Third Person's POV
When Cam leaves Yvie and I at the dance floor, a few minutes pass by yet there was no sign of her return. I wanted to use the restroom so I left Yvie to herself. After using the restroom, I was returning to the dance floor when I mistakenly bumped into someone.
"Um.. sorry." I lift my head to whoever it was that I bumped into unintentionally and guess who it was. Devi.
"Devi?" I say at the same time he says "Ashley?" We both laugh.
"What are you doing here?" I question.
"Same reason you're here, for the party."
I chuckle, "I see. Great seeing you here."
He grins and his hazel eyes glow, "Yeah, I guess we're on the same page. Glad I get to meet you again after so long." He says placing a lot of emphasis on how long by stretching the pronunciation of the so.
"Come on! It hasn't been that long." I hit his arm playfully, in a way it wouldn't hurt.
"Well... it has, besides we didn't get to have ice cream together."
"Yeah, about that, I'm sorry I cancelled."I try to make the most sorry expression ever made.
He caught on to my attempt and laughed, "It's okay. I know you won't just cancel without any peculiar reason."
"I promise I'm going to try and find time."
"Okay, will be waiting for your call or text when you finally decide."
"Thanks."
"You're welcome. So... would you share a dance with me?"
"Um, sure."
As she reached the dance floor with him, she noticed that Yvie wasn't there anymore, instead, there was Cam and Lucas. Her eyes roamed the entire hall and finally lands on Yvie who was chatting up this hot blonde guy whose name she's yet to find out.
_ _
"They're literally doing nothing but dancing. Calm down, stop stressing yourself out." Devi says trying to convince Ashley that Grayson and Anne were just dancing and nothing asides that yet she was too infuriated to listen.
Apparently Grayson saw her and Devi dancing and got jealous- unaware to her- so when Anne asked for a dance, he didn't think twice before agreeing. As he and Anne danced he kept glancing torwards Ashley and Devi's direction, second after seond.
"They're not supposed to be dancing." She air quotes and Devi raises a brow at her. "You won't understand." She adds.
"I know you love your boyfriend very much but you are dancing with me too. I bet he's jealous too, I can smell it from here yet he doesn't seem as infuriated as you are."
"I'm female."
"And..."
She sighs, "He promised not to be close to here in that way, you know, like how how intimate they are right now." She glares at both Anne and Gray.
"It's just a dance, come on!" Devi tries to convince her yet she wasn't buying having it as her anger grew by the second. "Stop looking at them, that way you'd see and feel nothing."
"It matters a lot to me, I'll head back t.." She halts when she sees them doing something different altogether now. Their lips were pressed against each other, Anne's arm around his neck. Her eyes immediately stung with tears, the scene before her bringing an ache to her chest. Devi turns to the direction of her eyes.
"Shit!" He cusses and without her permission drags her out of there. She doesn't fight back or try to stop him.
Grayson pries Anne's arm off his neck and pushes her lips off his. He wipes his lips with the back of his hand, face contorting into a frown, a very deep frown. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" He yells at her, veins in his neck popping out.
"I'm sorry." She utters, no trace of remorse in her words.
He ignores her, for his anger was rising by the second, gaze wanders the dance floor and when he didn't find her did reality hit him in the face. She probably saw it, didn't she? He lets out a nervous breath and runs his hand through his hair. He was about to leave the dance floor to go look for her when Anne grabs onto his arm.
"Let go." He yells again, clenching and unclenching his jaw. Her grip on him loosens yet she didn't fully let go off him.
He forcefully pulls his arm from her grip, "Oh how I've been so stupid," regret laces his tone. "I should have listened to her. Goodness! I was so blinded by what we shared as kids that I didn't see you for who you actually are. You're devious and sneaky. You'd do anything to get what you want, even if your actions will hurt a lot of people. And the craziest part of it is that you don't even give a hoot who you hurt." At this point people's attention were drawn to them.
"I like you. Why won't you like me back, what does she have that I don't?" She starts crying dramatically, calling for even more attention than was necessary.
"Because she's a way better person than you'll ever be, can't you see? Unlike you who's a sham, she has self- dignity and she won't throw herself at guys that clearly don't want her." A few gasps could be heard, "I respected our friendship but now I'm telling you, I don't want to have anything to do with you. Everything ends now and here, there's no tie binding us anymore. I don't KNOW you."
Pierson appears at his side, "Man, you're creating a scene."
Him creating a scene was the least of his worries at the moment, he needed to find Ashley, he needed to explain things to her. "Where's she?" He asks referring to Ashley.
"I saw her walk out with some dude. She was crying, man."
