Asha sat at her desk the following afternoon, distractedly working on the paperwork splayed before her. Fleeting thoughts of Alexandra and Gabriel swirled in her mind, the execution was drawing nearer by the hour and the German military man didn't even fret. As if he'd survive without a doubt in mind, his cocky attitude made the redheaded elder very uneasy.
Then her thoughts would shift to Alex. Sweet innocent Alex with the bright blue eyes. She seemed less hesitant around the vampire and more passionate about their shared kisses. Remembering how Asha had fit perfectly against Alex the past morning made the vampire's pulse thrum in her veims. Though it worried her when Alex was to find out what she was. What Gabriel was. What they all were...
Alexandra laid on her living room floor for ages, thinking about a fiery redhead and kryptonite eyes. She could still feel lips sweeter than honey dancing across her skin, grazing her jaw and capturing her own lips in a searing liplock.
The thoughts brought a flush creeping up the honey-blonde's neck and cheeks. It was as of she could feel the redhead thinking about her and that thought alone opened the floodgates. Alex became more and more aware of how much the redhead affected her, how much Alexa desired to feel the tan skin beneath her fingers.
But as each thought pushed past the barrier of her mind, Alexandra pushed it back into the darkness where it belonged. With a rekindled sense of resolve, the blonde pushed herself up from where she laid and went about her day preparing for the nightshift at the coffee house.
So much had changed during the time she was away from LA Maison Du Caffé. The upper floor was transformed into a sitting area with large leather couches and tables, books strewn everywhere, the lower level was renovated and state of the art equipment replaced the older models they had. The staff was rearranged and management replaced with a more efficient one. But most importantly, what oonce was a small cozy coffee house was now surelya a go to spot for every indie artsy non-mainstream person in the vicinity.
Alex had been moved into the nightshift shortly after she had returned to work. She was put in charge of all the baristas which meant she'd have to fill in every time it got too crowded and sure it did. Almost every night between seven and midnight like cockwork, the place would fill up to the brim with people getting their daily dose of dark nectar.
Lex went about her business as usual, cleaning up the house, washing and ironing her clothes, brushing up on recent discoveries and news and preparing herself for work.
She was secretly glad for the shift change, her nightmres mde her dread settling in her bed for sleep. She'd been pushing it these past few weeks, working the full nightshift then going home and busying herself with anything she could find until she passed out from exhaustion. Sometimes she was so tired she wouldn't even remember what she meant of or if she even fell asleep at all and other times the nightmares were so vivid, so real, almost palpable that Alexandra would wake up in a cold sweat, her neck throbbing in pain, a bite shaped bruise marring her ivory skin.
She'd hide it with concealer and make up but as it reoccurred again and again, Alex had become paranoid. She had installed locks on every window and every door, even the hatch leading up to the recreation room and the door leading out to her rooftop terrace and a 6-pin industrial deadbolt to her front door.
Things didn't add up in her head, the nightmares said one thing but Asha and everyone else said another. Alex thought she was going mad, stuck between these conflicting thoughts and the more she thought about them the more confused she became. Asha was being of no help, she knew the redhead wasn't telling the truth but something at the back of her mind, a whisper of a voice, told her the less she knew right now the better. And Alex trusted her base instinct, she was going to let things just fall into place.
The blonde just hoped it would happen soon, the nightmares were taxing on her nerves, day in and day out they haunted her and she was slowly but surely breaking down.

Iris stirred groggily in her bed, the sun filtered through the open curtain and roused her from a restless sleep. The black haired vampire cracked her eyes open just a fraction but quickly shut them as the blinding light stung mercilessly.
Taking a deep breath, Iris flitted across the room and closed the curtains in a fraction of a second and once the room was dark she slowly opened her eyes.
Standing in the middle of her less than luxurious hotel room, sore and severely drained, the tattooed vampire spotted herself in the mirror. Her skin was a sickeningly pallid shade, her veins like black spiderwebs across the white canvas of her ghostly complexion. Her eyes, drained and tired, slightly unfocused and rimmed with dark circles that would shame the worst mortal insomniac.
A strip of pinkish flesh caught her attention, she reached up with great effort to touch the spot and found it to be quite sensitive. Iris slowly traced the edges and winced, something had happened the previous night but nothing that she could recall. Last she remembered, she was sitting in the bar of the Inn with Anna Lee, having a quiet conversation and a few drinks.
The green-eyed woman's hunger was flaring and she needed to find a willing donor and fast before she ended up with a sentence of her own.
