Alexandra didn't wait around to meet Cheyenne or anyone for that matter. She walked out of the room and down the halls, it was oddly quiet and empty, so Alex assumed it was either daytime or the club was closed but the latter was highly unlikely.

She slowly and cautiously made her way down a first flight of stairs, then a second and found herself standing in the middle of an empty dance floor.

The exit sign was lit with a bright green above a massive door and within the door frame stood Asha, frowning at Alex.

" You should really let doctor Lavoie take a look at you before you leave, unless you don't trust us enough. In that case you can leave right now" Asha spoke very calmly and stepped aside. Alex took rapid steps towards the door, but slowed to a halt when she was in front of the redhead. Alex's eyes locked with Asha's and the blonde leaned in slowly placing a soft kiss on Asha's lips before turning and sprinting out of the building.

Alex couldn't get out of that building fast enough, her heart beating abnormally fast and her thoughts racing

"Why the Hell did I just kiss her? What is going on with me?" the blonde thought to herself while tracing her finger over her tingling lips

As soon as she was out of the crowded streets, she let out a relieved sigh. She pulled out her phone from her jacket pocket and accessed her GPS app. She'd totally forgotten how she got to the club, but that was normal after all... She'd come there over two weeks prior!

She walked slowly down the crowded sidewalk watching as people ran by her and rushed all around her until she finally looked up and found herself standing right in front of her building.

The familiar scents and sounds brought back memories of her first few months in her apartment, but somehow her thoughts deviated from blissful reminiscence to a pair of glowing emerald eyes, porcelain skin, flamboyant red hair and soft yet sensual lips.

Alexandra shook her head to push these ridiculous thoughts away and made her way up the stairs and into her modest apartment.

Once she entered the apartment she began to look around. Everything seemed just as she'd let it, the kitchen still had that faint smell of coffee that was usually there, the living room was still the same mess with books piled everywhere, a thin layer of dust accumulated on the TV and shelves and the dining room was still covered in the white cloth just as she left it.

Alex opened the door to her bedroom and switched the lights on, she scanned the room but nothing caught her attention. Her khaki pants and plain black polo shirt were discarded on the floor at the foot of her queen sized bed, her burgundy shower towel sprawled nearby.

She remembered everything as if it was yesterday, in her mind this easy the morning after but the fact was, Alex had skipped those two weeks of her life and work as if nothing happened.

Even if she had hurt her head, why was she not in a hospital?

Something happened that night. Alex could feel it, but what was it? All she remembered was Asha walking towards her and Gabriel, her green orbs glowing in the darkness if the hallway and then.... Darkness.

She remembered the feeling rather well, she wasn't awake but she wasn't asleep either. Her body was paralyzed while her mind was set adrift in a maze of penumbras thoughts. Alex let out an exasperated sigh, but refused to give up. She thought harder, dug deeper into her memory, but all she found was darkness riddled with a sense of desperation, it was a rather weird feeling, but a very soothing one to Alex as she drifted away but she knew very well it was not her own. She felt it, so Alex clung to it and it gave her hope and warmth.

She groaned, trying to escape these thoughts "this is ridiculous, "" she thought out loud, things didn't add up, something didn't make any sense. Alex went around her room and picked up her towel and work clothes beginning to turn around but she froze. Alex's eyes widened in realization when the thought hit her.

She dove on her bed and grabbed her phone dialing hastily. A soft female voice answered after four long beeps "Maison Du Café, how may I help you?" the voice on the other end answered

"Hey Cassie, it's Alex" Alexandra breathed into the phone, a loud squeal followed on the other and Alex held the phone away from her ear until the high pitch screams ceased

"O.M.G! Alex!! I'm so glad you're okay! How are you? Where are you?" Cassie enthusiastically answered the wide smile she wore evident in her tone.

Alex sighed "First thing's first, how pissed is Jonathan on a scale of one to ten?" Alex was dreading the worst and at least expected to be fired the minute Jonathan heard her voice.