Pierson leads him out, to the place where Ashley was with Devi, Cam and Lucas. Ashley was terribly sobbing in Cam's arms. "How could he do this to me?" She mutters in between tears, "It hurts," She grabs her chest, "so bad."
"It's okay," Cam rubs her back, "Everything is going to be fine."
He stood, unable to say anything , her tears were breaking his heart.
"Ash..." He mutters, voice barely above a whisper.
At the sound of his voice, she pulls away begrudgingly from Cam's hold and turns to face him, anger and hurt flashing in her eyes. The tears kept rolling down her cheeks.
"You.." She says, "kissed her," a flicker of disappointment weighing in her words.
"No," he defends himself, "she was the one who kissed me."
Ash scoffs, "I bet you enjoyed the feel of her lips on yours."
"No I didn't, I swear I didn't kiss her back. You have to believe me. She came onto me but I pushed her away immediately. I even cut all ties with her."
She stares at him, tears assaulting her cheek. "Too late."
He halts at her words, panic creeping into his being at the meaning behind the words she just uttered. He felt frozen for a second, before finally snapping out of it. "What do you m...mean?" His voice wavers.
"You've been an amazing boyfriend to me and I appreciate all your care but I can't do this anymore. The best thing for us right is for us to break up, we need it. I'm breaking up with you Gray."
Shock grips his being as his heart skips a beat out of fright and panic. He stood there motionless as her words sank. By the time he recovered from his shock, she wasn't there anymore and everyone else, except Pierson, who stood there watching him with pity.
"She b-r-o-k-e up with me." He whispers sounding so broken. His eyes glistens with liquid, involuntarily a tear cascades down his cheek as he stares distantly into the sky. His whole body shook and his chest was beginning to ache from all the emotions he was feeling at the moment.
"I don't have the right to be hurt or sad. I caused this." Another drop of tear trickle down his cheek. "It's all my fault, she kept telling me yet I didn't listen. This is what Anne wanted and now she has it."
"It's not your fault man." Pierson pats his back for some comfort. The tears continued its assault on his cheeks, no sound escaped his lips. A silent cry, it was, that held so much.
__
Pierson drives Grayson to his house as he wasn't in the right frame of mind to drive home by himself.
"You'll be okay." He pats him on the back for re-asssurance once again before leaving.
Grayson opens the door and enters into the house. To be recently broken up with was already hard enough, but to come back home with the intent of forgetting your misery and pain yet not being able to because you're about to experience another emotional roller coaster wasn't something he was anticipating.
There she was, a woman, seated on the couch, with his dad, chatting heartily. From her body stature, the arch of her back, the look of her hair, her sitting posture, the way she'd crossed her legs, he could tell it was her. As he gets closer, the view became clearer.
It was indeed her.
Same woman that left him so many years ago and never for once turned to look back.
He was boiling in anger, getting livid by the second, that his dad would allow his mom into their home, after leaving it so empty and broken. How dare she return? She was the one who chose to leave so why was she here now? To cause more problems and heartaches for his dad and him?
"What are you doing here?" He barks, all his frustration and pain surfacing.
Startled by the voice both his dad and Mom turn in his direction. He watches her with disdain.
"S..son." She stutters, an emotion, regret, flashes in her eyes.
"Son?" He chuckles humorlessly, "You," he points at her, "call me" points at himself "Son? Wow!"
"I am..."
He cuts her off. " I am not your son. Don't ever call me that. Just when I thought I'd never have to see your face again, I do, and that too on a day like this. Must be some kind of sick game the universe is playing." His eyes becomes glossy as his mind travels to the recent happenings and to how she left when he was just a kid. The tears were threatening to spill yet he held it back in, refusing to be vulnerable in front of this woman. No, she won't see a single drop of his tears, she doesn't deserve it. "Tell me, did the devil send you to come cause me more pain than you already have?"
"Grayson!" His Dad yells rising up from his seat, "That is no way to talk to your mother."
He shakes his head in disappointment, "Of course, you'll always support her, won't you? Love SUCKS!!" That was the last thing he said before slamming the door and leaving the house.
He couldn't stay there knowing the presence of his mom will be lurking, it'd suffocate and probably kill him. He needed a place of peace, a place he could be by himself and reflect on the recent happenings and Cole's place was the best at the moment. Cole wouldn't pry too much and that's just what he needs hence where he was headed.

Helloooo...
I can't believe my favorite couple has broken up. I'm in tears right now!!!
Was it okay for Ashley to just end things between them because of the kiss?
Should Grayson have not let his jealousy override his promise? Do you think he deserve what happened to him? Is his anger towards him Mom justified?
Does love suck?