Iris got dressed with great effort, wincing every time her muscles protested to movement. Something was off kilter and Iris hoped Anna could tell her anything about the previous night.
Once dressed, Iris stumbled her way down the stairs into the Inn's bar, where she knew Anna would be perched atop the cracked and worn bartop.
Lee had noticed a pale Iris stumbling into the room almost as if she'd been starved to death and she felt guilt tugging at the strings of her heart. She should have stayed until the morning but she couldn't fface Iris's rejection.
The woman with the royal blue highlights helped iris into a nearby chair and took the woman's hands into her own, rubbing reassuringly. Iris couldn't fathom what was the intense heat radiating into her from where the bartender's hand made contact with her skin.
The vampire tried to speak but her stained vocal chords and dried mouth only allowed her to rasp out a few painful words. A fleeting thought of death crossed Iris's mind but she refused to dwell on it.
"I...need...blood" the vampire sagged in her chair, her remaining energy slowly draining out of her and the force of exertion weighing down heavily on her consciousness.
Anna's face contorted in realization, in a snap decision she held up her hand, offering her wrist to Iris.
The vampire hesitated for a moment, she could kill the girl but the raging hunger gnawing at her overpowered her logical thoughts. The ill vampire leaned in and pressed a delicate kiss onto the sensitive wrist before sinking in her fangs. The moment Iris's lips made contact with tan skin, she gasped. Bolts of electric impulses overran her body as the blood trickled down her throat.
A distant moan had resonated in the air, a heavy tension surrounded them as Iris fed. Anna Lee's head was thrown back, eyes closed and moth agap, stuck straddling the line between pain and pleasure.
Iris detached herself from the girl's wrist as her whimpers grew louder. The blood had left her fully restored and more than satisfied, even tho she had not drained the girl to achieve this.
The vampire sat back, eyes shut and brows furrowed, enjoying the subsiding feeling of euphoria. A deft tongue peeked out to gather the remaining blood from her lips, savoring each drop.
Once they'd both regained themselves, they sat across from one another panting, eyes locked in an intense stare.
"So...a succubus. Would have never guessed" Iris began to speak between exhales
"Yeah, not really, I'm the creation of a seraphim and an incubus, and before you think 'wow forbidden love' seraphim as in the old interpretation, a fiery snake demon and not an angel" Anna Lee explained, not the least bit insecure about her wicked lineage.
"Ah, that explains the green snake-like eyes" Iris thought out loud
"Yeah pretty much" Lee replied shortly "Iris do you remember anything about last night?" The raven haired woman with the blue highlights asked, almost dreading the answer
Iris hesitated for a moment, she tried to think back to what had happened, nothing but snippets of a conversation with Anna and then nothing. A blank page, a whole night lost from her memory. She slowly shook her head to answer Anna and the succubus sighed audibly. This caused Iris to look up with an arched eyebrow "is there something I should know about last night Anna?"
"You probably know that as a succubus we usually feed off of a person's chi, the life energy, their blood or the sexual intimacy right?" Anna began
"Yeah everyone knows that, it kinda makes your kind known to be great in bed but what does that have to do with me?"
Anna was feeling self-conscious for the first time around Iris. She could sense the woman's confusion and pent up anger which had surprised her
"Okay, just bare with me and try not to kill me" Anna Lee spoke apologetically before she leaned in and captured the vampire's lips.
Iris was momentarily stunned, soft pinkish lips pressed against her own, the initial shock fading away she found herself entranced with the kiss. Reality around them began to dissipate.
Flashes of skin against skin materialized before Iris clouded by afoggy haze, the unmistakable moans and groans of pleasure reverberating all around her. A strangled moan caught her attention, it sounded eerily similar to Anna's voice, slightly more needy and hoarse. It wasn't until the vision had become clearer, the haze lifting, that Iris comprehended what had happened. She not only slept with Anna Lee but they had marked each other. She subconsciously lifted her hand to the still raw mark on her neck, they had mated. But that wasn't possible was it?
The vampire was suddenly ripped from the vision and planted back into reality as Anna pulled away from the kiss
"I'm already mated Lee, this isn't even possible" Iris's voice took on a sharper edge unintentionally but Anna wasn't one to be intimidated
"I didn't !mean for this to happen but you marked my just as I marked you. Trust me it wasn't my plan to seduce you and mark you! I'm a fucking succubus! I didn't even know we could matmate" Anna Lee protested vehemently.
Okay so I'll post the second part soon or just update this one...
