Chapter 1853 Forbidden
Meanwhile, back when Aaron finally found Alicia. Initially, Aaron thought he could bring Alicia back the
moment he found her. Little did he expect Clement to start chasing him out of the house with a stick the
moment the latter returned home.
âDonât hit him, Grandpa. I fell for him first, and I was the one who wanted a relationship with himâ¦â
Alicia didnât expect Clement to have such a big reaction. When she saw Clement was about to hit
Aaron, she ignored the fact that she was pregnant and immediately rushed toward Aaron to shield him
from the stick.
âAlicia!â Clement was enraged when he saw Alicia protecting Aaron. While pretending to not care about
the baby in her stomach, he swung the stick toward her.
Aaron was startled when he saw that. He then swiftly stepped forward and pulled Alicia into his
embrace. In the end, he was struck on the back. Although the pain caused him to let out a muffled
groan, he didnât retaliate.
Just a split second earlier, Clement didnât mean to hurt Alicia because, after all, how could he not care
about her baby? He swung the stick in Aliciaâs direction to scare her, not expecting Aaron to jump to
her protection.
âAaronâ¦â Aliciaâs eyes reddened immediately.
âIâm at fault, Grandpa. I didnât take good care of Alicia, and Iâve disappointed her.â Aaron turned around
and knelt before Clement. âGive me a chance to redeem myself, Grandpa. If you let Alicia marry me, I
promise Iâll treat her right for the rest of my life. Iâll make sure sheâll live a happy life.â
Seeing that Aaron was saying all the right words while he was on his knees, Clement snorted. Does he
really think Iâm going to believe what he says? Iâm not as foolish as Alicia! She believed everything he
said!
âLeave. Iâll take care of Alicia myself. We donât need you.â Clement glared at Aaron and warned, âLeave
at once before I get even angrier.â
No one could imagine how angry Clement was when he returned to see Aaron hugging Alicia. Who
wouldâve thought that the person who impregnated Alicia would turn out to be the person I rescued?
Did I bring this upon myself? At that moment, he was so angry that he was trembling all over. How he
wished he could just kill Aaron there and then.
Alicia noticed how furious Clement was, so she hurriedly walked up to him and grabbed his hand.
âGrandpa, Aaron never said he didnât want me. I left him because I thought I would never be good
enough for him. After I left, he spent months tracking me down. Donât be angry anymore, okay?â
In response, Clement pointed at Alicia and scolded, âWhat makes you think that? Youâre pretty, well-
behaved, and smart! Why would you think you donât deserve him?â
âGrandpa, heâs the king, and Iâm just a commoner. What makes you think Iâm deserving of him?â Alicia
had tears welling up in her eyes.
Those words silenced Clement instantaneously. Who wouldâve known that the person I rescued back
then would end up being a king? He then glanced at Aaron, who was still on his knees, and sighed
inwardly. Aliciaâs right. Sheâs not good enough for him.
âGet up and donât ever come here again.â Despite not being a busybody, Clement knew Aaron was
supposed to marry the countryâs generalâs daughter. Now thatâs a good match.
âSince Iâve come all the way here, Grandpa, I donât intend to leave here alone. I came here to bring
Alicia back and marry her. I want her to be my wife and Turlenâs queen.â As Aaron was finishing his
sentence, he threw a gentle glance at Alicia.
