretly got a hold of the
surveillance cameras outside his house. It turned out that a group of men broke into the house and
took his wife and child away by force.â
Realization dawned upon Arielle.
With his familyâs life at stake on top of receiving a bribe of thirty million, it was no surprise that Geoffrey
would switch sides.
âHis familyâs and thirty million versus his employer of several decadesâthings must have been really
hard for Geoffrey,â muttered Arielle. âHow do you intend to solve this?â
âFirst, weâll find Geoffreyâs family and make sure theyâre safe. Then, weâll try to get him to return to our
side. Iâm sure heâll come around once he finds out that his family is okay.â
Arielle nodded. âThis is all we can do. In that case, letâs carry on with our plan and wait for them to take
the bait.â
âYeah.â
Arielle fell silent for two seconds before suddenly remembering the Mill family. âIâll be heading over to
the Millsâ place from tomorrow onward to take part in their heir selection. Itâll last for three days. Their
medical manuscripts are really important to me, so Iâll have to be there. Iâm counting on you to hold the
fort here.â