"Pissed? Why would he be pissed?" Cass asked, sounding genuinely clueless as to what would get Jonathan angry

The blonde sighed and resumed "Cass I haven't been to work in two weeks, that's why" a frown made its way onto the blonde's features as she thought about the consequences of this incident but she was snapped out of her thought by Cassie's chuckle

"You leave on paid silly! He can't get pissed" the bubbly brunette answered as if Alex should have known that. Alex was stunned for a minute before gathering her thoughts "paid leave?..... How?" the blonde narrowed her eyes as she said it out loud. Cassandra snorted loudly "some French head doctor and a hot redhead came after you were a no-show for two days and told Jonathan you were in a coma" Cassie went on to tell Alex that everyone at the shop missed her and wanted her to get better soon. Oddly enough, that brought a wide smile to Alex's lips.

She lay on her bed looking up at the ceiling several minutes after talking to Cassie and ever so slowly she let her eyes close to enjoy the quiet and her mind wandered off to Asha. Those kryptonite green eyes that never failed to mesmerize her were now all that Alexandra could think about, how soft Asha's lips felt and how sweet their brief kiss was, it all perplexed Alex.

The 25-year-old blonde already knew she was attracted to girls for a while now, she's had her share of partners during her college years and preferred the softer side of the spectrum to the testosterone induced haze. She'd never gotten attached to one of her partners, she'd been attracted to them just never this much. This kiss, Asha, they were invading her mind. Asha was dominating every thought Alex had.

She wandered around her apartment cleaning this and that, wiping down the tables and dusting off the chairs and shelves, cleaning everything she could, but she did everything absentmindedly. She could only think about one thing, and that was the beautiful redhead.Alex let out a frustrated sigh and shook her head, it was useless. The blonde walked into her kitchen and poured the pot of freshly brewed coffee down the sink, she then proceeded to retrieve her work clothes from the dryer and set them aside to iron them the next morning before heading to work.

She stood in the hall and looked around her apartment, there was nothing else she could do, reading was out of the question since she couldn't keep her train of thought, watching useless reality TV was numbing usually but she wouldn't be able to focus with the thoughts of Asha in her head. She reigned all effort of doing anything productive and slipped into a plain grey tank top and some black shorts then buried herself under the thick quilt. It wasn't long before sleep overcame her and she drifted into a fretful slumber.

Asha was leaning against the bar talking to Krishna, arranging for the stock to be replenished. Just as they were finishing up with the final details of the order, Iris burst into the club and headed straight for the redhead, Iris's face was contorted with anger. Her eyes, normally a sparkling brown, now glazed over with rage. Asha barely had time to turn around before iris dished a blow sending her skidding across the floor, knocking over chairs and large cases in the process.

"where do you and your damned council get off in sending MY mate to be killed, slaughtered by lycans?!" she screamed at Asha, her voice dripping with infuriation. The redhead calmly stood up and looked directly at Iris "your mate almost killed a human inside the club, a human which happens to hold significant importance to me, a human who happened...." Asha began to say but froze and let her words fade.

Iris froze when Asha began to speak, had Gabriel really done that? Had he endangered their entire existence so foolishly? Had he broken the most sacred law of their society? Iris questioned herself, she questioned her lover, had she misjudged him? soon denial settled within her and she began to question what Asha accused Gabriel of doing, she couldn't believe it."You're lying ! Gabriel couldn't have done that! He just couldn't! its just impossible...he just couldn't! " iris all but shouted at the redhead and took a few steps forward. Asha shook her head and sighed audibly " if you don't believe me, I can show you" the elder poke with a resigned voice

"what do you mean show me? How can you show me?" the enraged vampire questioned, he voice dripping with skeptism . "the first part through security tapes all over the club, then the rest through my blood, how me and Krishna found him draining the poor girl dry, since you obviously don't trust your elders or me for that matter" the redhead concluded

"I....I....." Iris hesitated , of course she trusted Asha, she was an elder, a righteous one that never stood for injustice, but a sliver of doubt remained in her mind, though she couldn't share her opinions with Asha. she wasn't stupid enough to alert the elder of her lack of trust and wariness of the council.

Iris sighed and took her leave exiting the club rapidly and headed towards her loft on the other side of town, she had some issues to think about. Asha shook her head and walked back to the bar where Krishna sat silently, the redheaded elder picked up the finalized order and nodded towards the two vampires sitting at the far end of the bar

"Sirius, Vaughn. Get this mess cleaned up, its almost opening hour. When you're done send after Elia, I'll be in my office waiting" Asha instructed coldly and made her way up the stairs to her office. With that said, the fiery redhead made her way up the stairs into her office on the third floor.
